The Eyes of My Soul

Chapter 3

I wake up. How long have I been asleep? There is no alarm clock. I sigh. They seem not to have any useful appliances in this place. This place DOES seem like a prison. Lifeless. I begin to wonder if I've been brainwashed and put into a prison. I get tense to the thought.

"You up?" I look around. It's Steve. Has he been watching me as I slept? "What are you doing here?" I ask him. "Talluss told me to check on you.", he begins, "I've been here only for five minutes 'till you woke up." "Who's Talluss?" I ask him. "He's the leader. The one that controls this whole rebellion against "the main land".", he responds. I stare at him blankly. "He's the one you saw on the screen yesterday!", he confirms. Yesterday? Have I been asleep that long? "I really couldn't see him; there were to many people blocking my view.", I call back.

Steve begins to rant about Talluss knowing this and Talluss knowing that. He says all this stuff about the people of Talluss being right in why we should rebel against "the main land". Honestly I don't know what the main land is. I don't even know where I am. After giving it some thought I give up under Steve's influence on "the main land" being all evil and distorted. Steve invites me to loom around the area, just to get to know it. I joyfully agree since I want to get to know the place that I don't even know how I ended up in. As we look around he starts telling me his memories being in this prison.

I begin to feel that he's not a newbie like us and that he's obviously been here long. How long has he been here?

I suddenly remember that I want to know the time. "Umm is there any clock or sort of thing in this place?", I ask Steve. "No", he responds. Great a timeless prison. How wonderful. I wonder what they do here for fun. I begin to wonder. Has he been here that long.
