CHAPTER 19

He is here. Theodore is freaking here.

"So, who was that?" Jack asks, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I sigh, "my ex."

He seems confused but it clicks, "like the one you never wanna talk about?"

I nod.

"Why? He is hot," he raises a brow.

"He was using me. He said he wasn't but I heard him talking to his friend about how he was going to break up with me at my junior prom but he didn't. So, he said he would do it at my senior prom," I explain.

"Why didn't he do it at your junior prom?" he questions.

I shrug, "I don't know, I never asked. I ended up breaking up with HIM at my senior prom then I went home and packed a bag then came here. I haven't talked to him since that day."

"He never tried to reach out?" he laughs. "He looked at me like he wanted to murder me."

"He tried but I never answered. I blocked him and changed my number," I mumble.

He smacks his palm against his head, "you didn't even let him talk."

"No. He used me as revenge, He hurt me," I sigh.

He nods, "revenge? And also, true but I wanna know why he didn't do it on junior prom. And why prom?"

"My brother stole his date on their junior prom so he wanted revenge," I press my lips together.

"What does that have to do with you?" Jack squints his eyes.

"I have no clue. That's why I was so mad. I loved him since we were kids and he took advantage of it," I shrug.

His eyes widen, "that's fucked up."

I nod in agreement, "well, now he transferred here because I guess he wants me back or something."

He lets out a breathy laugh, "damn, he came all the way here for you?"

I narrow my eyes at him, "what is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing," he shuts his mouth.

"I don't understand though. He wanted to go to NYU since the beginning of high school and he got in. Why ruin that?" I sigh.

"That's one dedicated man," he declared.

I roll my eyes, "he is wasting his time. I am not going back to him."

Jack eyes me for a second, "I bet you fifty dollars you'll be back with him by the end of this month."

"You don't even know him," I point out.

"No, I don't. But the way he looks at you tells me enough," he shrugs.

"We'll see," I murmur.

I open the door to leave my apartment and bump into someone.

"Shit, Bell, are you okay?" a familiar voice asks.

I look up to see Theo, "um, yeah. What are you doing here?

"I live in that apartment," he points to the apartment next to mine. No.

"What? Why?" I rush.

He lets out a chuckle, "relax I didn't know you lived here. I mean if I did I would still get it because who wouldn't take the opportunity to live next to you but I saw you come in just yesterday so it was a happy moment for me."
