"The people would like to call Phoebe Walters to the stand your Honor." James said to the judge.
The time has finally come for Phoebe to go to court. Fortunately, Victoria and Cassandra were able to take a day off to attend court. Phoebe walked up to the stand and took a seat. Phoebe was a little nervous when they told her she needed to take the stand in court, but James and Victoria had prepared her for this.
James asked her about the abuse, what her father did, how long has this been going on. Phoebe recounted everything her father did and answered all of James' questions smoothly.
"Thank you miss Walters. That's all your honor" James returned to his seat.
George then stood from his seat.
"Why didn't you report me before?" He asked Phoebe.
"I thought you would stop." She answered.
"So you were okay with it?"
"Of course no!" Phoebe denied.
"You're a grown up Phoebe. If you weren't really okay with it, or if you really thought you're in danger, you would've probably called the police or something." George blabbered.
"Objection. Speculation your honor." James argued.
"Sustained. Move on mister Walters" The judge nodded.
It seemed that George wasn't happy hearing that.
"What is your status Phoebe?" He resumed his questions.
"Objection! Relevance?" James launched an objection again.
The judge looked at George.
"I'm getting there your honor." he said.
"Overruled" the judge dismissed the objection. "Answer the question miss Walters"
"I'm an omega."
"And I am an alpha and also your father. So it is a given that you shall obey me. You belong to me as long as you are not claimed by another alpha!" he boasted.
"But no father beat his own daughter!" Phoebe retorted.
"I didn't beat you! I disciplined you! I have every right to do anything to you when you disobey me!" George started walking towards Phoebe. Both Cassandra and Victoria could smell Phoebe's distress from their seats. Cassandra almost went up to the stand herself if not for Victoria's hand stopping her. As much as Victoria wanted to go up and protect her mate, she knew she couldn't. They'll be thrown out from the room, and Phoebe needs them inside. And Victoria does not want to risk a mistrial if chaos erupts. There were officers standing on every corner of the courtroom, Victoria knew if this escalated, the officers would immediately take George.
"What kind of father forced his daughter to buy him alcohol every single second of the day? You told me to starve myself when I said I don't have enough money to buy you beer!" Phoebe yelled.
"You killed my wife! You owe me that!"
"What? I did not!"
"Order! Mister Walters, I suggest you calm down or I'll hold you in contempt." The judge said.
"No! That bitch killed my wife! She killed her own mother!" He started walking towards Phoebe. "She's lucky I only beat her, I should've killed her!" George hollered marching towards the stand.
"Mister Walters! Officers! Mister Walters, I'm holding you in contempt! Take him!" The judge banged his gavel.
The officers managed to get him just as he reached the stand. He put up a struggle but he lost in numbers. The officers took him away and the judge dismissed the court. Victoria and Cassandra immediately made their way to the stand. Phoebe stood up and ran to her alphas, meeting them halfway. Cassandra took Phoebe in her arms. The omega was crying and shaking. Victoria rubbed her omega's back. She never felt this angry before.
"Take her to the car. I'm going to talk to James, it won't take long." Victoria told Cassandra. She gave Phoebe a kiss on top of her head before Cassandra led her away.
"I'm not letting her go back to court." She asserted to James.
The prosecutor nodded. "She doesn't have too. I think the judge and the juries had seen enough. I'll keep you updated."
Victoria gave him a nod before leaving to the car, not wanting to waste another second away from her omega.
