Things were going well for the three women. Phoebe made sure to make them breakfast in the mornings before the alphas went to work. And when they're back from work, Phoebe made sure a warm meal is always ready on the table for them.
But during the day? Phoebe was bored. Of course she had the piano, but to play it all day long? Sure, Phoebe loves the piano, but it's too much for her.
She spent a lot of her free time thinking. One thing that kept coming up to mind was the idea of going back to work. She called her boss yesterday, and it turned out that words spread fast. Her boss knew what happened and offered to give Phoebe her spot back.
And that is how Phoebe ended up in this situation. She can't help but to feel nervous about telling her alphas that she's going to work starting next week. How am I going to tell them? Phoebe pinched the bridge of her nose.
The sound of the door opening surprised Phoebe.
"Phoebe? I'm home" Cassandra's voice filled the apartment.
Phoebe went to the front door and greeted the red head.
"Your heartbeat was louder than usual, is everything okay?" Cassandra asked Phoebe with a hint of worry.
"Everything is fine, I was just surprised to see you home early."
It was not fully a lie. Both the alphas usually arrive at seven. Some days Cassandra went home late. But it's unusual for her to get back early. During Phoebe's stay here, this is probably the first time Cassandra got back early."Really?" Cassandra asked again, her left eyebrow raised.
Phoebe just gave her a nod.
"I don't really like it when people lie to me, Phoebe. Yes, there was a spike in your heartbeat when I opened the door. But I can already hear your heartbeat going louder than usual before I even opened the door. So is there anything you'd like to say?"
Between the two alphas, Cassandra was the not scary one. While Victoria usually sounds cold, Cassandra was the opposite. She smiled most of the time and was always gentle. So when she lowered her tone, Phoebe couldn't help but be intimidated.
"I guess there is something…" Phoebe started.
Cassandra just gave her a look that said continue.
"It's not that important actually. Maybe we can talk about it when Victoria gets home? After dinner?"
Cassandra gave Phoebe a look before she slowly nodded.
"Okay then, after dinner."
—
Phoebe had planned ahead for this. She made steak for dinner which is Victoria's favorite and chocolate pudding for dessert which was Cassandra's favorite.
"You're spoiling us tonight Phoebe. Does it have something to do with what you want to talk about?" Victoria asked as she loaded the dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
"Well, I've been thinking of going back to work." Phoebe started.
Both the alphas gave Phoebe an incredulous look.
Phoebe decided to continue. "I talked to my boss this morning and he gave me my old spot back. I can start next week. I told him I was going to confirm with you guys first though."
"And why do you want to do that?" Cassandra questioned.
"Well for starters, I have nothing to do all day except cook our meals and play the piano. And I figured I could pitch in on some of the groceries-"
"Well then, what do you want to do? Paint? We could buy you the supplies. And you know we do have TV and internet right? Just say what you want to do and we'll make sure you can do it. As for pitching in, I thought we made it clear that both of us are perfectly capable supporting all of our needs. And when I say our, that includes you." Victoria didn't let me finish.
"But I want to. I just feel so useless. I've put you both through so much trouble. And both of you have given me so much. I just want to return the favor. I just feel bad seeing you guys taking care of me and I'm not doing anything in return." Phoebe tried explaining.
"You did not give us trouble. George did. You on the other hand, are a different story. You cooked us meals. You welcome us when we get home. You asked about our day. What you said before was wrong. You're more than enough for us Phoebe" Cassandra stated.
Phoebe can feel her tears coming up.
She got off her chair and rushed towards Cassandra. The omega hugged the red headed alpha tightly. Phoebe mumbled the words "thank you" over and over again.
After Phoebe let go of Cassandra she went to her other alpha. This time Victoria put Phoebe on her lap before letting the omega hug her.
Victoria began to speak once she felt the omega calmed down. "How about going back to school instead? And before you start, Cassandra and I will take care of everything."
"Yeah, personally, I think it's a great idea for you to finish school" Cassandra agreed.
When Phoebe raised her head, making eye contact with the other two, the alphas could see the twinkle in their omega's eyes.
"I'd love to but I couldn't possibly ask you to cover everything-"
"You don't have to ask, we're offering," Cassandra insisted.
"So, it's a no for me working?"
Both the alpha nodded.
"How about I'll work just until I start school?" Phoebe tried to bargain.
The alphas were about to say no when Phoebe gave them her puppy eyes.
"Pretty please alpha?"
Victoria looked at Cassandra, seeing her wife nod. She let out a sigh before muttering an okay to Phoebe.
"Thank you!" Phoebe exclaimed in glee. She got off Victoria's lap and gave each alpha a kiss on the cheeks before excusing herself to call her boss at the restaurant.
Victoria and Cassandra were left dumbstruck. It was the first time Phoebe ever gave them a kiss.
