Chapter 27

"What? Wait, to be clear, I asked you to be careful of your choices since you were shouting and bragging about how you were watching porn in school." 

Off's shoulder dropped after hearing New's response. "Wow, you're unbelievable. You only focused on it during the entirety of my story?" 

"Hey, I'm being considerate here. Should I reject you now?" New said that made Off laugh. He can't resist the younger's reaction. While Off was laughing, New can't help himself not to think of their situation right now. He sighs. "I don't know if you are confident because you know you're good-looking but I admire your braveness. You manage to tell me the truth even knowing how much I love Tay."

Off smiled even though his heart ached when he heard those words. "You must really like my face, don't you?" They both laughed. "But, aren't we both brave? You too, manage to tell Tay the truth despite knowing he has someone. From now on, try to look at yourself If you have something you admire in others."

New didn't respond. He looked straight into Off's eyes.

I must be lucky, New thought to himself. He's lucky to have friends like them. If only he could teach his heart to love Off instead, everything will be fine. Their friendship won't be ruined like this. Their friendship wouldn't have ended. He hopes it's not the end.

He feels so helpless as he looks into his eyes. He reached the realization that the heart is incapable of learning. It isn't capable of thinking, it can only feel because he feels nothing but love for a man who couldn't look at him. 

Off looked away and chuckled bitterly. "Damn. Do I have superpowers now?" He said and stood up. New didn't say anything, and no word comes out of his mouth but why does Off feel like New already responds to him? As if he can read everything in his eyes the moment he stares at him.

"Where are you going?" New asked. 

"Bathroom, at the beach, pool," Off sighs. "To be honest, I don't know."  Once again, Off steps forward to leave the room but New spoke again. 

"Are you okay?" 

Before turning around, he form his lips a smile and went to New to tap his head. "I am. Did I make you worry? I'm sorry, I'll just go outside for air or help Namtan downstairs." 

"Okay." New simply answered but before leaving Off gave him his phone. "What's this?" He asked.

"Someone wants to talk to you." Off said, "Play it after I leave." Then he finally left the room. When the door shuts, New stares at the phone for a second and pressed the screen to start the video. 

"Ah, seriously?" New said as soon as the video starts. It was the video he recorded back then, a message for the person Off likes. He didn't think that he would the one to watch the video that he recorded. Life can really playful sometimes. 

"Hey, you, whoever you are, I'm telling you. Go to him and date him--eh, maybe marry him. He's waited for a long time so marrying him is the best option." 

New played the video several times before he finally turn it off. In the times like this, New remembers the past. He must be really crazy for clinging to the past that will never come back. He always says that Tay is being insensitive and not taking a hint, but he laughed as he realized that he's the same. He is too focused on Tay that he didn't notice how obvious how much Off likes him. 

But can he blame himself? Off lied about being in a relationship with Gun. New see Off as someone who won't flirt with another person while being in the relationship. The only thing he can blame himself for is he assumes easily and didn't bother to clarify something first.
