CHAPTER 6

{Isabel Wood}

Theodore and I have been dating for a month now and it has been amazing.

Summer started a few weeks ago so I have a job now and that's what I am doing right now.

There aren't many people at the diner today so it has been a chill day so far.

I hear the bell on the door and turn to see Isaac and his friend group come in.

They sit at my section and I go to get their order. They have been coming here a lot recently since I started working.

"Welcome, what can I get for you guys?" I ask, acting professional.

Isaac presses his lips together before ordering, "can we all get the 'original combo' please?" He pauses looking at my name tag, "Isabel."

I nod, writing it down on my notepad, "anything else?"

"Yes," Theo pipes up, "one Isabel on the side," he winks.

"Those aren't available sir," I narrow my eyes at my boyfriend. He asked me officially around a week ago after our fourth date.

He thinks for a second, "will they be available tonight? I enjoy late-night snacks too."

I blush and my brother makes a gagging sound, "this is disgusting."

Isaac glares at Theo and I turn, not answering his question.

I get the food after a while and Theo grabs my hand, "sit with us for a bit."

"I can't. I have to work," I decline.

"Come on babe. There is no one here," he says looking around.

I sigh, "okay but just for a little. I'll take my break."

He nods and I tell the manager I am taking my break the walk back to the table.

Theo smiles when he sees me coming over and grabs my hand, pulling me into his lap.

I adjust myself, sitting sideways on his lap, and wrap my arms around his neck while he loosely wraps his around my waist.

Everyone is used to us being touchy by this point so no one says anything.

"Did you eat lunch today?" He whispers in my ear.

I shake my head and he grabs some fries, putting them against my mouth. I just eat them cause I know there is no point in arguing with him about this.

We continue talking about random things while he feeds me but after a while, more people start coming and my break is already over so I have to go back to work.

"I'll pick you up tonight okay?" Theo grabs my hand when I stand to leave.

I nod, giving him a short peck on his lips before going to the back.

I put on my apron and head over to the customers that had come in.

"Welcome, are you ready to order?" I ask, smiling.

"Finally!" I cheer when I see Theo walking into the diner after my shift.

He walks over to me with a smirk, "so, is any Isabel available?"

I nod excitedly, "yes please take the last Isabel available."

With that, I throw myself at him.

He catches me with a laugh, "just the one I wanted."

I bury my face in his neck, breathing in. He smells so good.
