I saw your name on a street sign In the middle of nowhere And that has to mean something I know your zodiac sign Me and Leo's get along great And that has to mean something But for some reason You're not here And I refuse to believe That means something I felt the way that you hugged me When I was broken inside And that has to mean something When we got too drunk that night And that had to mean something But for some reason You're not here And I refuse to believe That means something Every time I think too much It ends up crazy But I don't know how to not think about you Every time I trust my gut I think I'm crazy Cause I don't know how to put my trust in you Do you think it means something That I wrote another song about you?
nine months after third person
stopped at a random stop sign in california, brooke looked around, taking in her surroundings. massachusetts and california were completely different, and brooke was still in awe in how beautiful parts of the state she now called home were. although she missed boston every day, california was finally becoming her second home. just as she began to drive away, she noticed a street sign, matthew street.
brooke was never the type to believe in coincidences, she believed everything happened for a reason. her mom said those five words to her nearly every day growing up, and she was bound to believe it. so when the girl saw the street sign, she knew it meant something. whether it be a sign that she made a mistake, or a sign that the future would work in their favor and they would be together again one day, she didn't know.
walking into her apartment, she immediately took out her notebook, feeling inspired.
did it mean something that matt was a leo? leo and aries get along great.
but why wasn't matt here with her now? the two had to have broken up for a reason, a reason greater than brooke moving away. brooke believed that the universe didn't separate two people unless it needed to, but she didn't want to acknowledge that. she refused to believe that her and matt weren't together for a reason.
for it had to have meant something when matt hugged her that cold, snowy winter night in january. when no one else could put brooke back together, or calm her down, matt could. just his presence eased her. she felt beyond comfortable with the boy, and that had to mean something.
or the first time the two teenagers had gotten drunk, simply because they were curious as to how it felt. the two had been together for a year at this point, and it felt like nothing could ever tear them apart. the way matt kissed her that night, made her certain she had found the one for her. that kiss had to mean something.
even though nine months had passed, brooke could not stop thinking about the boy.
