~ Max POV ~
I interlock my hand with El's as I smile at her, gazing into her brown pupils. When I look behind us, I see that Nancy and Robin are talking to each other as we walk over to the cinema with our ice cream in our hands. I held onto El a little tighter as I felt this proud feeling wash over me. It was working. At least a little bit. They didn't walk away and now we are going to the movies together to make them sit next to each other. That had to work, right? I mean, when do we know if it worked? Do they need to kiss? Anyway, they were awkwardly talking to each other now. It was awkward, but I took it as a huge win, since they were at least talking and not avoiding each other like they had been doing the last few weeks.
As we arrive at the cinema and got our tickets, me and El quickly took the seats next to each other so Nancy and Robin had to sit together too. "Uh, after you." Robin awkwardly gestures to the seat next to El. "Thanks Robin." Nancy chuckles softly as she sat down first. Robin took a seat next to her as she softly spoke to herself, like she always did when she was nervous. "Which movie are we gonna watch?" El asks me as she looks over at me. I shrug softly as I didn't really pay attention to which movie to pick. I just wanted this to work so badly and to be together with El, that I didn't really see which movie I bought tickets for. "I don't know to be honest." I chuckle softly as El her eyes grew. "You are such a weirdo." She laughs as she gazes into my eyes. I gently grab her chin as I stare into her eyes as my stare wanders off to her lips. "We won't be paying much attention to the movie anyway." I smirk softly as I lean in ever so slightly. El her eyes shoot to my lips as a smile grew on her face.
"Oh my god, guys not here." Nancy whispers as she looks over at us. I frown as I pull back to look at Nancy. "You're just jealous. No need to take it out on us. Just enjoy the movie if you don't want to look this way." I smirk at Nancy. "Or you know, have fun with Robin." I wiggle my eyebrows, but sadly you couldn't really see that in the dark room. "Okay gross, but are you really going to make out in a full theater?" Nancy asks weirdly interested. "Making out? No. Kissing? Perhaps. No one is paying attention to us anyways, besides, look around you Nance we are literally the only once in here. Only those two people over there. It's normally a school day, so it's quiet today. Relax. " I explain to her. She looks around as I was indeed correct, the room was almost empty. And me and El would never go all out with so many people around- at least, not in public. Maybe in secret but- ANYWAY.
"Let them have their fun, they can barely be themselves outside because of all the rude people. So let them be, it's okay here. Besides we are around to protect them too." Robin stood up for us. Not that Nancy was being rude about it, but she just didn't understand the way Robin did. Nancy looked at Robin with passion in her eyes. "You're a good big sister for both of them. It fits you. I like it." Nancy smiles as she looks over at Robin. Me and El smile at each other as excitement rushes through my bones. "UH- yeah, I just- thanks." Robin nervously rambles. Nancy giggles softly as she gave Robin a soft nudge. I turn to face El as I she was already looking at me. She secretly shows me a thumbs up as she thought it was going well with our plan. I nod softly in agreement.
Once the movie had started we soon realized it was a romantic movie. It was pretty boring and I don't really like these sappy movies most of the time, but I was more focused on El and the other two love birds then on the movie. I leaned over to El as she was looking at the screen. My hand softly tapping her knee as her eyes move away from the big screen, to meet my eyes. "It's going well don't you think?" I whisper so soft that only El could hear it. She nodded as she looks down at my lips. "But I like some attention as well." She whispers softly as my lips curl into a smile. "You do look very pretty in your new outfit. I really like it on you." I whisper back as my eyes glide over her body. The part I could see in the dark anyways. "Thank you. And I really liked your flowers. But I think they will die without water soon." El giggles softly. I chuckle in responds as I look at the bouquet of flowers I layed down on the seat next to me. "yeah, I didn't really think it through, it was just a distraction for- you know- but I will buy you new once later. I promise." I state as I meet El's eyes again. "Or we can pick some flowers outside together later this week." El softly smiles. My lips curl into a smile as well as I slowly lean in and peck her lips. "Let's do that instead. I like your idea better." I whisper as I still felt the lingering feeling of El her lips on mine.
