Things have been...off with Brock the past week.

It all seemed to start after they almost kissed in Chloe's dorm room.

If anything, Chloe thought the almost kiss would bring Brock closer to her.

But she was severely mistaken.

It's as if Brock didn't want to be alone with Chloe anymore.

She had asked him to hang out or study throughout the week.
Which was always met with an excuse.

"I need to get some extra practice in."

"I'm hanging with the boys later."

Chloe was initially extremely hurt by those rejections.

He was about to kiss her!
What could have possibly changed?

All of these thoughts were racing through her mind as Chloe sat with Aubrey and Fat Amy in the library.

"He was leaning in. I don't understand the cold shoulder," Chloe complained.

Aubrey sighed, "I shouldn't have interrupted. I'm sorry, Chlo."

Fat Amy shrugged, "Based on his behavior lately, you probably saved her from him freaking the fuck out."

Chloe glared at her two best friends.
Then she turned her attention to Brock, who was sitting across the library with his boys.

Well he was sleeping next to them.
His head was down over whatever textbook he should be studying.

"Maybe you should back off, Chlo. I mean...what if he's actually not interested," Aubrey hesitantly suggested.

Chloe whipped her head back towards her friend.

"I just don't want to see you get hurt," Aubrey quickly added.

"Why would he almost kiss me if he wasn't interested," Chloe asked.

Fat Amy shrugged, "He was horny?"

Chloe rolled her eyes, "Brock isn't like that. He's different."

Aubrey sighed, "So how are you rationalizing his behavior?"

"He using soccer as an excuse. No distractions."

"Then show him you wouldn't be one. Be supportive about his dumb jockness," Fat Amy said.

Chloe nodded as she glanced back at Brock's table.

After they finished studying, Chloe noticed Brock's boys getting up to leave.

They were whispering and snickering as they quietly left Brock to sleep at their table.

Chloe saw an opportunity, so she excused herself from Aubrey and Fat Amy.

She could sense their concern and judgement as she walked towards a sleeping Brock.
