Niko was pacing back and forth as it was night now and she was in fact biting her nails. She couldn't sleep too worried about tomorrow. It's a blood red moon and when the moon is full and red she loses her demonic powers. Not only that she also has to stay human a whole day! She is a half demon for a reason.

A hand had grabbed her stopping her from pacing anymore. Sesshomaru looked dead in her eyes as the worriness did not cease.

"What is it?" He asks gently releasing her hand.

"Ummm...... I have a little problem tomorrow,"

"A little?" He asks causing her to nod.

"I turn human when it's the night of the red moon and it's tomorrow..."

This only caused Sesshomaru to lightly smile.

"Is that why your worried because you'll be a mere mortal?"

"Well..... Not only will I be human it's gonna last all day, see my generation of half demon is different because the blood red moon is very rare I have to suffer a whole day of being a mortal meaning when the sun comes up I'll be human,"

"Interesting I'm intrigued to know what you look like as a human, sit down and rest for the night,"

"But I-"

"Will be fine," he said before taking his spot by the Tree.

He waved his hand over as she rose an eyebrow before making her way over to him. She decided to lay next to him as she placed her head on his lap.

"Sleep, we leave in the morning," he said rubbing the back of her ears as she relaxed and closed her eyes.

MORNING

Niko woke up feeling as weak as ever as she sat up causing Sesshomaru to open his own eyes. His breath hitched in his throat as he felt like he couldn't breathe. Niko had long flowing blonde hair instead of silver, with deep brown eyes as she looked away from Sesshomaru.

"Niko?" He asked as she got up.

"Yeah, it's me, I know I look Ugly,"

"Don't say that, you look..... Uh-"

"It's okay, you don't have to say it, I know your not great with words,"

"GOOD MORNING LORD SESSHOMARU!" Rin shouted running before stopping as she looked at Niko. "Lady Niko? Is that you?" She asked confused causing Niko to nod.

"Today's the blood red moon, I turn human for a whole day,"

"Really?" She asked smiling wide. "You look so pretty as a human!" She squealed causing Niko to laugh as the little girl hugged her.

"Lord Sesshomaru and..... Niko?" Jaken asked coming up to them with A-Un,"

"That's me," she smiles rubbing the back of her head. "My mom was a blonde that's where the blonde hair comes from,"

"We're leaving, Niko I need you to stay close beside me today, it's dangerous now that your mortal,"

"Right," she smiled as they all began to walk away.

Naraku was looking at Kanna's mirror as he stared at the half demon who was a mortal. He wanted her for himself and to show the Eastern lands who she truly belonged to.

"I think today will be the day she finally comes to the castle,"

"But Sesshomaru is with her, what will we do?"

"Cause a distraction so that Sesshomaru himself won't be able to save his lover," Naraku smiles causing him to laugh.

The group was walking together as Niko and Rin chatted amongst themselves learning about each other more. Niko has to admit she has grown very fond of Rin over time. She's very much a spirited young child.

"Stop," Sesshomaru says placing a hand on his sword.

The group stops and looks forward eyes wide as a hord of demons was in the sky.

"Niko, take Rin and get out of here,"

Niko nodded knowing she couldn't do much on her own. As the demons came Sesshomaru began slashing away at them as he looked to see Rin and Niko heading to the right direction.

'Good there gone' he thought as he only continued to slash away at the demons swarming as Jaken was helping as well as A-Un.

Rin and Niko began running far away from Sesshomaru, only to be cutt off by Kagura the wind. Her eyes widened.

"Yo, you must be Niko the half demon," she smiles holding her fan away.

"RIN! RUN BACK GO SOMEWHERE!"

"IM NOT LEAVING YOU!" She shouts back.

"Fine, I guess I'll kill the child to get to you, DANCE OF THE DRAGON!"

Large twisters began to spiral and come to the girls. Niko quickly grabs Rin and throws her away as she began screaming in pain as she took the blow of the twisters.

"NIKO!" Rin shouted as Niko kept screaming.

Once all the demons were gone Sesshomaru wasted no time in running the direction the screaming was heard. Sesshomaru ran until he began to hear the sound of crying. He landed seeing Rin in a corner crying her eyes out.

"Rin," Sesshomaru says looking around for Niko only fearing the worst.

"LORD SESSHOMARU!" Rin shouted clinging onto him as she cried. "We have to save Lady Niko! Kagura took off with her, she protected me and got really injured because of it!" She cries having Sesshomaru widened his eyes.

'Niko' Sesshomaru thought as laughter was heard.

"Lord Sesshomaru I can assure you the girl you love is being treated by me... I hope you know now that I have her she will be mine,"

Sesshomaru growled as he could feel his eyes turning red and claws becoming sharper as he spoke.

"YOU FOOL! NOBODY TAKES HER AWAY FROM ME!" He shouts before running to Naraku and slashing at him only to find a demon puppet instead.
