Cafe Bishop [Wandanat]

Prompt: Natasha has been sent on blind dates by her younger sister and every single one has been a disaster. Wanda is a barista who finds herself infatuated by the woman every time she comes in and deals with her annoying coworkers Peter and Kate (emphasis on annoying for Kate) encouraging her to talk to her.

"That will be $12.50, sir" Wanda politely says as she stands behind the counter in front of the digital pad waiting for the middle-aged man dressed in a wrinkled suit struggle to get out his credit card from his wallet.

The college student sighs and allows her eyes to observe her surroundings. The cafe was somewhat busy and spotted a variety of people in every corner; high school students, couples, a group of middle schoolers, etc. She watches as her co-worker and close friend, Kate, start to make the man's order on her left.

She had been working at 'Cafe Bishop' for over a month now and was able to snag a job with the help of Kate who was a classmate from History class. The young woman had been complaining about how her mom, who so happens to own the cafe as well as many more across Southern California, is forcing her to interview all the new applicants and how everyone she's interviewed had used this opportunity as an excuse to flirt with her the entire time.

Despite Kate being rich, the girl had refused to rely on her mother's money without at least earning it and is a barista (and practically the boss) of this specific cafe in Irvine, California.

After desperately looking for another job to help pay the bills for her and her brother, Pietro's apartment, she took this opportunity to ask Kate for the job.

Since then, the two women went from classmates to close friends and would even go far to say Kate was her best friend. 

She would never tell the younger raven-haired that though. 

"Psst, same spot. Right on the dot," Kate whispers rather loudly as she gestures with her head to the booth Wanda has found herself glancing at, at this hour, 2:30pm every other day, because of the mysterious woman sitting by another new face right across from her.

"Have a great day sir," Wanda fake smiled, her attention not at all at the man in front of her but rather at the red-haired woman in the booth.

"Peter, take over please" Wanda ushers her other co-worker who had just come out of the back entrance and nudges him to the front, giving him no choice but to take the order of the next order.

Wanda went on autopilot besides Kate, grabbed a waiting receipt, and started making the order.

"This is the third one in two weeks," Wanda mutters to herself as she got to work but Kate heard it.

The redhaired woman had caught Wanda's attention last week. She had embarrassingly taken her order, stuttering the entire time, and only knows that her name was "Nat". Since the encounter, Wanda has shoved either Kate or Peter to the register when the woman comes in and has stuck to stealing glances at the woman while preparing orders.

"And it looks like she's not enjoying his company either," Kate comments as they both steal glances up at the red-headed woman tapping on the table nodding mindlessly to whatever the man in front of her was gesturing wildly about.

"He looks like someone who only talks about bitcoin," Wanda mumbles rolling her eyes as she puts a lid on her order and calls out for 'Michael'.

"Look, this is your opportunity. Go save her," Kate excitedly says as the man excuses himself to the direction of the restroom completely missing the way the redhead sighs in relief.
