M A T E (Sesshomaru)

Everything in fact was not okay. It was late in the afternoon and Rin and Jaken we're in hiding as a worm demon appeared before Niko. She growled as she cracked her knuckles.

"LADY NIKO!" Rin shouted as she screamed as another worm demon sprung up from the ground beside her.

"NO RIN!" Niko shouted as there were two worm demons now.

She sprinted off forgetting the first one as she landed a powerful blow to the second one with her feet, causing it to fall backwards. A loud screech was in the air from the first one as it made its way towards Niko, Rin and Jaken.

"Rin! Run!" Niko shouted as the young girl ran just before the worm demon could knock Niko out cold as her back hit against the tree.

Before Niko knew it the worm demon had wrapped itself around her and the tree as it tried snapping her in half. She began screaming as her hands and feet were trapped within the demon. Her vision was getting blurry as the second worm demon ran off after Rin and Jaken.

"S-Sesshomaru," she gasped out just as a dash of silver caught her eye and before she knew it the worm demon exploded into pieces as she dropped to the ground coughing and clinging onto her ribs.

"S-Sesshomaru, t-the other one went after Rin," she said before closing her eyes due to the pain.

Sesshomaru looked at the passed out half demon before he heard Rin screaming. He growled before picking up Niko and placing her in his arm before running towards the scream.

"LET HER GO!" He could hear Jaken yell and before he knew it Sesshomaru had laid Niko down and cut the demon in half as Rin screamed and dropped in the bushes.

The demon disintegrated just like the first one.

"LADY NIKO!" Rin shouted as soon as she got up and ran over to her. "Lord Sesshomaru will she be alright? Is she hurt?"

Sesshomaru said nothing as he looked over at Niko, she looked peaceful with her eyes closed. I'm

"Rin," Sesshomaru simply said causing the young girl to look up. "What exactly happened while I was gone?"

"Well, we were trying to find a camp for the time being when suddenly these giant worm demons sprung up from the ground, Niko was trying to fight the first one when the second one sprang up and tried to kill me but Niko kicked it out of the way and that's when the first one threw her against the tree, and wrapped itself around her! She told me to run and hide when the second demon came after me," Rin explained in one breath.

"So she protected you,"

"Yes milord, I'm afraid she might be badly injured Lord Sesshomaru, I don't hear her breathing anymore,"

This caused Sesshomaru's eyes to widen, sure he doesn't care nor does he like the half demon, but he didn't want her to end up dying especially since she protected Rin. The  Tenseiga began pulsing in it's sheath as Sesshomaru looked down upon it to see it shaking.

'Tenseiga you wish to save the half demon?' Sesshomaru thought before pulling out the sword.

It began vibrating and glowing as he could see the demons of the netherworld appear before him. He groaned before slashing them away. He knelt down to the half demon who gasped awake looking frightened until Sesshomaru placed his sword down and rubbed her cheek with his hand in a comforting way.

"L-Lord Sesshomaru," she coughed before sitting up slowly.

"Welcome back," he said Moving a little away from her. 

"Oh I remember the Worm was crushing me to death, I died but...."

"I brought you back," Sesshomaru says causing her to smile.

"Thank you Lord Sesshomaru,"

"Be ready tomorrow morning we start training," he said turning and walking away.

"Lady Niko are you alright?" Rin asked hugging the older girl as she smiled.

"Yes Rin, I am now that Sesshomaru saved me, come we must not get- ah," Niko started causing Rin to gasp and Sesshomaru to quickly overcome with worry as he moved lighting speed to get to her.

"What's wrong?" He asked worry evident in his voice.

"I'm sorry my lord it's just.... My ribs have not healed they will be fine in a day or two,"

"So it's simple, we will stop and rest until you get better,"

This only caused the half demon to smile.
