"Alright buddy, let's calm down now we're almost home," Kate cooed to Lucky who was dragging the young woman by his leash rather aggressively.

"Why are you so eager, Lucky?" Kate questioned while grabbing her keys from the pocket of her large dark purple coat. Lucky stood on his hind legs and pawed the door whining, "If this door doesn't budge in the next two seconds I'll just kic-got it! Lucky wait-"

Oh.

So that's why Lucky was so eager. She should know that the only other person other than herself of course was a familiar Russian assassin who likes to show up unannounced practically every 2-3 weeks.

"Yelena?" Kate questioned as she watch Lucky run towards the blonde and jump on her. Yelena, ready as always, caught Lucky and put her arms around him.

"Hello there handsome!" Yelena exclaimed putting her forehead against Lucky's head who licked her up happily.

Kate tried not to melt at the sight and crossed her arms feigning judgement, "What are you doing here?"

"Kate Bishop, I'm just dropping off some things," Yelena simply said as her eyes darted around the apartment. That's when the owner of the apartment finally took a look around the space herself and her eyes widened,

"What the- Yelena did you break into my apartment to put up Christmas lights?!" Kate cried out as she looked at the decorations all around her apartment. They were not on, but she can clearly see the lights were everywhere: around her living room, her kitchen (outlining the fridge and island kitchen table), and the stairs leading up to her room.

"What choice did I have?!" Yelena said with wide eyes flaring her arms exaggeratedly, "You have not put up your Christmas spirit yet and frankly Kate Bishop, it is soooo depressing."

"I was going to do it eventually," Kate scoffed but faltered when Yelena gave her a 'I know you're lying look'.

"Anyways, why do you care? It's only me here and it's not like I'm planning to invite anyone over to celebrate," Kate grumbled before walking towards her couch plopping with a sigh.

"I'm not going to celebrate Christmas in a depressing apartment, Kate Bishop." Yelena scoffed.

"Wait- what?"

"You don't mind if I crash your Christmas day this year, do you?" Yelena questioned with her eyebrow raised but if Clint's training has been paying off, Kate could maybe see a break in the blonde's walls and see a flicker of vulnerability in the blonde's eyes.

Kate couldn't help but smile softly to ease the woman before joking, "It's not like it's the first Christmas day of mine you've crashed"

"Oh! Kate Bishop! It's going to be so much fun. Can we go ice skating? Maybe even visit the big Christmas tree this year? I wasn't able to see it last year since someone knocked it over." Yelena clapped her hands in excitement.

Kate rolled her eyes, "I mean, I honestly wasn't planning on doing anything for Christmas...but I don't know.."

"Pleaseeee Kate Bishop?" Yelena pulled out her puppy eyes that Kate has been the victim of plenty of times from the blonde's visits.

"Fine," Kate sighed not relenting no further.

"Yes!" Yelena fist pumped in the air, rather adorably Kate might add, before sitting beside Kate and smiled, "So you help me put up the rest of these Christmas lights, da?"

"Alright alright, let's do it." Kate sighed but smiled nonetheless at the gleeful look from the blonde.

"Hey, Yelena?" Kate asked suddenly.

"Yes, Kate Bishop?"

"Thank you."

Yelena just smiled and said,

"It's a tradition for us, no? Merry Christmas, мой маленький ястреб"
