The door to the restaurant slammed open, making way for the furious blonde followed by an equally furious redhead.

Both of them frantically scanned the area before their eyes landed on the omega sitting hunched on one of the booths opposite a middle aged man.

Casey immediately rushed towards Phoebe, holding her before inspecting the latter's body. A barrage of questions came flying from her mouth.

Behind her Victoria approached the booth, in a more collected manner than her wife.

"Victoria Arnault. Thank you for calling me." Victoria introduced herself, shaking Marc's hand. "And that is my wife, Cassandra. Forgive her, she can't stop panicking and worrying when we receive your call." She nodded to Casey who's busy hugging Phoebe.

"You must be her alphas. I'm Marc, pleasure to meet you" Marc said as he scooted deeper into the booth, offering a seat to Victoria.

"While we have all three of you here, I think it is best to talk about Phoebe's time here with us. Considering what happened just now, I think it would be better for Phoebe to stop working here." Marc began.

"But-" Phoebe looked up at Marc.

"Let me continue" Her boss raised both his hands in surrender. "It's just, I have to consider the safety issues. Truthfully speaking, if today's event repeats itself, we could lose customers. It's not that I don't want you here or anything. I really do hope you'll understand. But the safety and business of the-"

"We understand." Victoria interjects when Marc started rambling. "I understand that it is the best course of action. And I am sure Cassandra agrees with me." Victoria looked at Casey, receiving a nod from the redhead, "I also hope that Phoebe understands that too and and can see that this is for everyone's safety including herself." Her gaze shifted to Phoebe.

Phoebe was about to object, but a look accompanied by a squeeze from Casey stopped her.

"Give me a minute to grab some cash to pay you," Marc stood up, "it was nice to see you again Phoebe, maybe you can stop by sometime in the future when everything settles down."

"I can speak for myself you know," Phoebe mumbled from the backseat. They were in the car, halfway home. The fact that Victoria just assumed she understands, and Casey not letting her speak at the diner doesn't sit well with Phoebe.

"What?" Victoria said from the passenger seat, not hearing Phoebe clearly.

"I said, I can speak for myself. You basically quit my job on my behalf!" Phoebe stated, this time with more conviction, Her eyes glaring at Victoria's through the rearview mirror before shifting to the driver's side of the car. " And you stopped me from speaking. God, what was I thinking?" She exclaimed, covering her face with both hands. "I could've negotiated with Marc, he would've let me continue working. I mean, the cops arrested that bastard, he shouldn't worry about it happening again."

"Phoebe, what are-"

"I am not finished. I just needed a bit more time to think and finish processing what just happened. But Victoria, you just had to take over and 'speak' for me, and you basically shut my mouth Cassandra!" Phoebe didn't even realize Casey had pulled up to their usual parking spot at the apartment.

"Phoebe, honey, I think you should take a breath and calm down a bit." Casey took off her seatbelt and turned to the backseat, looking at her distressed omega.

"Calm down? You're telling me to calm down? I was harassed this morning and I lost my job because of it. And I don't have any say on it! I guess to some degree, all alphas are the same. You think you know better, Of course, you know what's best for me more than myself." Phoebe was seething at the end of her rant.

"We should continue this conversation at the apartment, why don't we all get out of the car. I can make us some tea, and we can continue this talk calmly" Casey suggested, trying to deescalate the situation.

"And what do you mean that all alphas are the same? Are you trying to compare me to the man that tried to kidnap you from work? Your dad maybe? Don't you dare compare me to the likes of them, Phoebe."

Casey groaned and put her head on the steering wheel when Victoria talked. Pride was always one of Victoria's vices. And the fact that Phoebe was the one to take a jab on her pride just worsened things.

"Vic..." Casey warned the other alpha.

"No, she needs to understand Case," Vic looked pleadingly to the redhead before turning back to Phoebe. "One. By next week, your dad's friend will be back on the streets. You might be safe for a couple of days, but he'll be back. Do you really want a repeat of today's event? Sure we could file a restraining order against him. But do you think it'll stop him? I am sure as hell it won't."

Hearing no response from Phoebe, Victoria continued her rant.

"Two. I just can't wrap my head around you comparing us, your alphas, to those men. What did we ever do to you? " The alpha's voice softened.

All three of them just sat in the car. No words exchanged. The alphas stare at Phoebe, occasionally checking on each other.

"I need to think. Don't follow me" Phoebe got out of the car, and walked out the parking area, leaving the two alphas in the car.
