Jason had no idea how he got back to Hogwarts, everything a blur before finding himself in front of the Ravenclaw Common Room entrance. Just as he was about to enter the Common Room, he was met by Blaise, Daphne, and Theo, their faces reflecting his own concern.
"You alright, Jason?" Blaise asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
Jason nodded, though his thoughts were elsewhere. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."
Jason leaned against the wall and slid down it, finally sitting on his rear as he looked up at his friends with a mixture of confusion and anger. "Why had nobody ever told us?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. "Dumbledore, Hagrid, Mr. Weasley, Cornelius Fudge... why hadn't anyone ever mentioned the fact that our parents had died because their best friend had betrayed them?" he demanded, slamming his fist against his leg in frustration.
Mr. Weasley spoke up "I wanted to protect you," he said softly. "I believed that keeping the truth from you would shield you from more pain."
Toni's eyes blazed with anger. "How was not telling them the truth protecting them?" she demanded, her voice trembling with emotion. "They had a right to know."
This was reminding her far to much of Bucky and her parents
The room fell silent, the weight of Jason's words hanging heavily in the air. Blaise, Daphne, and Theo exchanged concerned glances, unsure of how to comfort their friend.
Daphne knelt beside him, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I don't know, Jason. Maybe they thought it was best not to tell you. Maybe they thought it would protect you."
Theo nodded, his expression somber. "But it doesn't change the fact that you have a right to know. We'll figure this out together."
Blaise sat down next to Jason, his voice calm and reassuring. "We're here for you, Jason. You're not alone in this."
Jason took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. "Thanks, guys. I just... I can't believe it."
Later, Jason sat at the Ravenclaw table, his mind still buzzing with the recent revelations about their parents. As he stabbed his steak in anger, he noticed the concerned looks from Daphne, Blaise, Theo, Ron, and Hermione. They were all watching him and Harry with worry etched on their faces.
Jason's eyes drifted to Luna Lovegood, who was sitting nearby. She looked at him airily, her usual dreamy expression unchanged, even as he scowled at his disfigured steak. Her calm demeanor was almost soothing amidst the storm of emotions he was feeling.
Luna's presence, as strange as it was, offered a small comfort.
Later that evening, Jason sat in the Common Room, grappling with the day's revelations. His thoughts churned like a storm, each more troubling than the last. He stared blankly into the fire, lost in thought. Suddenly, he noticed Luna approaching him, her dreamy expression as unwavering as ever.
Nearby, Charlie was downing several fire whiskeys in a row. With a metallic burp, he blew a gust of fire out of the plate hole, causing the flames in the fireplace to flicker wildly.
Luna gracefully sat next to Jason, her presence somehow calming. "Hello, Jason," she said, her voice soft and melodic. "I understand. Life's events can be overwhelming sometimes."
Jason glanced at her, surprised by her perceptiveness. "It's just... a lot to process," he admitted, his voice heavy with frustration.
Luna nodded, her eyes distant yet focused. "It's okay to feel that way. Remember, you have friends who care about you. It's alright to lean on them when things get tough." She paused, her gaze turning even more ethereal. "And don't forget to take a moment to breathe. It helps clear the mind."
