It has been three weeks since Phoebe slept in Casey and Victoria's bedroom for the first time. That night marked the beginning of a new ritual. The omega started sleeping in her alphas' bedroom much to their content.
During the nights after, Phoebe found herself drifting to slumber easily, unlike before. It was awkward in the beginning.
—
Cassandra knocked on Phoebe's door before opening it, revealing the latter sitting on her bed, back against the headboard, knees tucked underneath her chin.
"Victoria told me that you were going to sleep with us again tonight. I thought I should check up on you since it's getting late and you're still... here" Casey sat on the edge of the bed, opposite the omega.
Phoebe stared at Casey, biting her lips. "I did say that this morning, but I-" She started to pick on her nails, a habit of Phoebe that Casey just realized. She needs to get that sorted out with the omega someday.
"I thought about it again, and I don't want to intrude" Phoebe mumbled, looking away from the alpha.
"Nonsense, you're not intruding and we would very much like for you to sleep with us" Casey moved, planting herself right in front of Phoebe. She took the omega's hands on her own. "We're not forcing you, but you're welcome in our room, hell, I want to sleep next to you" she added.
Phoebe sat there thinking for a while, Casey's rubbing circles on her hand with her thumb.
"Well, you did say Victoria would want me to herself tonight" The omega let out a shy smile.
"She does," Casey laughed.
—
That initial awkwardness dissolved after a few nights, replaced by the serene tranquility that settled upon Phoebe as she lay between the alphas at night. The nightmares became less frequent and less menacing.
Victoria and Cassandra had this knack for sensing Phoebe's distress. They would be up at the slightest whimper of the omega. Even at the slightest stir of Phoebe's form in the middle of the night. Victoria was quick to wrap her arms around her omega. Casey's comforting words anchored Phoebe back to reality. The nightmares didn't last long with her alphas next to her, and Phoebe was grateful.

Today marks the end of Phoebe's first month back at work. It was a little bit overwhelming at first, her coworkers asking her about what happened and all, even Stacy, who has never even spared a glance at Phoebe at work before.
Everything went back to almost normal after about a week. Almost. Phoebe tried ignoring it, but she just can't help but to notice the pitying looks she got from everyone.
And it affects Phoebe. The looks they gave her, although not ill-purposed, bugged Phoebe.
In her mind, there must be something wrong with her. No one gives pitiful looks to a "normal someone".
This makes Phoebe wonder, does Cassandra and Victoria pity her? Phoebe has nothing under her name. No money, no house, no car, she didn't even finish school. Sure she chips in on the groceries and cooks them food. But all of that is nothing compared to what the alphas' have.
The thoughts of not being decent enough for her alphas kept swirling in her mind. Do they really love her? Want her? Or do they just take her out of pity?
"Hey, table five asked for you," Stacy called out, snapping Phoebe out of her musings.
"Sure, be right there" Phoebe replied. It's not common that someone asked specifically for her. In fact, only one person usually does that, Mrs. Norris, probably the only person who was kind to Phoebe back when she still lived with her father.
Mrs. Norris is your typical sweet elderly grandma. Phoebe remembered being invited to her house for tea and cookies although she had started declining the offer after her father started hitting her. From that point onwards, the only time can meet Mrs. Norris was at the restaurant.
Phoebe walked towards table 5 with a slight hop in her steps, excited about seeing the elderly lady. But 10 steps away from her table her steps faltered. Unless Mrs. Norris started weightlifting and bulking on protein, the person sitting on the table is definitely not Mrs. Norris at the table.
And that tattoo on his back, she recognized that. Phoebe quickly made a u-turn, heading back towards the kitchen. She was so close to the kitchen door when a hand touched her shoulder.
"And where do you think you're going?"
