3rd POV:

Winry and Maeve's friendship grew over the next week, and Edward and Alphonse were happy for them. Once, Maeve and Winry had ditched the brother's to go shopping, and Al said to his brother, "It's nice that Maeve has a girl-friend. I love being with her and all, but I realize that girls like being around other girls sometimes, even the inhuman ones." Ed nodded his head in agreement to that as they ran to catch up to the two girls.

The first morning they spent at the shop, Winry had woken up earlier to see Alphonse. She was aware of how Al didn't sleep ever and wanted to spend time with him while she could have him to herself. She had noticed that Maeve and Al were pretty inseparable, and Ed was always where ever Maeve was. So she didn't expect to see Maeve sitting on Al's lap, going over some Alchemy things. Maeve had written out the test questions from the exam to become a State Alchemist, and timed Al two hours. When Winry walked in, Maeve was grading his work, and Al wanted to read over her shoulder. Winry felt anger and jealousy with thought's about how her best friend was closer to Al than she was.

Later on Maeve, who had noticed that Winry seemed to be acting off through Al's feelings, managed to convince Winry to tell her why she was being weird. After being threatened with Maeve saying that she'll eat all of Winry's hammers (She could, Maeve can literally eat anything) she told Maeve about how she felt seeing her and Al that morning. Maeve laughed at Winry's concerns, explaining why she was laughing.

"Al and I are sibling's. We may not be blood relatives, or look alike, but that's the way we see each other. And it would be just WAY too freaky to think of him in any other way, and the same goes for him. Trust me I know how he feels." After Winry asked what she meant, Maeve told Winry about how they were connected, and even a little about herself. Winry understood then, and even laughed at her silliness good naturedly. Winry asked how it was with Ed, if she was a sibling to Al. Maeve responded by saying that, 'Ed is a good friend. I don't see him like I do Alphonse at all. He seems special still though. Just as special as Al." Winry rolled her eye's at that. She was hoping that Maeve, with all of her extra years of living, would be able to know when she had a crush on some one.

After the week had gone by, Ed's auto-mail was complete. And once he was accustomed to it again, he and Al decided to spar. Maeve, Major Armstrong and Winry sat on the porch watching. Armstrong was confused as to why the first thing the two do when they get healed is to fight each other. Winry just laughed at him, explaining it simply. 'They're brothers.'

After Al beat Ed, Maeve learned that Al was the best at hand to hand combat, and Ed was better at alchemy. Her thought's were disrupted by Winry, who wanted to know how Maeve could spar. Everyone froze, wondering if Winry was joking or not. "She's most definitely the better fighter. Isn't it obvious when Maeve's known as 'un-beatable'?" Armstrong said. Winry explained that she knew that, but she wanted to see Maeve in action, of course without hurting anyone. While Winry was talking, Maeve had gotten up to stand in front of the two brothers. She told Winry without turning around that she would of course show her how she fights, and that no one would be hurt either.

Ed slapped Al's shoulder, wishing him luck in fighting her, but Maeve said that she was going to fight against them both. She told them that they can use whatever they liked, alchemy included, and she would only do hand to hand combat moves. Winry exclaimed how it was an unfair fight against Maeve. Ed and Al retorted that it wasn't fair enough for them, that Maeve should have to have her feet tied as well. Winry nearly threw a hammer at the two boys, but Maeve caught it an inch from Al's helmet, saying that she wouldn't mind, and she tied her feet with metal chains.

Al and Ed got on opposite sides of Maeve, and they both attacked at the same time. Maeve dodged all of their attacks. After about 15 minutes of the boy's stabbing at her, trying to punch her, trap her and Ed even tried to make a pit appear under her, but she always avoided their attacks and traps. Then she started retaliating. She first went after Al, and grabbed him by the back of his neck flipping him over her shoulder one handed, stunning him. Then she jumped onto Ed's head wrapping her knees around it and maneuvering her body so he flipped over her and onto his back. She somersaulted off him to kick Al in the chest as he was just getting up by the time Ed was down.
