I took my food and sat down. It was lunch already. I just couldn't wait to go home. I felt sick, so sick, I didn't know why. I was a typical foodie but this time, as I sat with my friends, I kept pecking at my food.
"Ella, won't you eat?" Claire asked with concern. I just shook my head.
"Bring it, let me package it for you" she pulled the food closer to her, went to buy a food pack, and packed it for me.
"You usually eat, what happened now?" she asked. I could tell she was concerned. One of the reasons why I liked her.
"That strange girl..what's her name kraa.."
"You mean, Avi?"
"Yes!"How could I forget just a simple name?
"What has she done"Claire queried.
"She keeps looking at me now and then as if she's angry, sad, or something. I don't know. I feel like she holds a grudge against me for something."I said. Claire kept quiet for some time.
"Did you do anything to her?" she asked after a while.
"No, of course not!"I denied. I barely talk to Avi. Even if I ever did, it will be the reason for her absence from school.
"I'll observe her," Claire said getting up after finishing her food. We talked about the latest gossip trending in our school when Claire suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"And here comes Sir Eugene"Claire smirked. As usual, he was walking in all his glory. Bumping into students to show his power.
"Let's pass the other side" I laughed. Claire and I turned back and were about to take a different route when.
"Hey, Ella and Claire!" he yelled. We instantly froze.
"Guess we'll have to turn back" Claire snickered.
"You think you can run away from me! Me! A 'god'?" he yelled dramatically.
"Oh sir please no, I mean why would we want to run away from a 'god' like you?"I stated sarcastically emphasizing the word 'god'.
"Anyways, how are you?" He laughed
"We are fine"
"Where's Emilia?" he asked.
"I don't know where that girl is. The way she can move "
"Okay, today I'm in a good mood so no kneeling "he smiled. His dramatic smile always made me laugh.
"Yay!"I raised my arms in the air. I knew immediately that it was a big mistake, A horrendous one when I saw his angry face.
"And who told you to celebrate?" he smirked evilly. Despite the situation I was in, I couldn't help laughing. He looks so funny when he's angry, no offense!
When I lifted my head, I saw his face with a raised eyebrow.
"Hehehahaha!"He suddenly started laughing evilly. Claire was barely able to control her laughter while I stood there laughing like a maniac.
"Herh kneel" he pointed his fingers at the floor. I knew it! I just knew it, Sir Eugene will not let us pass without letting me kneel. Like that day erh, it will rain. Claire, because of experience, refused to laugh but she ended up kneeling anyway because Sir Eugene said he couldn't stand her controlling her laugh. Hahaha!
"You know, I want to expand my business. What should I do? Hmm," he said after five minutes. He stroked his beard dramatically as he stared at us trying to balance ourselves on the floor. One thing you need to know about Sir Eugene. He's so dramatic when he's in a good mood. I repeat, when he's in a good mood.
"Sir, please let us stand up first then we will reveal our secrets to you" I smiled.
"If I let you stand up and you don't tell me any sensible thing, you will lie down" he warned. I gulped.
"Don't worry. I'm a goddess so every mortal would want to listen to my advice like you."I laughed knowing I had entered a dangerous path. Claire's expression was ' Girl you are so dead!'.
"You said what?"Sir Eugene came closer to check if he heard correctly.
"Ella.."Claire warned.
"I said, I'm just a mortal and what will my advice do to this 'god'"I corrected myself. He nodded agreeing with me.
"Okay, luckily you guys didn't spoil my mood. You can go. "He laughed. We laughed back and got up hurriedly to go before he changed his mind.
Just then, I spotted Emilia.
"Sir Eugene! Emilia's there" I pointed.
"Hehehahaha!"As soon as I heard that laugh, I knew Emilia was going to have a hard time. Poor her! Hahaha!
School went normally as always. That strange girl. I mean Avi, had stopped staring? Daddy came to pick me up from school so I waved Claire goodbye. I didn't feel like playing basketball today so I went home early.
