So you all may think now, that George finally gets the summer he always dreamed off. And everything just worked out after that.

Because he did

..right?

George's POV:

I glanced out the window watching the rain pouring down. It had been raining for the last couple of days. Sitting upside down in the couch i kicked my feet, trying to think of something to do.

An idea popped into my head. "Clayyy, you wanna go in to town for a bit?", I asked and sat upright. He peered over to the window seeing the rain fall down. "Isn't it really cold and wet outside?", he complained.

I stood up and grabbing his hand. "We're going to town let's go!", I pulled him over to the hallway to get some raincoats.

I buttoned mine up and Clay took his off the coat racket. He also grabbed his rain hat, pulling it over his head. Clay hated the way he looked in the rain hat. But I'm my opinion rain hat was adorable, so I did my best to suppress a giggle on how ridiculously cute he looked.

Wearing our rain boots we walked into the pouring rain with an umbrella. Slowly walking trough the forest. His warm hand grabbed mine.

The town was relatively empty, because of the weather people seemed to rather stay inside than go out.

"Maybe we should walk in and say hello to bad and them?", I suggested. Clay nodding his head in agreement. First we stopped by Minx and Niki to see how their tailor shop was doing.

They told us it had been pretty calm these last couple of days. Not too many orders, but they were currently working on a couple of dresses for a girls wedding. Nothing much really.

Walking out of the shop we started heading towards bad's café. Glancing around I saw a couple of guards. Altough I didn't pay much attention to them. Since guards would usually be out on patrol in town every now and then, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

But then I saw how they started talking and pointing at us. Feeling their eyes prickling on our backs, I started to subtly increase our walking speed. But they caught up to us.

They didn't say anything to us. But suddenly they had shoved Clay and taken him, one guard each holding his arms.

He squirmed under their grip, screaming at them to let him go.

"Let me go!", he yelled to them but they kept pulling him away.

Panic rose in my chest, my heart pounding. What was I gonna do? There's no way I can convince them to let him go.

Wait

I'm technically still the prince

They can take orders from me.

I barged towards them as fast as I could.

"Guards!", I yelled. They stopped walking and stared at me. "As your prince I order you to let that man go!", I said angrily. They glanced at each other, not sure if to follow my orders or not.

But eventually they dropped Clay and he fell to the ground. They walked away glaring at us. I ran up to him to help him up. Deciding it would be best for us to get back home.

Walking home we didn't say anything. I felt that there was something really bad going on, no guards would have taken a citizen like that unless king and queens orders.

They were definitely up to something.

We opened the door and Clay stepped inside, me following along behind him. "You guys are home early, did something happen?", Rose asked us.

Clay sat down on a chair and began to explain the previous event of the afternoon. There was now a concerned look on her face. "They're up to something", she mumbled and washed off the mug she was holding.

We spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing, but it was unusually quiet. And not that comfortable atmosphere that usually surrounded the home.

That's when we heard a pounding knock on the door.

Me and Clay stared at the door. Both trying to decide wether we should open it or not.

Finally I decided to get up and open the door. Another knock was heard on the door. Slowly I turned the doorknob and..

"Sapnap?!", i exclaimed.

He was panting and rambling about something. "George..Clay- the king- you need to go!", he was panicking. "Sap calm down!", I yelled, my heart pounding in my chest.

He caught his breath and stared directly into my eyes.

"George. You need to get out of here", he said sternly. I just stared at him. "May I ask why?", I questioned.

He took a deep breath

"George. Your parents are going to execute you and Clay"

Suddenly the room felt cold.

"What?"

They want to kill me.

My own parents, they want me dead.

Clay was also just staring at him. Rose stepped in. "Get your bags boys. We gotta get you out of here right now", she spoke.

Suddenly, we were running around, gathering anything and everything we could possibly need. We had no idea how long we where gonna be gone, or even where we're going.

Stuffing our things into bags Clay grabbed as much money he could find. But left enough for his mom and sister to live on.

I didn't even know what we packed, we just took everything and shoved it down in a bag.

"We'll leave tonight", I stated, we needed a bit of sleep so we wouldn't be exhausted.

Rose nodded at us, but she wouldn't look Clay in the eye.

Me and Clay went ahead and laid down on his mattress with our bags close by.
