Hardest Part

Mahi looked at Virat who was looking in Rohit's direction wanting to talk to him.
Virat looked at Mahi with his childish puppy eyes to do something.
Mahi just caressed his cheek to tell him that he has to talk to Rohit. Mahi left them alone for sometime.

Vi- Ro please..
he tried to say something but all he did was gone into a coughing fit.

Rohit rushes to him and rubs his back. But that coughing was not stopping. Tears already were flowing from his eyes. He was clutching Rohit's hand due to the agony and desperation to stop the coughing.

Rohit called the doctor and they injected some medicine which calmed him down.

Ro- What's wrong suddenly?
He asked keeping his hand still in hold of Virat as he was trying to calm his breathing down.

Doctor- it's another side effect! The temperature of the body is going high which is causing the cough and apparently cold too!
Rohit, we have to do the surgery tomorrow.
He said leaving the room.

Virat had his eyes closed breathing heavily. Rohit sat beside him not know what he should do so all he did was rub his back and knuckles.

Vi- Ro.. it's paining.. the throat..

Ro- I know, it will pass.
He said wiping his forehead and tears.

Vi- please don't be.. angry with me
*cough*
Please talk to me..
*cough*

Ro- I am not angry!
I just want you to give yourself a chance rather than just waiting for how many days are left when clearly doctor has said that there is hope in this surgery.
He said softly.

Vi- okay! I will do it.
He said breaking into another coughing fit.

Rohit rubbed his back and passed him water which calmed him a bit.

Vi- I am just scared..
he said as he calmed down.

Ro- I know! It's okay to be.

Vi- Aren't you?
He asked gripping Rohit's hand.

Ro- no, I have complete belief in you that you are gonna make it. So I am not scared!
He said caressing his forehead.

Virat smiled to say something but all it was another coughing fit which was not being slowed and now he was trouble breathing.

Vi- Ro.. Rohit.. do.. something! I.. can't.. breathe..

Rohit called doctor and he rushed in. Doctor put an oxygen mask on his face.

Rohit- what's happening?
He asked being scared.

Doctor- Rohit u have to step outside. I am afraid we have to peform an emergency surgery! He is not breathing properly!
He said as he injected Virat with some medicines which caused him to lose consciousness and loose his grip on Rohit's hand.

Rohit stepped outside as doctor instructed others to prep the operation room.

Mahi rushed to him as Rohit came outside.

Mahi- what happened?

Rohit- they are gonna perform urgent surgery! We will call the team and ladies if required!
He said rubbing his palms and pacing outside the room.

Mahi was so tensed as he heard that they were performing surgery immediately.

Mahi- Cheeku.. oh god.. my Cheeku is having surgery. What is gonna happen...

Rohit rushes to him and takes him into side hug.

Ro- bhai nothing is gonna happen! He is gonna be okay. Don't worry pls!

Rohit and Mahi waited for one hour and then called the others. They booked the private operation room and other rooms on the floor where they could wait  and not be seen! Keeping all things private.

Anushka- what happened Ro?
She asked as soon as they reached.

Ro- they have taken him for surgery.
He said and others took a seat waiting for the surgery to complete.

Doctors were rushing in and out making everyone tense.

Rishabh- Virat bhaiya please be okay!
He whispered.

Bhuvi kept his hand on his shoulder to which Rishabh just clinged to him.

Rahul and Harry were sitting together wishing the same.

Jaddu, Ash were beside Mahi trying to be strong in this situation but were miserably failing.

Sakshi kept her hold on Anushka who was breaking bit by bit as the doctors were rushing in and out without any proper news. Virat's mom was at the hotel with Sammy.

Ritika was sitting with Rohit holding his hand but there was no response from him. He was just resting his head on the wall.

Ritika- Ro?
She called but all she received was silent treatment.

'Please be okay Vi.. for you, for us and specially for Ro! He won't be able to handle it..', Ritika whispered.

Doctor came out the room after 3 hours. Rohit rushed to him first.

Rohit- what happened?

Doctor- the surgery is over but I am afraid it's not good news.

Rohit- what do u mean?

Doctor- He is not able to breathe on his own. It's very dangerous! Umm.. I hate this part but he doesn't have much time left. We have to observe him.. it will take really so much will power from him to make it through.

Rohit- what the fuck are you saying?
He yelled.

Doctor- his survival chances are very less, it's very difficult for him to stay alive. I am sorry! If u want u can say goodbyes u can now.. as he doesn't have much time left if he doesn't respond to further treatment. His body is really weak to handle the treatment!

All doctor could hear were gasps and cries in that lobby. He hates this part but he had to do it.. he left from there saying that!

Anushka- Bubs..

Mahi- Cheeku..

Rits- Vi..

Kiddos- Virat bhai!

Seniors- Veer, Virat..

Before they could console each other all they heard was thud as Rohit collapsed on the floor on his knees staring into nothing.
