Chapter Four: Someone Beyond The Veil

Jeff's POV

After the meeting with Slender, Ben, EJ, and the intruder known as Jane, I left with all of the files in my hand about Rose, and the time of her death along with her funeral papers. I walk back to my room trying to figure out what happened and how over forty humans can find the mansion, and how they automatically knew what groups to split up in. After I put the papers on my desk, I walk downstairs to check on Lilly.

I smile when I get down there and see her sitting up by herself on the floor smiling at her uncles, until she sees me and starts to coo and smile. "Dada." she says out of no where, making my mouth drop. "Did my baby just say her first word?" I ask looking at Splendor and Trender. "That she did! While you were upstairs and gone earlier, we kept trying to make her say 'Dada' but, she never did! Well, not until you came downstairs." Splendor shouts smiling. I run over to Lilliana and spin her around. She laughs and I bring her to my chest hugging her. "You're such a good daddy." Sally says smiling, before continuing. "Although, you don't get to play with me as much." I smile and kiss Sally on the cheek. "How about after dinner, you and me go for a walk in the woods okay? I'll see if Slender will watch Lilly." "Okay!" Sally yells hugging me before running off.

I take Lilly upstairs with me and dress her in a pretty dress. "You look so pretty baby girl... Mama would love this dress. It was actually one of hers when she was your age." I whisper to her, hanging onto her little hand. I feel her hand tighten around my pointer finger. I smile a little, feeling my eyes water a little. One of my tears fall down on Lilly's finger, causing her to make a confused sound while looking at me making a face. "You're so innocent. Don't change that for me." I whisper, tracing her face with my free thumb. After a couple of minutes, she falls asleep. Once she's asleep, I sit on my bed with Rose's files and look through them.

Not finding anything, I frown. That's when I remember something important. "Who brought Jane back to life and well?" I ask myself quietly. I walk over to my bedroom window and look out of it while locking it before closing the curtains. Once I'm done with that, I walk into Slender's office for two things.

Before I can say anything, he speaks first. "What do you need Jeff?" "Well, two things actually. One, I think I may have a lead on Rose's case. And also, can you watch Lilly after dinner please? I told Sally we could walk through the woods." I hear him mumble something incoherent under his breath, before calling, Ben, EJ, and Jane into his office. "What is it Slender?" Ben asks, holding Rose's files in hand.

"Jeff thinks that he has a small lead. He hasn't told me what it is yet, he told me to call you three in here." "Well actually, I didn't do that, but yeah I have a small lead." "Well than, go on Jeff." Jane asks unhappy with the disturbance of whatever she was doing. "Okay. Well, remember the time that Rose found me at Jane's house after the little disagreement we had? Well, Rose tried killing Jane correct?" "Again. What does this have to do with me?" Jane asks pissed that I'm bringing her up again. "When we all left your house, you were good as dead. No offence. But, my question is, how are you still alive? Who saved you and brought you back to life?" I ask, wanting to know the answer.

Slender's POV

"When we all left your house, you were good as dead. No offence. But, my question is, how are you still alive? Who saved you and brought you back to life?" Jeff asks, making a good debate topic. "Yeah. I remember that day. Jeff was kidnapped by you Jane, and you were going to kill him. Than Rose came in, and beat the shit out of you. You were dead when we left. How are you alive?" EJ asks, wanting to know as well. "Well, all I remember was waking up some odd time later, and a guy told me that it had been almost two years since I was killed. Then, I spent some odd months getting my strength back up. I eventually learned that the guy who had rescued me and brought be back to life was named Zalgo. But, I don't know why you really want to know."

Jane finishes what she was saying, and Ben, EJ, Jeff and I are all staring at her. "We need to make an appointment with Zalgo." Within almost an instant, we're all in a palace filled with tortured servants. I look around in amazement. "Where are we?" Ben asks, Jane answers. "Zalgo's castle. This is where I woke up, but not exactly the same room." "Quit doddering. We have to finish this and find out what happened to Rose." I say, almost urgently. 'What happened to him?' I hear Jeff think, while watching me walk over to a desk.

Jeff's POV

Right before Slender can talk to the lady at the desk, we hear, "Slender Man! Long time no see buddy!" We all look over to see a man with gray skin and black hair with red horns coming out of his head. He was wearing a suit and walking over to Slender and giving him a hug. "Nice seeing you to Zalgo. Look, we have some questions regarding someone very important to us four and I think that you may have some of the answers that we are all looking for." "Answers. Hmm. I may have something. Follow me please."

We all make it back into Zalgo's huge personal office. "Woah. Your office is bigger than Slender's!" Ben shouts, enjoying the look of his office. There's a gaming system for breaks, a mini fridge with alcohol and soda in it probably. A vending machine, and so much more. "Well, Slender always liked having less space for work." Zalgo said seriously. "Now, what are your questions." "Jeff, why don't you ask him?" Slender tells me, looking at me as I presume.

"Well, my wife, was murdered almost an exact year ago. How? By forty humans. They found Slender mansion by themselves as we think, and we have no idea how that's possible. Also, my wife, three years ago, tried killing Jane, when she kidnapped me and was going to kill me." I stop for a moment to see what he has to say.

"Jane is that you? I haven't seen you in ages! You're looking healthy! And sorry to hear about your wife Jeff, I can do some quick research in my files right now if you'd like." "Sure." we all say at the same time. "What was your wife's name? I need to know so in that way I can look it up in my archives." is all Zalgo says, walking over to a filing cabinet. 'No doubt that has everything about Rose in it." "Her name was Rose. Rose Woods when we wed. Her killer name that she went by was Bloody Rose." I say, looking, watching as Zalgo went to the B's in the cabinet. "Found it." Zalgo says, grabbing Rose's files and walking back over to his desk.

He sits down and opens it up and starts going through it. "Well lets see, she died August 17th, due to murder from forty humans like you said. Had a daughter named Lilliana Rose Woods. Clever name. And the daughter was born August 10th of the same month. Mother was murdered, her father-" I take note that his eyes flick up to Slender for a mere second before saying, "-disappeared when she was only six." "Wait a minute. She told me her dead was killed in a driving accident." I say, cutting in. "She never learned of the truth. Her mother must of kept it from her." Zalgo mumbles, loud enough for all of us to hear on accident. "So, who's her real father!" I shout, pissed. "That isn't for me to say. Now, Rose killed her own mother who was going to kill her and you isn't that right?" "That's correct." I say, sitting on the age of my seat.

Zalgo purses his lips and raises an eyebrow. "What was her mothers name?" "I don't reme-" I get caught off by Slender Man. "Emma Able." Zalgo's eyes widen and he goes back to his file cabinet and pulls out another file. "Emma Able. Emma Able." is all Zalgo keeps muttering under his breath. "You mean the Creepy Pasta Emma Able? The one that quit the Creepy Pasta life for a normal life with a daughter? Because that's all I have." Zalgo announces pulling out another file, containing a few blood stains and some writing. "Wait, so; Rose's mother was a Creepy Pasta? Was she immortal?" I ask, beyond confused at all of these family secrets. "Yes. She was immortal. So, Rose never killed her mother. Her mother may very well be alive and roaming around some where. She may be part of the murder mystery. I suggest, that you guys go and find her. If I'm right, she's still in town looking for another lover." he finishes standing up.

"Thank you so much Zalgo." Slender says, giving Zalgo a hug. "You're welcome buddy. I'll be joining you for the search of Emma. But, just let me know."

Zalgo leads us out towards the door. "Goodbye old friend." is all Zalgo says to Slender, before hugging Jane and telling her bye." Slender teleports us all back to his office. "So, Rose's mother was a Creepy Pasta after all... Just as I thought." we all hear Slender mumble under his breath. "You guys, with Jeff's lead earlier, we are safely able to go on in our mystery. Finding, one of the strongest female Creepy Pasta's in the world."
