CHAPTER 20

{Isabel Wood}

It has been a week since I told Theo I would think about everything.

I haven't seen him much since then. I don't like it.

I walk out of my class and hear someone call my name.

"Hey," Theo smiles. "Here."

He hands me a donut and coffee.

"Thank you," I smile.

"You, um, you got that when we went to get coffee so..." he hesitates.

I nod, "I like it. It's my favorite combo."

"I'm glad I made the right choice," he breathes in. "Do you wanna... hang out till your next class?"

I try to stop myself from asking, "where were you the whole week? I barely saw you around."

I see his face soften, "I was around. I was just memorizing your classes."

"My classes?" I tilt my head.

He shakes his head, "nothing. So, hang out?"

I sigh, "sure." What's the big deal?

He grins and holds out his hand.

I hesitate but grab it and we both walk over to the park.

Pulling my hand away from him, we settle down on a bench.

"So, Jack..." he murmurs.

"What about him?" I ask, avoiding his gaze.

"You love him?" he questions.

I shake my head, "nope. We agreed to no feelings."

His posture relaxes a bit, "oh."

"How have you been?" I change the topic.

He smiles, "horrible."

I let out a breathy laugh, "right. Sorry."

"It's my fault," he shrugs.

I nod in agreement, "it is."

He lets out a chuckle, shaking his head, "How have you been?"

"Good. I like this place," I admit.

"Yeah, it's nice," he breathes out.

We sit in silence and I feel his head rest on my shoulder.

"Everyone misses you," he says after a while.

"Yeah I'm going to visit this break," I inform.

He looks up, "really?"

I nod, "I miss them."

"Did you miss me?" he mumbles.

I suck in a breath, debating if I should answer. I nod.

He smiles and lays his head back on my shoulder.

We sit there until my next class not having much of a conversation but none of us seem to mind.

The next day he is waiting outside my first class again.

"Don't you have classes to go to?" I ask.

He nods, "yeah but luckily our classes are around the same time and I get out right before you. We are meant to be I guess."

I look away knowing my face will heat up.

"Hey!" a huge arm rests on my shoulder.

I smile up at Jack, "Hey Jacky!"
