After Mockingjay- Katniss and Peeta

Chapter 20: Shopping

Peeta's P.O.V:

Knock knock knock

Katniss groans beside me.

"Can you open?" She asks.

"Sure Honey." I say and kiss her forehead.

Knock knock knock

"I'm coming!" I yell at the person or the persons who stays outside the door and knocks on it.

I get out from bed and take a pair of shorts and a t-shirt as lying on the floor.

I run down the stairs and opens the door in the hall.

I'm opening the door slowly.

When i see who it is outside i slam the door closed.

It just a dream. He has died. Never live again. But i swear i just saw him. Alive.

"Calm down. Open the door coward." I whisper to myself.

I take slow steps forward to door.

Breath in. Breath out.

That's what i concentrate on. Breath.

I grab the door handle.

My hand is shaking but i do it.

I open the door again and i see him.

Alive and healthy.

"Hey, bread boy." He smirks.

And that's Finnick Odair.

"Finnick?" I slutter.

"Yeah, it's me." He says.

"But you're dead." I say.

"It's a long story, can i come in?" He asks.

"Ofcourse." I say and opens the door more so he can walk in.

We walk into the livingroom.

I still can't believe it. Finnick Odair who has died, is here in district 12 in my house alive and healthy. How is that even possible?! How can...

Finnick interups my thoughts.

"Hey, do you wanna listen?"

"Yeah." I say. Still in chock.

"I thought i was dead when the mutts 'killed' me. But they didn't. I just got paralyzed. I couldn't move.

I woke up in a hospital in district 13 a few weeks later. But i couldn't do anything. Just lay there in that stupid hospital bed and wait to be better. Wait to tell Annie that i was alive. Wait to see my son. My son Junior Finnick Odair." He says and looks up to me.

I stay there a while just stare at him.

"I feel like a total jerk, but i've missed you. Like really missed you." I say.
"I have missed a buddy in my age that i could talk to."

"You're not a jerk. Actually i've missed you too." He says.

With those words the gets up and hugs me. Thight.
I didn't know this emotional part of Finnick.
But this hug feels nice. I have got my lost friend back. That is fantastic.

"Peeta, who is it?" I hear Katniss asks in the stairs.

"You better come down here." I say.

"But seriosly, who is..." She starts but when she sees who it is in the livingroom she stops.

She just stands there and stare.

"Finnick..." She says.

Before he can answer she runs up to him and hugs him hard.
