"This place is magical..."September 1st, 1991
A FEW WEEKS HAD passed by and it was now currently September 1st. Aurora woke up early that morning and checked her trunk to see if she missed anything.
Once she had finished checking, she raced downstairs and into the kitchen. Her parents were already awake, making breakfast. They had taken a day off of work to say their last goodbyes to Aurora before she went off to Hogwarts.
"Morning little one." her father said to her, putting down the newspaper he was currently reading.
"Morning!" Aurora replied back, sitting on the chair next to him.
"So, once we have eaten breakfast and gotten ready. We'll leave around 10:30, so you will have just enough time to get on the train and meet some new friends." Her mother explained to Aurora, who just nodded her head eagerly.
Once they had finished eating breakfast and her mother checked over Aurora's trunk once more, they took it downstairs and put it into the boot of their car. They still had an hour before they would leave so within that time they played card games together, while her mother told her things like, 'be on your best behaviour, 'don't get into too much trouble', 'focus on your grades, not boys' - the last one being said by her father.
After what felt like an eternity, they finally left and were now currently driving to Kings Cross Station which was ten minutes from their house. Once they made it to Kings Cross Station they started to make their way through the crowds and over to where a brick wall was, that was in the middle of nine and ten. Professor McGonagall had shown them weeks before where the entrance was.
"So this is the brick wall?" Her father asked her and her mother, whose heads nodded. "And we just go straight through it?" another nod. "Ok then. I'll go first then you and your mother can go after me."
"Always got to play a knight." her mother teased her father who grinned and said, "Well, you did say once, that I was your knight and shining armour."
Her mother rolled her eyes while chuckling. Her father then walked closer to the brick wall and took a deep breath before going through the barrier. Aurora and her mother both gasp at seeing him disappear through the wall.
"Wicked," Aurora said, a grin forming on her face.
"Shall we?" her mother said to her gesturing her hand out for Aurora to take. Aurora took her mother's hand and the two of them walked over to the brick wall and went through the barrier.
Aurora had closed her eyes going through the barrier but when she opened them again an awe expression filled her face. A scarlet steam engine was waiting next to the platform packed with people. A sign overhead said Hogwarts Express, 11 o'clock. Smoke from the engine drifted over the heads of the chattering crowd, while cats of every colour wound here and there between their legs. Owls hooted at each other in a disgruntled sort of way over the babble and the scraping of trunks.
