"What can Dobby do for young masters." a high pitched voiced asked. The Non-Magicals stared in shock at who the voice belonged to. It was a little creature with ears to big for his head and huge eyeballs. He was wearing a dark suit with a crest with a giant P on it. "Glad that actually worked." Jason muttered.

Harry fills the house elf what was going on and soon Dobby sat between the Potter Twins

Harry managed not to shout out, but only because Jason covered his mouth with his hand. The little creature on the bed had large, bat-like ears and bulging green eyes the size of tennis balls. Harry knew instantly that this was what had been watching them out of the garden hedge that morning.

"Is that you?" Steve asks the elf who nods

As they stared at each other, Harry heard Dudley's voice from the hall.

"May I take your coats, Mr. and Mrs. Mason?"

The creature slipped off the bed and bowed so low that the end of its long, thin nose touched the carpet. Harry noticed that it was wearing what looked like an old pillowcase, with rips for arm- and leg-holes

"I see you've upgraded your fashion sense." Toni says and Jason frowns a little, he wasn't going to let Dobby wear those horrible rags when he worked for them now.

"Er—hello," said Harry nervously.

Behind him Jason snorted at his greeting.

"The Potter Brothers!" said the creature in a high-pitched voice Harry was sure would carry down the stairs. "So long has Dobby wanted to meet you, sir... Such an honor it is..."

"This did nothing but inflate Jason's ego." Harry says, causing some snickers and Jason to pout

"Th-thank you," said Harry, edging along the wall and sinking into his desk chair, next to Hedwig, who was asleep in her large cage. while Jason leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest.  He wanted to ask, "What are you?" but thought it would sound too rude, so instead he said, "Who are you?"

"I least someone has tact." Ginny says, and Jason just grins at the redhead he considers a little sister "You wound me Ginny." Jason says "Good."

"Dobby, sir. Just Dobby. Dobby the house-elf," said the creature.

"Oh—really?" said Harry. "Er—I don't want to be rude or anything, but—this isn't a great time for me to have a house-elf in my bedroom."

Aunt Petunia's high, false laugh sounded from the living room. The elf hung his head "You hurt his feelings." Jason says, elbowing him

"Not that I'm not pleased to meet you," said Harry quickly, "but, er, is there any particular reason you're here?"

"That doesn't sound like you're pleased to meet him." Harley says

"Oh, yes, sirs," said Dobby earnestly. "Dobby has come to tell you, sirs... it is difficult, sirs... Dobby wonders where to begin..."

"Sit down," said Harry politely, pointing at the bed.

To his horror, the elf burst into tears—very noisy tears.

Jason groaned beside him

"I was sure Vernon was going to come up the stairs any second." Jason says

"S-sit down!" he wailed. "Never... never ever..."

Harry thought he heard the voices downstairs falter.
