"EEEK!" Niko yelled as Rin splashed her with water. 

The two laughed as they were playing in the water, Sesshomaru was leaning on a tree watching Niko as he smiled. 

"Lord Sesshomaru your smiling," Jaken pointed out who was next to him as he glared at him. 

Sesshomaru got up as he went to the water and grabbed onto her waist causing her to shriek again before blushing.  Sesshomaru nuzzled his face into her neck as Rin's eyes widened as she smiled and clapped her hands. 

"Lady Niko are you and Lord Sesshomaru together?" Rin asked causing her to blush. 

"Yes Rin, we officially got together after he saved me," 

"I'm so happy for you guys! Next is marriage!" She squealed causing both of them to blush as Sesshomaru released her. 

"I dont think so Rin, were taking things slow,"

"Like Lord Sesshomaru would marry a half demon and ruin his great father's name!" Jaken yelled upset about the news of his lord being with a half demon.

Getting out of the water Sesshomaru punched Jaken right in the head causing him to rub the bump and look at Sesshomaru with tears in his eyes. 

"I choose who I want to end up with and right now its Niko,"

'Yes, my lord please forgive me I'm sorry for the harsh words,"

"I'm not the one who you should be apologizing too," he said looking over at Niko who now had a sad face as her ears were down. 

"Is it okay if I can be on my own for a bit? I really need to think some things through," Niko said before getting out of the water herself. 

Before Sesshomaru could respond, Niko had already walked away. He glared furiously at Jaken punching him in the head again as two bumps were now there. 

"Watch your tongue," he said before leaving. 

"Lord Sesshomaru, are you going after Lady Niko?" Rin asked causing him to stop in his tacks. 

"I just need some air as well," he responds before leaving the group. 

Niko couldn't help but have tears in her eyes as she was walking. Jaken was right even though Sesshomaru is with her now, he would never marry her because of who his father was. He takes so much pride in being the great dog demon's son that he wouldn't stoop so low as to marrying a half demon Princess. 

No, Sesshomaru is the type to marry someone who is his equal and Niko is far from being his equal. Maybe she was better off at marrying Naraku, at least he wanted to and hes a half demon like her even if he is evil. 

"Niko," Niko could hear Sesshomaru say causing her to blink into reality. 

She turned seeing Sesshomaru a distance away from her. Sesshomaru could see how upset she was over Jaken's comment as tears were in her eyes, with a frown and her ears dropping. Sesshomaru couldn't stand to see her upset, all he wants is for her to smile for him again and for her eyes to light up at the sound of him. 

"Sesshomaru," she whispered as she wiped her tears. "I'm sorry.... I just been thinking,"

"About what?" Sesshomaru asked walking closer to her. 

"You would rather marry someone who is of equal to you, and I'm not..... I was thinking you might be interested in me now but you wont be in the future, Naraku was willing to marry me, maybe I should-"

"Dont talk like that, hes not having you," Sesshomaru said with determination in his voice. "I meant it when I said I wanted you by my side forever, yes its true that I despise half demons with great passion, but I dont despise you, I dont hate you, The last few days you were gone drove me insane, I was thinking about you, I couldn't imagine if Naraku had touched you I would kill him by the claws, I feel protective over you and I dont understand why," he said as he placed a hand on her cheek. 

"D-Do you perhaps love me Sesshomaru?" she gently asks looking down. 

"I do not know, all I know is that I want you and I dont want to be without you," he says causing her to look  up at him. 

"Sesshomaru," she says looking at him with soft eyes as she blushed. "You dont have to say it back but I do love you," She says placing her forehead on his. "And not because we have to marry, its because I love you for who you are, I love all of you," 

"Niko," he breathed grabbing her hand and placing it on his heart. 

She could feel how fast it was beating. A little too fast for her liking. 

"My heart is racing because of you, the need to kiss you is becoming unbearable," 

"Then kiss me Sesshomaru," She said staring into his eyes until his lips met her own.
