George POV:
After Clay and I kissed goodbye, I opened the door and went inside. "George! There you are, I wondered where you had gone", my mother rushed up to me. "Oh yeah sorry, i went over to Clay's house", i told her.
She just nodded, I think she had noticed that me and Clay had become good friends. Or i mean friends don't really make out with each other but still. It's not like I could just tell her that, she wouldn't be very happy with it I'm pretty sure.
Dinner was served so we all sat down at the table and started eating our food. "So George, there has been something me and your mother have wanted to discuss with you according to your marriage", my father spoke.
Right now it was the last thing I wanted to discuss.
"So George, since you haven't found a partner yet, we are gonna host a Ball with princesses from all over the kingdom. It will be your last chance to pick someone, otherwise me and your father will'', my mother added
All i could think was 'what if i dont wanna marry a princess? What if I'd rather marry a boy named Clay who has perfectly pink kissable lips, emerald green eyes and freckles dotted all over his sun kissed face. Even the thought of us kissing again made me blush slightly.
My mom and dad must have seen my annoyed facial expression. "Well we have invited Sapnap already and he's bringing his friend named Karl, so if you wish you can also bring someone along", my mother explained
This made me feel better almost immediately. Going to the ball with Clay and my other friends? That's like a dream come true!
"Alright, well I'll probably bring Clay", I said in response to what they had just told me. After that we just ate in silence before i excused myself from the table.
I quickly headed up to my room where I could finally be alone with me and my books. I had finished the first part of the hunger games so i was now reading the second one. Before I heard a slight knocking on my door. "uhm..come in?", i said, mostly because who would knock on my door now it was no one home except me, my mom and dad.
It was my dad standing in the doorway. "So George, i just wanted to talk to you a little bit", he said and sat down on my bed. Which I did not allow him to in the first place.
Me and dad never had a strong relationship, mostly because we were both very different. Like I'd rather sit and read then learn how to play football
"So George what i wanted to talk about was that, it's hard.", he started with. I just looked at him with a confused expression. "What I mean is it's hard finding the right one, it may take a while before you find her. But when you do you will never be happier", he smiled at me. It wasn't a soothing smile, I made an effort to try and smile back.
He spoke a little bit more and I nodded and put in 'mhhms' where they needed to be, "But I know it's hard. Women, I tell you women", he laughed a little bit and patted my shoulder. Before standing up and leaving.
I didn't like how my parents always were like 'you'll find HER soon' and 'women i tell you women'. Like what if I just wanted to like a boy? Like Clay, he was perfect in every single way according to me.
I'd rather marry him than anyone in the world actually.
But I really had to see Sapnap tomorrow and ask for help on what to do because I had no idea. Also what was I gonna wear? I really wasn't feeling like wearing a suit.
But now I was tired and wanted to go to bed so I went to the bathroom to get ready.
-Time skip to when he's in bed-
Lying comfortably in my bed I looked out through the window, watching the calm breeze stroke against all the flowers and bushes. How was it possible that I missed Clay already? It was ridiculous.
I saw a little bird fly by which made me think of something. Wait, didn't we have a letter dove? I think we did. Letter doves delivered small notes or letters to anywhere you told them to go.
I had no clue how they knew where to go but they did.
So I stood up and went over to my window to open it. Then I put two fingers in my mouth and whistled. It took a little bit but soon a white little dove came flying and sat down on the ledge of my window.
Quickly I went over to my desk and scribbled a quick note and put it in a little metal cylinder. I hung it around the dove's neck and told it where it should go before I sent it away. It flew off into the distance. Wonder if Clay would respond right away.
I kept waiting by the window trying to see when it came back. It felt like it took forever but really it had just gone a couple of minutes. Then I saw it flying towards me.
The dove landed on my windowsill and I opened the little metal cylinder. I gently folded up Clays note making sure not to rip it. "I also miss you <33 also mind if i come over tomorrow even tho its weekend? i wanna see you :)"
I smiled at the note and wrote "Yep! I'm just gonna go to my cousin's house in the morning because I need his help, but I'll come over when I'm back <3" I put it back into the cylinder and sent the dove away. The dove quickly came back with a note that said "ok <3"
Letting the dove fly back to its nest, or wherever it lived. I layed down in my bed once again trying to sleep.
Slowly i drifted to sleep
