Not a Good News

Virat's room:

Doctor said, "I am afraid, it's not good news Mr.Virat!"

"what do you mean doctor?", Virat asked being scared.

Doctor informed him about his condition and told to visit the hospital as early as possible. Virat acknowledged that and hanged up the call.

Virat mumbled to himself, "I.. I am.. how? How I am gonna tell Rohit and Mahi bhai? Oh god! Why me!"

He slumped down with support of bed. With his head in his knees clutching it hard to stop the pain which was arising due to thinking all this.

Rohit came into the room and said, "Virat what are you doing? We have to go for breakfast"

He saw him like that and rushed to him.

Rohit ranted worriedly, "kya Hua Vi? Is ur head aching again? Ha? Say something.. should I call doctor? Bata Vi.."

Virat composed himself, "no I am okay. It's just slight headache"

He tried to sound normal but he was failing to keep his voice from shaking. He looked at Rohit.. how he was worried for him and now how he should say to him that he has... he was going to..

Rohit snapped his fingers in front of him and asked, "where are you lost? Come let's have breakfast and have some coffee, u will feel better! Come."

Rohit gave his hand to him and he got up. They left for the dining room where Mahi bhai was already waiting for them.

Mahi smiled at them and waved them to come over. Virat was just rooted on his place seeing that smile. It felt he could not move towards Mahi after hearing the news from the doctor. He left from there not able to see that anymore.

Rohit got confused by that and followed him signalling Mahi bhai that Virat had Recvd a call.

Rohit banged the door and yelled, "Vi open the door, what are you doing? Mahi bhai is waiting for us"

Virat said being tired, "leave me alone for sometime Ro.."

"you know I am not going to do that.. so open the damn door!", he said sternly.

Virat yelled back, "leave Ro! LEAVE! I don't want to talk to you now!"

He snapped harshly but it hardly affected Rohit as he knew there is something which was disturbing Virat. He went to dining table and was going to come to check again in 15 mins.

"Rohit, u alone? Where is Cheeku? He is gonna come for breakfast Na? Kal dinner bhi nahi kiya usne thik se", Mahi asked him in concern not seeing Virat with him.

Rohit knew that something was wrong with him but he could not worry Mahi till he knew what exactly was wrong.

"Bhai aap na bas usko hi pyaar karte ho, mera aapko dhyan hi nahi hai.. mai baat nahi kar raha", Rohit faked anger and pouted.

"Ro.. u have also become drama queen being with Cheeku", Mahi said and forwarded a bite to him.

They had breakfast with normal conversations but Rohit's half attention was thinking about Virat.

Once they were done he went to the room again. This time he opened the door with spare key. He entered and saw Virat again on the floor in same state his head buried in his knees.

He slowly sat beside him, Virat sensed his presence so he hugged Rohit immediately. Rohit wrapped his arms around him as he was crying.

He didn't say anything and let him break down.

Once his cries were silent, he asked softly, "kya baat hai Vi?"

Virat didn't say anything but hugged him more tightly. Rohit waited for his response.

After good 10 mins of silence Virat whispered, "I am sick"

"Sick.. fever hai? Headache hai phirse", Rohit asked worriedly touching his forehead.

Virat broke the hug and looked into his eyes and tries to convey what he has to say. Rohit was shocked to say the least.

"Umm.. Vi.. u are joking right? You are joking.. pulling a prank on me.. don't do this Vi.. i know u are taking revenge on me because i didn't talk to you after the captaincy thing. But I am sorry Vi don't do this.. don't say this..", Rohit said getting up and pacing in the room getting worked up.

"Ro.. I.. have.. to.. visit.. doctor.. at.. the earliest..I.. can't .. go.. alone.. ", Virat said between his sobs and the pain which was arising in his head.

He held his head tightly seeing which Rohit rushes to him.

"Nahi.. Vi.. why.. will.. u.. go.. alone.. I m.. there.. na.. and I will ask the doctor I am telling u aise kuch nahi hoga.. we will consult the best doctors in the world.. this is all just a lie.. I am telling you Na.. ", Rohit said wiping his tears.

"I am scared Ro.. I am scared", Virat mumbled holding his head.

Rohit took him into a side hug.. "I am there with you na Vi.. don't worry.. we will sort out everything.. chal, first let's have something.. mai yahi order Karta hu.. phir hum jayenge doctor ke pass"

"Ro.. we have to be at practice session.. bhai will ask Na.. I don't know what's gonna happen so can we just keep it between us for now..you know even if we get fever how much bhai worries for us.. so this is.. like.. I.. ", Virat said.

"I understand Vi.. let's do one thing.. tu breakfast kar le! We will go for half hour practice session phir kuch excuse karke we will go to Doctor", Rohit said.

Breakfast arrived.. Rohit saw Virat staring it lost in thoughts.. he himself was scared.. so he could hardly imagine what he was feeling.. he took a bite and forwarded him.. Virat had it looking at him with moist eyes thinking about the worse.. he just didn't know what to think.. what to feel..

Rohit just wiped the corner of his eyes and gestures to have breakfast properly.

They went to the practice session. Virat had stopped at entrance seeing everyone together. His gaze went to Mahi bhai who was laughing at some Hardik joke. How will he tell him! How?

Rohit put his hand around his shoulder.

Mahi came near them.. "what's wrong? You both are late? Cheeku u okay bacha? U look pale!", he asked in concern.

"I am okay bhai.. chalo practice karte hai", Virat said and went towards nets.

"What are you both hiding from me Ro?", Mahi said seeing Virat going without meeting his eyes and Rohit looked worried too.

Rohit didn't know what to say now..
