FIFTEEN: The Perfect Moment

Third PoV

It's the day of the wedding of the daughter and the son of two powerful and influential parents to show the partnership between the two. There were journalists on standby waiting to document the occasion to publish it later.

Ayako was standing behind the huge door while holding onto her father's arm. "I know that you only agreed to this for our reputation, my dear daughter." Said her father.

She wore a bitter smile, "I did." She looks down on the ground and looks up. "But you won't stop me from returning to the one I truly love." She glanced at her father, "Never."

AFTER-PARTY. NIGHTTIME.
Ayako's PoV.

I stood in the shower while the water poured down on my head and ran down my body. I wiped the mirror and looked at myself, thinking of the things that I did as I was apart from Choso.

I touched my lips with my fingers and remembered the one night that I spared to Suguru, who was heartbroken by Satoru. Suguru is a valuable person-a friend. I'm.. still figuring out how to keep a friend and our friendship on good terms.

"I shouldn't be thinking too much. This is what I planned for in the first place." There was no room to doubt and think about the things that I could've done instead.

I turned the water off in the shower and wore the bathrobe, tying it up securely and taking a towel to dry my hair.

I walked out of the bathroom and looked to my left and noticed Suguru standing with his back turned, he was occupied with the view of the city. I decided to not disturb him and I sat on my side of the king-sized bed, gently rubbing the ends of my hair with the towel.

"You should've told me you went out of the shower already." He says out loud and turned around to look at me.

I shrug my shoulders and continued drying my hair in silence. "Not gonna talk huh." He got the message and gave up on the conversation for now.

20 minutes later.

"What do you wanna do now?" He asked, laying down beside me. "No idea." I truthfully answered while staring at the ceiling.

He sighs and he shifts his body and I could sense his gaze on me. "What?" I asked. He hums, "Just thinking of why I did all this just to be betrayed by who I thought was my one and only." He anwered with a hint of sadness and the feeling of loss in his voice.

"You shouldn't be thinking of that asshole right now, Suguru. I'll deal with him soon." I said, slightly irritated when I was reminded of what Satoru did.

"By "deal with him"... will you um.." I look at him and I saw him doing a hand gesture of strangling, basically killing the person. I found it funny and I lightly laughed, "Unfortunately, no that's not what I meant."

He pouts, "Aw, and I thought you'd go through lengths to protect me." He says in a teasing manner while playing with the ends of my hair.

"I still try to follow the law though." I reply with a small smile. "Yikes. That just makes me think of when you don't follow the law." He says, sounding a little scared.

"I'm kidding!" I cleared it up and I laughed when he took it seriously. "Jeez, all this talk is obviously just buying time." I say, followed by a bored sigh.
