"it's raining." i sighed, as we buckled up.

"thanks for pointing out the obvious, niara." he said snarkily.

"just letting you know jackass." i said in response.

now honestly i could care less, i love the rain. i didn't expect it to rain but at the same time i figured it was going to happen at some point on our trip.

but the thing that keeps itching me the wrong way is the idea in the back of my head that this is all a way to fuck me over.

now you're probably saying," niara, it's never this serious, shut it."

but that's where you're wrong.

"niara." he said," what's eating at you."

"there's nothing eating at me." i laughed, more or so just a thought process and that's how i'm choosing to asses our situation."

"situation?" he questioned," im a little confused."

i rolled my eyes as he looked the other way before i smiled," nothing, let's get some food."

"yea?"

"yea."

"and after that?" he asked," what else is there to do here?"

"that's a great question, a library? museum? bookstore?"

"a museum sounds interesting." he said.

"yes, i agree." i laughed. i pulled out my phone and searched for the nearest museum near us.

not a museum.

not a museum

an aquarium.. hm?

"hey look, there's an aquarium" he said, pointing to the big ass aquarium that was next to us.

wow.

"i haven't been to one of those in forever." i looked at it, as the sign was a glowing blue, and it was beautiful..

"pretty.." i whispered.

"i know.." he responded," wanna get food first then the aquarium?" he asked gently.

"can we?" i asked.

"i don't mind at all, whatever you want i'm perfectly fine with.. and i believe it opens up at 11, and as of right now it is 10:30 am." he added.

".. how did you know.."

"i saw the big ass red letters and numbers flashing on the screen before we drove past it."

"right." i laughed.

i laid my head against the window as we discussed food options, and the off chance we could pull an umbrella out of nowhere.

highly unlikely..

now, what i did anticipate to do on this trip was go to the library. a big library not the tiny puny ones, no no. the BIG ones.

but i didn't know how to bring that up to him, afraid he would dismiss my suggestion. so i decided to internalize it.

i tapped my fingers on my legs before he asked me another question," so, anything new with you?" he asked sweetly.

"nah, nothing new." i added," just balancing work and my personal life more than anything, and that's all that matters."

"i understand.."

"how about you, and xio?"

"oh, she's amazing. she's been doing a lot better now that she has an outlet to help her express herself. and she was excited that we got stuck together." he said sarcastically.
