M A T E (Sesshomaru)

Sesshomaru landed in front of an open field as he got off of A-Un. He could smell a stronger scent of Niko just beyond the mountains.

"SESSHOMARU!" Kagura yelled flying high in the sky as he frowned.

"What do you want?"

"I'm supposed to take care of the problem, which means I can't let you pass!" She said waving her fan as blades came out of them.

Niko was back in the room she was first brought into. She was convinced Sesshomaru wasn't coming for her and she was putting on a black wedding dress Naraku had provided. He had told her instead of a few days they would be married now, something seems to be keeping him on edge just as the door opened revealing Naraku in a black outfit instead of his original purple kimono.

"It's a crime to see the bride before the wedding is it not?" Niko asked turning to look at him.

"I couldn't resist, you look so beautiful," he said placing a hand on her cheek but Niko stepped away from him.

"I'm only doing this to know my land will be safe from you,"

"And it will my dear princess. I've been waiting for this moment when I could have you all to myself,"" he said placing a finger under her chin to make him look at her.

"Soon, the preparations are almost done," he said laughing before he quickly stopped as he glanced at the door and growled.

"What is it Naraku? Something got you startled?"

"It'll have to wait stay here until further notice," he said before slamming the door shut.

'Damn that Kagura must of failed Sesshomaru entered in my castle he thought quickly walking down the stairs and out the castle, sure enough there was Sesshomaru standing there with Kagura no where to be found.

"What a Surprise, it's Sesshomaru you have a good nose to have found me so quickly,"

"Naraku," he said gripping his sword that was in his hand. "You have something of mine I want back,"

"I thought you hated half demons Sesshomaru? Niko is of no use to you,"

"Niko is an exception sure she's a half demon, annoying, and stubborn but she's also caring and dare I say sweet, shes different and doesn't belong to you,"

"Oh? Could the mighty Sesshomaru be in love with a half demon?" Naraku asked smiling.

Sesshomaru said nothing neither confirming nor denying it. He didnt understand the feelings himself so hes not going to lie to Naraku. All he knows is that he wants Niko by his side, and for no other man to dare attempt to take her from him. 

"Either way Sesshomaru your life ends now," Naraku laughs as he sprung up higher in the air with many pieces of rejected demons to come out of him. 

Sesshomaru took his chance to strike, moving the flesh away with his sword. 

Niko could have been hearing things but she knows that scent anywhere. Her eyes widened, she couldnt believe it but Sesshomaru was there..... She heard his voice, smelt his scent. He truly came for her. Niko couldn't be more happier as she opened the door to her room and ran down the corridor of stairs while holding her dress up, as she reached the bottom she noticed Kohaku was standing there holding tightly onto his weapon. 

"Kohaku?" She asked seeing as how his eyes looked lifeless in them. 

"Don't go any closer or I will kill you," he said in a monotone voice as her eyes widened. 

"LET ME PASS SESSHOMARU IS OUT THERE!"

"Naraku wants you back inside," He said swinging the scythe at Niko causing her to scream in surprise as she fell back on the stairs narrowly avoiding him.  

As Sesshomaru kept slashing at Naraku's flesh he heard Niko scream from inside the castle. Sesshomaru growled as he jumped up in the air. 

"DRAGON STRIKE! He yelled as Naraku's eyes widened. 

He had went to make a barrier and while he was distracted Sesshomaru had busted open the inside the castle and went to where he heard the scream coming from. Once he got there he saw the boy Kohaku dragging an unconscious Niko up the stairs by the chain of his scythe which was wrapped around her foot. 

"NIKO!" Sesshomaru yelled hoping she would awaken. 

This caused Kohaku to look back at Sesshomaru with empty eyes. 

"NIKO!" Sesshomaru called again as he saw her ears twitch before she opened her eyes. 

The first thing she noticed was how she was upside down, before turning her head to see Sesshomaru. 

"Sesshomaru, you came for me,"

"Did you really think I wouldn't?" he growls causing her ears to go down. 

"I'm sorry, Naraku can be very convincing," she states as Kohaku releases her and points towards Sesshomaru who only smiled. 

"Oh? You dare point your weapon at me?" He asked cracking his knuckles.

"You better not Sesshomaru hes being controlled by Naraku," she states just as Kohaku ran past Sesshomaru and out the door. 

"Looks like Naraku is abandoning his castle his scent along with the boy is already gone," 

Niko got up from the stairs and winced as she felt her head. Must of banged it pretty hard when she fell back against the stairs. Sesshomaru was in front of her immediately inspecting the damage. 

"Its not too bad, you'll live," he said as tears were running down her face causing him to frown. "Why are you crying?"

"I just..... cant believe your here Sesshomaru, these are happy tears," She said going up to him and hugging his waist. 

At first Sesshomaru winced at the contact before wrapping his arm on the back of her head pulling her in closer. 

"I missed you," he says causing her to smile as she burred her face in his chest. 

"I missed you too, you saved me from marrying Naraku,"

"I wouldn't let him, Niko I want to try something," he said causing her to look up at him. 

"What is it Sesshomaru?"  She asked curious. 

Sesshomaru looked at her with soft eyes before bringing his face closer to hers. Her heart began to race, as Sesshomaru brought his lips upon hers in a sweet savory kiss. 

A/N: Not sure who im updating this for, the votes are very low If another week goes by and the voters dont improve i can go back to Quotev where i was in the beginning
