Scarlett POV

Bloom and I are flying back to back, as the ancestral witches circle around us.

"Take that!" Bloom yells hitting the witches with fire. I do the same, using my fire powers. It doesn't bring me any pain, leading me to believe that it is only my ice powers that are... well malfunctioning in a way. Eventually the large uses of our powers take its toll, and Bloom's power starts to fade though she is still conscious. I start to shiver, and I notice the last parts of my fiery red hair turn to an icy white.

"Even your powers are doomed to vanish in this place, little princess." Bloom sinks down to the floor, and rests on her knees. I drop down next to her, making sure she is alright. Even if we aren't related, she is still my best friend.

"Do it, Bloom. Take up Oritel's sword and destroy it!" One witch says eagerly.

"The man who forged it told me only a truly pure-hearted king or royal warrior can hold the sword." Bloom replies now realising that we both don't fit into those categories.

"Well, then maybe I should grab it." Sky is standing on the rocks near the sword.

"Sky, you made it!" Bloom says in relief. Sky starts climbing up the statue towards the sword.

"Yes! Be our guest, young Prince Sky!" The witches encourage, floating behind him.

Bloom and I cry out in protest, he isn't a king yet. It might kill him. We continue shouting out as he grabs the hilt of the sword tightly, and pulls it out of the stone. For a few seconds, everything is quiet as he stands there, sword in hand. Did it actually work?

Then a jolt of electricity runs up his arm and he falls down the rocks, lying unconscious on some statues.

"Oh no! Sky!" Bloom cries, running over to him. She kneels by him, checking if he is alright.

The ancestral witches now use their magic on the sword, levitating it up and pointing it at Bloom. I stagger to my feet, flying as fast as I could to Bloom. My wings start to freeze over, so I run the last part. The witches shoot the sword as fast as they could at Bloom whose back is still turned.

"BLOOM!" I cry pushing Bloom out of the way, I feel my body freeze up completely before I am frozen in time.

Bloom POV

I gently brush Sky's hair out of his face, crying softly. Why did he have to take the sword? I know he heard my warnings, why didn't he listen?

"BLOOM!" I hear Scarlett shout before I am pushed out of the way. I turn around and see a sword ricocheting off an ice statue. I look closer and realise that it is Scarlett.

"SCARLETT!" I let out a heart wrenching scream, seeing my best friend turned to ice. She pushed me out of the way to save me and in return it was forever trapped in ice. I stagger over to Scarlett, and wrap my arms around her icy figure. My mumbled no's is drowned out by my sobbing. I try to call on my fire powers to melt the ice, but my powers have completely faded away. Fairies aren't meant to last down here in the pits of utmost evil.

"What a fool. The sword, Bloom." One of the witches behind me sneered.

"It killed Sky. Oh, the more reasons to destroy it." Another said with false pity.

I look around to see the Winx lying motionless on the floor, Sky unconscious on the rocks and Scarlett frozen in ice.

"My friends, Sky, Scarlett. My nightmare came true. I can't do this alone." I cry out, on the verge of giving up.

A golden glow comes out of my necklace. It forms into a familiar mask and I hear the voice I have been longing to hear.

"Bloom, you are not alone."
