Time continued to pass and there had been no word on Sirius Black. We all feared the moment he would make a reappearance. I was walking through the corridor with Remus when we heard Severus's voice. We quickly turned the corner as we heard Severus hissing at a student.

"Why you insolent little-."

"Professor!" Remus interrupted as we turned the corner, seeing Harry and Severus standing there.

"Well well... Lupin. Out for a little walk in the moonlight... are we?"

"Harry... are you alright?" Remus asked, walking toward Harry. Severus's eyes locked on mine, giving me a curious look but I glared daggers at him.

"That remains to be seen," Severus hissed, snatching a bit of parchment from Harry. "I have just now confiscated a rather curious artifact from Mr. Potter. Take a look, Lupin. Supposed to be your area of expertise. Clearly, it's full of dark magic."

Remus looked over the parchment before turning to Severus.

"I seriously doubt it, Severus. It looks to me as though it's merely a parchment designed to insult anyone who tries to read it. I suspect it's a Zonko's product."

Severus tried to grab the parchment but Remus pulled it away. "Nevertheless. I shall investigate any hidden qualities it may possess. It is, after all, as you say, my area of expertise. Harry, would you come with Professor Y/l/n and I?" Remus asked before nodding to Severus, saying good night and we left. Severus eyed me curiously but I could only shake my head.

"Y/n..."

"Severus, I need to speak with Remus and my godson," I said, noticing that Harry and Remus had stopped just a few feet away, waiting for me. "We'll talk later." With that, I turned away from him and left with Harry and Remus.

"Rem, what's going on?" I whispered. He quickly thrust the parchment in my hands, looking concerned. I opened it, noticing the familiar detailing. Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. I looked up at him as we reached the door to his classroom. He quickly opened the door, ushering Harry inside.

"Come in. Now, I haven't the faintest idea, Harry, how this map came to be in your possession, but quite frankly I am astounded that you didn't hand it in. Did it ever occur to you that this, in the hands of Sirius Black, is a map to you?" he asked, gesturing the map in my hands.

Harry shook his head. "No, sir."

"You know, your father never set much store by the rules either but he and your mother gave their lives to save yours. And gambling their sacrifice by wandering around the castle unprotected with a killer on the loose seems to be a pretty poor way to repay them! Now, I will not cover up for you again, Harry? Do you hear me?

"Yes, sir," Harry nodded.

"I want you to return to your dormitory and stay there. And don't take any detours. If you do... we shall know," he said, once again gesturing to the parchment in my hands.

"Professors... just so you know... I don't think that map always works," Harry said, stopping at the door.

Remus and I turned to Harry, curiously, as he continued speaking.

"Earlier on it showed someone in the castle. Someone I know to be dead."

"Oh, really? And who might that be?"

"Peter Pettigrew."

My eyes shot up, watching Harry cautiously, though I knew he wouldn't lie about something like this.

"That's not possible," Remus replied softly.

"It's just what I saw," Harry replied, turning toward the door and leaving the classroom. "Good night, Professors."
