"I think we should break here for lunch." Dumbledore says, and as if the room agreed with him it shifted into a dining area in the back, everyone going off to a table to eat and chat about the previous chapters, Peter and Harley joining the magical teens at their table again.
"How are you holding up?" Jason mumbles to Ginny.
"Fine, I'll be better when we finish this book."
Jason nods in understanding, neither noticing Peter looking over with a confused look on his face.
Over with the Avengers
The tension had lightened greatly between the former team, and they were casually talking to each other.
"I'm sorry I never told you about them." Toni says to Bruce, nodding her chin at where Jason and Harry were "I couldn't figure out how to tell you, it probably wouldn't have ended well if I went up to you randomly and said 'Hey did you know Howard Stark violated your privacy, stole your sperm and forced me to carry your babies. Oh but I gave them away."
Bruce didn't know what to say, unconsciously agreeing that would have turned about awful if Toni had done that, the big guy might have even come out.
A note appeared before Hagrid, who read the note and beamed before giving it to Dumbledore "Before we go back to the book, would our non-magical friends like to see some magical creatures?"
That got the Avengers and everyone else's attention, several doors appearing with a sign on them.
MoonCalfs
Hippogriffs
Threstals
Puffskeins
Niffler
Diriclaw
"We should probably save the Hippogriffs and Threstals for last." Jason says, several others nodding before entering the room marked 'Mooncalves.'
Toni and several other couldn't help but stare stunned at the strange creatures coming up to them.
"They're cute?" Toni says hesitantly, watching as Harley was scratching one's neck, the Mooncalf purring as it closed it's massive eyes.
The next room they went into was marked 'Puffskiens' and for a second Toni and the others thoughts they were sentient hair balls before seeing their eyes.
Clint's kids seemed mesmerized by the creatures, even being permitted to carry one in the reading room, though everyone laughed as Clint yelled in alarm as one of the Puffskein's tongue went up the archer's nose.
Next room was marked 'Diriclaws' and actually made the non magicals pause in shock "Are those Dodo birds?"
"It's what you called them, but we call them Diricawls."
"I thought they were extinct though, no one's seen them in hundreds of years." Toni says, and as if to prove a point all of the Diricawls disappeared with a pop, before reappearing in the trees before disappearing again.
"That will do it." Toni says, she gave up trying to think scientifically when it came to magic.
The next animal reminded Toni and the others of a platypus
That was until Harley let out an alarmed shout "That one stole my watch." and sure enough to the Avengers surprise, one of the small creatures had Harley's watch in its paws, the others swarming the niffler as it took off in a den under the tree.
"We probably should have warned you guys, they like shiny things."
Harley looked upset, until his watch appeared on his wrist again "I'm not even going to question it."'
However, Lila and Cooper were arguing over who got to feed one of the Nifflers that didn't run under the tree next, Cooper's face getting red before the brush seemed to fly into his hands.
As one, all the magical's heads in the roomed immediately snapped in their direction, all staring in surprise "Did- did he just...?" Daphne asked in shock.
"What's wrong?" Clint asked in concern, only for Jason to step forwards with a nod of encouragement from Dumbledore, brandishing from his robes a wand, Clint's keen eyes noticing it wasn't the walnut wand the boy had been using earlier.
"Humor us for a second and hold this would you?" Jason asks, holding out the wand for the boy, who took it after a nod from his parents.
Sparks immediately flew out of the wand's tip, Dumbledore nodding in satisfaction before turning to Clint "Your son Mr. Barton has magic." he announces, stunning the small family.
"Does that mean he'll go to your school when he's old enough?" Laura Barton asks in concern, hand on her son's shoulder "No, since you are American he should get a letter from Ilvermony."
The group then headed back into the reading room, Cooper actually looking excited as some of the older teens promised to teach him some basic spells before he received his own letter. Some of the older witches and wizards were telling Clint and Laura about Ilvermony, and the American Magical Government there
The all decided to leave the last two doors for later, gathering back in the room, Clint picking up the book again when there was no objections.
