Skyler took off her jacket, hat and gloves and stuck them into her locker before she was to get to class. She was a quiet kid. She didn't have any friends besides her brother and his best friend stiles. Scott loved his sister, so he never let her be friendless. So when he met stiles and declared him his best friend, stiles also became skylers best friend. But the two of them had a different class than she did that year. Which meant that she was alone. Since she was so quiet, the kids in her grade liked to pick on her because she was considered an easy target. Skyler stood at her locker, getting ready for class. She grabbed her books from her book-bag and shut her locker door. When she shut her locker door she saw a boy...his name was Christian. Christian was one of the many people that chose to pick on her.
"Hey Skyler" Christian greeted tauntingly. He looked down at the necklace she wore around her neck, that belonged to her grandmother. "What's that?" He asked her pointing to the small, heart shaped locket that rested on her chest. Skyler put her hand on the locket
"It was my grandmas" she told him innocently
"And where's ur grandma now?" He smiled tauntingly
"She..she died...this is all that I have from her" she told him nervously
"Say...u wouldn't mind if I looked at it would you?" He asked ripping the necklace from her neck
"Hey!" She yelled teacher her hand out for it but Christian held his arm up in the air so she couldn't reach "give it back! It's not funny"
"See u later !" He laughed, running away from her, and down the hallway.

Skyler ran into the bathroom and locked herself in the big stall. She sat down against the wall and cried for awhile ....until she heard a knock at the door
"Go away!" Skyler sniffled. The looked down at the large crack between the floor and the stall door to see the most popular girl in her grade, lydia Martin, crawling into the stall. Lydia stood up as soon as she entered and looked down at Skyler, putting her hand out for her to take. Skyler sniffed and took her hand, standing off the ground. Lydia smiled at her and Skyler returned it with a weak smile as she whipped her tears away.
"I've got something for u" Lydia told her, pulling out skylers necklace from her pocket and handing it to her
"My grandmas necklace" Skyler said happily "why did u do that?"
"I've seen those boys being mean to u in class a lot, and to be honest I think ur too pretty to be picked on" Skyler smiled at her compliment "here" Lydia stated taking the necklace form skylers hand "I fixed it for u..let me help u put it on" Lydia told her as Skyler turned around, pulling her hair up as Lydia placed her necklace back where is should be. Skyler dropped her hair and spun back around
"Thankyou" she smiled. Lydia smiled back
"From now on..ur gonna hang out with me. Those boys wont bother u anymore. And this will be the last time either of us touch the bathroom floor" Lydia told Skyler making Skyler giggle. Lydia held out her arm for Skyler to link hers with and she did. "Plus....we're too pretty for that" The two girls shared a smile as they strutted out of the bathroom. And that was the day that Lydia and Skyler became inseparable.

(Now)
"U know...u don't have to tell me why ur so upset...about something that isn't isaac..." Lydia spoke as she and Skyler sat in her bed with food as Skyler cried and they watched the notebook. Lydia sighed "but i think I might know" she cringed, not knowing if she was right. Skyler looked down, worried she knew. "And...u should know that....it's ok to be surprised by feelings" lydia told her, shrugging her shoulders. "I mean, sometimes people feel things without ever thinking they would...or thinking those feelings were possible...and...I mean, have I seen movies." She chuckled "let's be honest..those feelings make for the best plot line" she smiled as she put some popcorn in her mouth. Skyler looked at her, chuckling slightly as she rolled her eyes
"Plot line?" She asked, chuckling and Lydia giggled
"We'll of course. U should always do things for the plot line. It's what makes the best stories" lydia shrugged. Skyler nodded as she silently laughed, eating some popcorn too
"Got it" she stated. "Do it for the plot line" she nodded and Lydia nodded too, the two girls laughing.
