Working as an underground fighter you make a decent wage I have roof over my head and I don't go to sleep hungry.

I usually don't have much time for other things than training and fighting but there is one thing that I have always enjoyed and that is working at ChildCare it's weird calling it work cause i'm not getting paid but Jasmin who is the boss really loves having me there and I love being there so she let me "work" there. The word volunteer worker would probably be a better definition but the others here think that i'm just working like they are, and the less they know about me the better.

When growing up I very quickly realized that not going to highschool or college when being young is weird. Watching movies about the pretty prom queen and parties was strange it made me realize how different my life is.

The truth is tho I've always wanted to try that experience. I of course have also heard that highschool really isn't that great but the only time I went to school was from the age of six to thirteen and I really can't remember much about that time.

....

Living with my mother after my parents' divorce was hard financially. I wasn't working since I was too little and my mom had a very hard time making ends meet. But mom was lovely she was the best. My mom never got a boyfriend or a husband after my parents left each other. My mom never stopped loving my father they never stopped loving each other I'm sure of that.

The death of my mother was harsh, she was murdered by who? No one ever found out this is the cause of my non-existing trust in the system.

Since my father's name wasn't written in any registers and we knew nothing else about him he was never told about my mother's death or that I basically disappeared from the face of the earth. Had he known I'm sure he would have tried to find me.

...

"arrgg shit it's 9 am  I'm late"  I quickly grab the cup of coffee I had made ten minutes ago it was now cold so I just chucked it down I really fast, I hated cold coffee but at least I would get a caffeine boost.

I called Jasmin to let her know that I would arrive a bit late. ChildCare is placed in the corner of a narrow street it is actually a very cute place and thankfully not far away from where my apartment is basically it takes me fifteen minutes to walk there so that's pretty nice.

"heii Jasmin"  I say as I enter the door and the bell rings letting people know of my arrival, she looks at me smiling. Jasmin is literally the sweetest thing ever. She's a mature lady at the age fifty and she gives the nicest hugs.

"Miya it's been so long, you don't know how much I've missed you the children as well they constantly want you Miya"  she says and gives me one her hugs "I know Jasmin and I have really tried my best to take more shifts but I have been so busy" Jasmin nods and squeezes my arm "well it's good that you're here now" she says winks at me and I laugh.

Xander POV

When father told us that Miya had been found I had no idea how to react. What was craziest about the whole thing was that our base was at New York, meaning she very often must have been living right our noses, and even though our house where we spend most of our time was in Oregon, it angered me so much. Like had she lived on the other side of the world, I would  have understood why finding her wasn't easy but why has it been so hard to find her if she was just in New York?.

Liam and I had told my father that we would go meet her although just randomly showing up would seem very strange. For now Liam and I agreed to just stay close to where she was and see if we could somehow making meeting her less weird.

The flight from Oregon to New York was shit and we sat in a private jet. Liam and I were both born into the mafia and still we had never been more nervous than the thought of meeting our sister after seventeen years.

After about seven hours we finally arrived at the hotel we were staying, our dad had given us three days off from work he hadn't told us that he expected us to bring our sister home, but with the new  threat our mafia was facing having a sister walking around unprotected could be very dangerous.
