Phoebe has officially been discharged. Cassandra just signed the papers half an hour ago. Right now, Phoebe is on a wheelchair with Cassandra behind her. They were waiting for Victoria to bring the car. The omega had insisted on not using the wheelchair, wanting to walk on her own instead. Her pleas fell on deaf ears though. All it took was one glare from Victoria and she sat herself on the wheelchair.
Over the past few days, Phoebe got to know her alphas. Just like alphas in general, they're very dominant. So far, Victoria seemed like a textbook example of an alpha. She's assertive, she has this domineering personality. Although Phoebe knew Victoria would never do anything bad to her, she still intimidated the hell out of Phoebe. You should've seen the look Victoria had every time a nurse came to check on Phoebe. She was watching her every move, not taking her eyes off, chills ran through Phoebe's body seeing Victoria. Cassandra is different. While sometimes Victoria could be cold and aloof, Cassandra was warm and amiable. She smiled more than Victoria. And when she was in the room when a nurse came to check on Phoebe, she greeted them, made small talk, and always made sure to say thank you before the nurse left. Despite the stark difference between those two, Phoebe could tell that the two alphas balanced each other.
A black jeep stopped in front of them. Victoria climbed out the car, opening the door for Phoebe. Cassandra helped Phoebe stand, Victoria went to her other side, offering her arm for Phoebe to hold on to. Both of the alphas guide their mate into the car. Once they made sure the omega settled in nicely inside, Victoria got into the passenger seat, while Cassandra got into the driver's seat, driving them to their home.
It was a twenty minute ride to their apartment building. Cassandra parked in the basement. Both the alphas helped Phoebe out of the car. And three of them made their way past the security guard and into the elevator. And Phoebe wasn't surprised when she saw Victoria pushing the button taking them to the top floor. Of course they had the penthouse. She shouldn't be surprised, Victoria screamed wealth all over.
The elevator door opened with a ding, revealing a large entryway. They stepped into the apartment. It was dominantly white with a splash of gray here and there. There was a large portrait of Cassandra and Victoria at their wedding. Below it was a table full of framed pictures of them both. Phoebe perked up on the sight of the baby grand piano on the corner. She made a mental note to ask them if she could use it later.
Cassandra was the first one to speak, "So, we prepared a guest room for you. We don't want to make you uncomfortable by forcing you to sleep with us, although we would really like it if you sleep in our bedroom, there's enough space for the three of us."
"I think I'll take the guest room for now. That is, if you don't mind." Sure, they're mates, but Phoebe had only known them for what? Five days? And this week has been a roller coaster for her. A space of her own might do her good for now.
"I got detective Wilson to get some clothes from your house. They're in here." Victoria walked over to the wardrobe before she opened the door next to it. "And here's the bathroom."
"If you need anything, just call us. Or you could go to our room, it's right next to this one if you need anything. Feel free to come anytime, you don't need to hesitate. Vic here might seem scary, but thank God you have me!" Cassandra laughed.
"Hey!" Victoria complained.
Phoebe gave the alphas a smile. They talked a bit more. The alphas offered Phoebe to sleep at their room again which Phoebe declined, assuring them she would be fine and will tell them if she needs anything.
To say the room is neat was an understatement. Everything was immaculate. White dominated the room. In the middle of the room was a queen sized bed, a gray comforter on top of it. A light maple wardrobe tucked in the corner of the room. Phoebe opened the door revealing a decent sized bathroom. Bigger than the one at her house that's for sure. Like the bedroom, everything was white. Phoebe decided it's time for a shower. She went back to her bedroom and took a blue oversized shirt and a pair of black leggings before she took a long warm shower.
—
Phoebe just finished her shower. Her hair clung on her forehead, still damp from the shower. A towel draped on her shoulders. She was sitting on the bed, still in the middle of drying her hair with the towel when a knock was heard.
"Come in!" she called.
The door opened and Victoria let herself in. This might be the first time Phoebe saw her looking so casual. She was wearing her blue yale hoodie paired with gray sweatpants. And her hair was up in a ponytail. A pair of glasses perched on her face. Phoebe blushed at the realization that she's checking out the older woman. She just hoped Victoria didn't realize it. And that might be true since Victoria was too busy staring at Phoebe at that time.
"Casey made lunch, thought I should get you." It took everything for Victoria to not pounce at her omega. To see Phoebe in something other than a hospital gown, sitting on the bed, fresh from the shower, if things were different, she would've taken her right there and then. But she knew better. Phoebe needs to recover. And she wants to know Phoebe better before doing it. The omega went through a lot of things and Victoria doesn't want to overwhelm her.
"That would be nice, I didn't really eat much this morning. The hospital's breakfast was not that good." Phoebe went to the bathroom and hung the towel before returning to the bedroom. She followed Victoria into the kitchen. Cassandra was just putting the last plate on the table, when they arrived.
"I see you've showered. Did you have any trouble doing it? Did anything hurt?" Cassandra pulled one of the chairs, motioning Phoebe to sit on it.
"I did. And there were no problems. The bruises are still there though, but it doesn't hurt as much." Phoebe gave a smile to Cassandra, thanking her.
"I hope you like roasted chicken" On top of each plate was a roasted chicken breast with potatoes, carrots, and zucchinis at the sides.
Phoebe waited for the alphas to start eating before she began to eat. She hummed at the flavor of the chicken.
"Do you like it?" Cassandra asked.
Phoebe nodded eagerly, "This is really good! Do you often cook?"
"Not really, only when I have the time. We usually have takeouts for dinner on weekdays. But I try to cook every other weekend. Too many takeouts can't be good." Cassandra shrugged.
"Do you cook too?" Phoebe asked Victoria, to which the latter shook her head.
"Vicky here nearly burned the apartment trying to cook." Cassandra teased.
"She's exaggerating" The blonde grumbled.
"Anyways, she's banned near the stove. And unless you count making sandwiches as cooking" Cassandra laughed.
Cassandra took the empty dishes, rinsed them, and put them in the dishwasher after they finished eating. Phoebe offered to do the dishes only to be refused.
"You know, I'm not a bad cook. I can cook dinner on weekdays if it's okay with you both." Phoebe offered as she sat on the sofa in the living room. Victoria was flipping through tv channels next to her.
"You don't have to-" Victoria started.
"But I want to," Phoebe cut in. "It's the least I can do. Both of you have been nothing but kind to me. I just want to return the favor"
"You don't need to return anything to us." Victoria looked at her.
"Plus, it's our job to take care of you. You don't owe us anything." Cassandra added, taking the empty spot at Phoebe's other side.
"And I want to take care of my alphas" Phoebe looked at both alphas. Both the alphas felt happiness and pride when Phoebe referred to them as her alphas.
"Please let me take care of you both. I want to." Phoebe insisted. "I promise I won't burn down the apartment"
Cassandra let out a laugh at that. Victoria let out a little smile before giving a nod to Cassandra.
"Okay then, thank you for wanting to take care of us," Cassandra smiled.
