Wild Game

Scott bursted through Skylers bedroom door as he panted panickly
"Skyler!" He yelled as he ran into her bathroom "Skyler!" He yelled. He pulled out his phone and put it to his ear
"Scott. Hey. U ok? We just got out. Where r u?" Stiles asked over the phone
"Is she with u?" Scott panicked
"Lydia? Yeah. She's right here" stiles answered
"No. Skyler" Scott told him
"No. No skylers not with me. Why?" Stiles asked, starting to worry. Scott put his hand on his head as he began to sweat
"She's not...." She panted "she never came out of Eichen. I thought she was behind me but she wasn't" he panicked
"Ok. Ok. We'll find her." Stiles told him
"Find who?" Lydia asked him as she sat in the passenger seat, stiles driving
"Skylers missing" stiles answered and Lydia's eyes widened
"What do u mean, skylers missing?" She asked
"I mean, Scott can't find her. He thought she was behind them when they ran out of Eichen but she wasn't and now he can't find her" stiles told her
"Is she still at Eichen?" Lydia asked
"We were being chased by the dread doctors. Somewhere in there, I lost her" Scott told them
"What, u think they took her?" Stiles asked and Lydia's eyes widened
"I..." Scott panicked "idk..I"
"Ok. Ok breathe. Breathe, Scott. We're gonna find her" stiles assured him "ok? Just call Derek and have him get his ass back to beacon hills. He always knows how to find people, right?" He asked
"Skyler doesn't have a sent" lydia reminded him
"But he can smell what she was feeling right? He can go back to Eichen and smell what she was feeling. He can tell if she was scared or not, right?" Stiles asked
"Yeah" Scott nodded as he tried to catch her breath
"Check the loft and if she's not there..." stiles paused, sighing worriedly "Ill call my dad and we'll file her as a missing person" he told Scott. Scott closed his eyes
"I never wanted to have to do this again Stiles. We've come way to close to losing her too many times" he panicked
"I know." Stiles nodded, starting to feel the same amount of worry "but we'll find her, ok? Go check the loft" he told Scott, trying to keep it together. Scott nodded
"I'll call u" he told stiles before hanging up. Stiles nodded as he set his phone down before slamming on the car wheel repeatedly
"Stiles!" Lydia yelled and stiles stopped
"This is all our fault!" Stiles yelled. He panted "people keep dying. And now they have Skyler. Who knows what they're gonna do to her"
"We'll find her" Lydia assured him
"Yeah? And what if we don't?" Stiles asked, looking at her.
"We have to" lydia told him sternly. She looked ahead nervously "we have to" she repeated quieter as she looked out the window.

The next morning, the sheriff crossed out a picture of Tracy on his board in his office
"Chimeras" he spoke
"Two dead Chimeras" stiles told him
"And eight new ones" Malia added as the two stood not too far behind the sheriff
"So, that's ten in all" stiles told him
"I'm thinking maybe eleven...Our station tech guys confirmed something for me... They said both the holding cell lock and cameras could have malfunctioned because of something electromagnetic. You said that, uh, these guys.."
"Dread Doctors" Malia interrupted the sheriff
"Are we really calling them that?" The sheriff asked
"So, they broke Donovan out?" Malia asked
"It's how they got into Eichen, isn't it?" Stiles asked
"Donovan's a Chimera." Malia spoke
"Yeah, but... Is he a failure like Lucas and Tracy?" The sheriff asked
"If he is, he's probably dead." Malia shrugged
"Not until I've seen a body." The sheriff told her "You're uncharacteristically quiet..." he spoke to stiles
"Yeah... Sorry, I'm, uh... I'm just trying to think about it. Uh... These are all teenagers, right? So, now shouldn't we be trying to figure out why these teenagers? If the Dread Doctors, if they went through all that-- burying them, killing them, breaking one of them out of jail..." stiles spoke
"They couldn't have been chosen at random." The sheriff shrugged
"They had to have something in common." Malia told them
"Something that made them right for this experiment." The sheriff agreed
"Something that made them special" stiles added. He sighed "and that something has to be something Skyler has too right? Why else would they take her?" He asked
"Why would they even take a supernatural? What, they wanna make her stronger?" Malia asked in confusion. She sighed "but I mean, we knew they wanted her this whole time. It was like it was planned." She told them. Stiles's eyes widened
"Wait. What? What r u talking ab?" He asked
"Skyler asked me not to tell u guys. She didn't wanna worry everyone" Malia sighed
"Tell us what?" The sheriff asked.
"The night the dread doctors came to kill Tracy, one of them was ab to stick a needle of something into skylers neck when another one stopped him, telling him "not yet"" she told them. Stiles sighed
"Malia. U should have told us" he told her and Malia shrugged
"She asked me not to" she told him "I thought I was doing the right thing" she told him. Stiles sighed, rubbing her shoulder
"It's ok" he told her as Malia started to stress
"Either way, she's officially a missing person." The sheriff told them "I've got deputies out patrolling all over for her. We're following any lead we've got" he told them "now, r u sure there is no supernatural way to find her?" He asked
"No. She doesn't have a scent" stiles shook his head. The sheriff nodded
"Then I guess, we'll have to do this the old fashion way" he told them before turning and putting a picture of skyler on his board.
