I sped down the road in the direction of the hospital.

What could be wrong? Could Kris and Jade be hurt? Is Jade ok? Is my baby alright? I couldn't keep my mind from thinking awful thoughts. I just have to breathe and focus on the road.

I pulled into the hospital where Jade was born only a few years ago. After parking my car, I sprinted to the doors and towards the E.R.. Tracy was waiting at the doors in a helpless wreck. Her eyes were swollen, hair a mess, and her face stained with tears.

She cried out my name as I wrapped my arms around her. I kept shushing her, waiting to ask what's wrong. Once she seemed stable, I pushed off my body and stared into her eyes. "Where's Jade?"

She sucked in air and pointed into the emergancy room hallway. I held my breath before looking at her again. "Kris?"

"In there as well," she choked out. "Raven-"

"Are they okay?" I asked quickly. She just stared blankly at me. I waited for her answer, but her silence answered the question. They aren't. "Tracy, what happened?"

"Kris was just bringing Jade for breakfast and th-they were hit by a truck. Raven-" She took a deep breath and wiped her cheeks. "They don't kn-know if sh-she's going to be ok!" She started to sob into my shoulder again. That's when I realized what she had said.

"They don't know if she's going to be ok."

"I need to go see Jade!" I pushed Tracy off and ran towards the doors. I burst through them and went up to the desk. "Jade Taint," I said quickly. The women looked up at me briefly and back down to her screen.

"Relative?" She wasn't short with me, she wasn't snooty. She sounded upset. Her voice was soft and kind, but coated with sadness.

"I'm her mother," I said proudly. She eyed me sadly and pointed down the hallway.

"She's down there, but you can't see her right now, ma'am."

"Why not?" I asked, preparing myself to run.

"She's in intensive care," she told me. I felt my legs become weak as I spun and sprinted in the direction of which the women had pointed. She kept calling 'Miss, no!' but I didn't listen. Her loud, sharp calls soon became muffled and quiet as Jade's voice shouting "Momma!" started to reply in my head.

All I pictured was her soft brown eyes staring into mine as a new born baby. I felt her soft brown hair in my fingers as I braided it when it was finally long enough. I hear her laugh playing through my head. All of it taking over my brain as I searched for the room.

My feet stopped as I heard calls between nurses and doctors were being stated in a room with the door open. I stepped in and saw Doctors and nurses crowding around a table. One nurse saw me and began to walk towards me. I just wanted to see Jade. I don't care how bad, I need to see her and tell her I love her.

"Ma'am, you can't be in here!" The nurse shouted. I began to refuse as I caught a glimpse of the person on the table, except it wasn't Jade. It was Kris. He was covered in blood and gashes and seemed to be unconcious. That alone scared me. I was pushed out of the room and the nurse shut the door in my face. I turned around and ran to the end of the hallway. I found another door opened with several doctors and nurses surrounding it.

I walked in slowly, scared of seeing Jade half as bad as Kris. Before any nurse or doctor could stop me, I walked closer and saw Jade's brown locks strewn across the pillow and a large gash in her forehead along with several more gashes covering her body. There was blood seeping onto the table around her as the doctors tried to stop it.
