"mrs jackson i would like to introduce you to our pediatric staff"

i waved timidly to the room full of people, as i laughed sheepishly," its nice to meet you all" i said.

the room filled with "hellos" and warm greetings.

" niara is going to be joining our team for the remainder of this week, make her feel welcome!"

i nervously smiled as i realized all eyes were on me, but i decided to play it off and keep moving. i looked to doctor baker for the next step as she handed me the new badge.

i placed it over my head and smiled, as i grabbed the folder in front of me and pivoted myself to face diego.

"dismissed" doctor baker said to the room.

"so, there are two patients i would love you two to meet" doctor baker announced," they are.. younger, than what you two usually work with.. but i feel as if you two would enjoy watching over them during your stay."

"i love kids" diego said soflty.

yea well, everyone says that until they have their own.

i quickly caught up to speed with the conversation, as we began to get briefed about the two girls. two twins, i must add. "ones name is jayla and the other is jasmine, both 5 years old. but both of them have the same form of leukemia, yet we still can identify how they both have it." doctor baker said.

"is it hereditary? or are the twins identical?"

"hereditary, no. there's no record anywhere of the two girls having any cancer on either sides of the family."

i rubbed my chin softly," wow.. thats.. strange" i added.

"i agree" diego said," but are they aware of their.. sickness?" he questioned.

"yes, they just have trouble understanding why at times. yet we make their stay as comfortable as possible.."

i sighed with slight relief as i asked," when do we get to meet the twins?"

"right now." she said, before opening two doors in front of us.

the room was big, and colorful as light pink and purple flooded the floors. the windows had a stained glass effect, and it was quite the sight to look at. the room had two beds, it was huge. and it was obvious the girls have been in there for a long time. the walls were covered in drawings and coloring pages of princesses to dinosaurs and common cartoon shows.

i stepped into the room, to see the two girls, eyes glued to the t.v. as i heard a familiar line. "it serves me right wishing on stars.."

unaware of my sudden fascination, i drew the girls attention to me and diego as the one in the pink shirt smiled," its tiana and naveen! jayla look!"

a blush filled my cheeks as i waved my hands out,"no no n-"

"yes! we're naveen and tiana, at your service." diego said, holding his hands out to the girls," how are you two."

almost immediately the two girls squealed and kicked their feet and jumped into his arms," ITS PRINCE NAVEEN!" they exclaimed.

i smiled brightly as i admired him as he spun the girls around in his arms as he held them tightly," come niara, join in"
