Third PoV.
Los Angeles, California.
"We're delighted to finally meet you, Mr. Mizuno. And especially your one and only daughter. Though it's unfortunate that her mother couldn't make it to tonight's dinner."
The father and daughter were sitting beside each other, while the woman and her son that was about her age was sitting opposite of them. The son was sitting across the young lady and she was clearly showing a uninterested expression as she was slicing through the high quality steak and putting it in her mouth.
"This is my son, Suguru. We may be Japanese but we moved here to take care of business. It was a good thing that we became acquainted, we can help each other in plenty of ways." The woman looks at her son and at Ayako, "One of those being marriage." The woman added.
The young lady's eyes widened and she froze up. "That's certainly a great idea to establish our company's partnership. I believe that your son will be able to fulfill his duties, as an heir to your business and a husband for my precious daughter." Her father showed no objections and was eager to proceed with the marriage.
Ayako glanced at that woman's son and she seemed to notice something strange in his expression. She had Choso to thank for being able to read other people's expressions that she was able to read this man's expression.
She saw that he was taken aback and his eyes seemed to have a hint of guilt within those orbs. She wondered why there was such heavy feelings in him, but she also saw an opportunity for... a deal to be proposed to him.
"When shall we hold the wedding then?" The woman asked. "Perhaps a month from now would do." Ayako's father placed his hand on his daughter's left shoulder, "What are your thoughts, Ayako?" He asked her.
She noticed the gaze of the young man and she smiled in a rather mischievous way, "I'm looking forward to it, father." She answered, turning her head and holding eye contact with Suguru, "I see a great path in this partnership." She mildly smirked at him. The gears in her head was already turning and she was figuring out how to move the pieces to her favor.
Ayako's PoV
Those two are really bold, putting us in the same room at a hotel already. Fortunately there were two beds in the room and I went to the one where I can see the view of the city.
"Why did you say that." I hear his voice from behind me to my right. I looked over my shoulder and saw him standing with an angered face. I scoff, "Even if I rebelled in the dinner table, it won't do anything to the decision that's already been made. For the son of a businesswoman you don't seem to know the way of becoming one."
I get up and walked towards him, "But tell me, I'm rather curious, why did you have that look of guilt earlier?" I lean slightly towards him, looking up. "Do you perhaps have someone you fancy?" His face tensed up and it showed that my guess was right. I snickered, "Your reaction just told me what I wanted to hear." I giggled.
