Dean and Jenna arrive at Jenna's grandma's house, and they get out of the car. Dean says, "Well, nice neighborhood." Jenna says, "Yeah. I pretty much grew up here. Learned to ride my bike down the road. Had my first kiss at that blue house over there. Lost my virginity up there." Dean says, "I bet blue house was pissed." Jenna nods and says, "She was. Do you mind?" Jenna hands Amara over to Dean and Dean looks down at her and says, "Hey, beautiful." Jenna grabs Amara's diaper bag and they start walking and she says, "Anyway... that's why I asked you to bring us here. After everything that happened it just feels safe." Dean says, "Well, good. Safe is good." Dean gently rocks Amara in his arms and Jenna says, "You're so great with her." Dean softly smiles and says, "Yeah, I got to hold my daughter when she was a baby, although then I didn't actually know she was my daughter, but every time I held her, she would immediately stop crying. Well, look, I should, uh..." Dean hands Amara over to Jenna and she says, "Right. Sure." Dean says, "You're gonna be okay, both of you." Jenna says, "I know. What about you and Sam? Are you gonna be, okay?" Dean says, "Well, for us, the bar's pretty low." Dean chuckles and he continues to say, "See you." As Dean turns and walks away, Jenna says, "Dean." Dean stops and turns to face Jenna and Jenna continues to say, "Thank you... for everything." Jenna then gives Dean a hug and Dean hugs her back and Jenna walks up to her grandma. Dean walks back to his car and drives back to Sam. Later, Dean's on his way back to Jenna's grandma's house back there's something wrong with Amara. While Dean's driving, he calls Sam and tells him what Jenna told him and Sam says, "I mean, it sounds like something out of 'The Exorcist.'" Dean says, "That's what I said." Sam says, "So, you thinking demon?" Dean says, "Or kid got infected by something. I don't know. Look, man, I know you're flying solo." Sam says, "No, I'm-- I'm fine, Dean. Look, don't worry about me. Just... just help Jenna. And if you need anything, then call me." Dean says, "Will do. How you doing? How's 'Zombieland'?" Sam says, "It's good. It's great."
Meanwhile with Liz, she wants to call the boys to tell them she's okay, but they might think she's a demon and actually not think it's her. Liz is also trying to get ahold of Castiel, but he's not answering, and she sighs wondering what to do and if Dean got the Mark of Cain of his arm. Liz walks outside and looks up at the sky and says, "Hi, God. Um, I know it's been a long time, but... me and the boys we've been through a lot of bad. I just feel like something bad is happening and there's nothing I can do about it. I did something and I didn't care about the consequences for my own selfish reasons, and I just want you to help me fix it. My family could be in danger and it's my fault. If I have to die again, I've made my peace with that, but... please. My family deserves better. There are people out there, good people, who might suffer because of me, and I am not asking you to clean up my mess. Hell, I don't even know if you're listening to this, but... if you are... and if you can hear me, I, um... need your help, God. I need to know there's hope. I need a sign." Liz waits a few moments for a sign and then she gets a piercing headache and sees some sort of vision with fire surrounding something. The headache stops and she looks up at the sky confused and she says, "What does that mean?!" Meanwhile back with Dean, he gets out the car to meet Jenna and he says, "Hey. Where's the kid?" Jenna says, "We got another problem." Dean says, "Figures." Jenna says, "I tried to stop her, but my grandma's real Catholic, and after the crazy, she called her priest, who sent over an exorcist." Dean says, "Really?" Jenna sighs and says, "Yeah." They walk inside the house and Dean looks to see the exorcist and he glares at the person. Crowley's dressed up in a priest outfit and he says, "Hello, my son." Dean says, "Crowley." Crowley says, "Father Crowley." Jenna's confused and says, "Do you know each other?" Crowley says, "Oh, yes. Dean was a rather scrumptious young altar boy." Dean says, "Can I talk to you outside... father?" Crowley says, "Of course. After I finish my tea." Dean rolls his eyes wondering why Crowley's actually here. Then Dean and Crowley go speak outside and Dean looks at Crowley and says, "Really? Father Crowley? Really?" Crowley says, "I'm sorry, aging, pathetic, has-been rock star. Did I offend your delicate sensibilities? Where have you been? Your brother, and that idiot angel, who by the way we're led by my sister, but it's whatever. I'm assuming you know what they did?" Dean says, "Yeah." Crowley says, "Everything?" Dean says, "Enough. What are you doing here?" Crowley says, "Same as you-- I'm working the case." Dean looks at Crowley confused, and Crowley continues to say, "I have sources in the Catholic church-- nuns that owe me a favor, priests with a taste for--" Dean cuts Crowley off hearing enough and says, "Okay, all right, yeah, I can't imagine." Crowley says, "You really can't. Anyhow, they hear of a demonic possession, they call me. If it's one of mine, I tell them to ignore it. If it's a, uh, demon gone rogue, well, that's when Father Crowley comes out to play." Dean says, "So, you think there's a demon in there." Crowley says, "Not even a little bit. Whatever's in that house, I can taste the power radiating from it. That thing... it's old... deep... dark." They then hear screaming and they rush inside the house and Dean finds Jenna's grandma with her throat slashed. Crowley says, "Well, hello, plot twist." Then Dean and Crowley go upstairs, and Dean says, "Jenna? Jenna!" Crowley says, "Really?" Dean looks at Crowley annoyed, and he says, "What?" Crowley says, "We have no idea what ancient, world-shattering evil we're dealing with, but go right ahead. Let him know we're coming!" Dean says, "Listen, Velma, this isn't the Scooby Gang, okay? So, either shut up or get out." Crowley says, "Easy, tiger. Just trying to help." Dean then hears Amara crying and rushes into her room with Crowley behind him and finds Jenna nowhere. Dean looks down at Amara and softly says, "Hey." Amara then stops crying and then Dean unbuttons Amara's jumper to see the Mark of Cain on her collar bone and he flashes back to when the Darkness said, "We're bound, Dean. We'll always be bound. We will always help each other." Dean then realizes that this Amara is the Darkness. Crowley says, "The child likes you. No surprise, really. You're very maternal." Dean says, "We got to find Jenna." They then leave Amara's room and hear a crash and walk towards where the sound is and open the door to find Jenna breaking things and he says, "Jenna? What are you doing?" Jenna looks at the angel figurine and says, "My grandma collected these things, but I always thought you were so... blah. Don't worry. She won't care. I cut her throat." Dean says, "Why did you do that?" Crowley says, "Because this woman doesn't have a soul. Fascinating." Dean says, "What are you talking about? How is that even possible?" Jenna says, "Amara's hungry. She's a growing girl." Dean says, "Jenna. Listen to me. Whatever's happened, whatever's going on, we can fix it, okay?" Jenna says, "But I don't want to be fixed. I like the new me. She's a ball." Dean says, "Just come with us, okay?" Jenna then attacks Dean, and he ducks, and they start fighting and Dean says, "Jenna! Stop!" As Jenna gets the upper hand and is about to stab Dean, with a wave of Crowley's hand Jenna's thrown off Dean and hits the ceiling and then falls to the ground dead. Dean glares at Crowley and Crowley says, "I was getting bored." Dean angrily says, "You killed her!" Crowley says, "You're welcome." As Crowley goes to walk away, Dean says, "Where are you going?" Crowley says, "To see the child that eats souls." Dean says, "You don't get what that thing is." Crowley says, "Enlighten me. Come on, darling. Don't play coy." Dean says, "I think Amara is the Darkness." Crowley says, "Interesting. So, what now? You killer her? You?" Dean says, "I don't have a choice." Crowley says, "Please. Even if you could murder a baby, you couldn't murder that baby. I saw the way you looked at her. Me, on the other hand, it's not like it'd be my first." Dean says, "Oh, is that an offer?" Crowley says, "It's a promise-- right after I'm done with her." Dean angrily takes a step forward and says, "You stay away from her!" With a wave of Crowley's hand, he tosses Dean into the closet and he says, "Oh, Dean. Adorable little Dean. I want that child, and I get what I want. You and Sam don't understand. I'm not your bloody sidekick! We've had some good times. So, I'm gonna give you once chance-- just one-- to walk out that door, or I'm gonna take you apart atom by atom. Do you understand—" Crowley gets cut off by Dean stabbing Crowley through his hand and sticks him to the wall. Crowley angrily looks at Dean and he says, "Bastard!" Dean then takes out the demon blade and goes to Amara only to find her gone and he goes back to Crowley to find him also gone and says, "Damn it!" Meanwhile with Liz, she and Henry are in the library playing charades when the bunker door opens and Liz thinking it's the boys she doesn't look up and says, "Hey, guys." Henry sees Castiel not looking so good and he says, "Uh, mom?" Liz looks to where Henry's looking to see Castiel and he grunts, "Help me." Liz and Henry immediately get up and rush toward Castiel and they help him to a chair and Liz says, "Cass, what the hell happened?" Castiel says, "Rowena. She did some spell on me." Liz looks at Castiel's eyes and she says, "I know this spell. I don't know how to break it, but we're gonna need to find Rowena. Until then, I'm sorry Cass, you're gonna have be chained up." Castiel nods and Liz does a warded spell for Castiel to be in chains and Liz says, "There. Those should hold." Castiel nods and says, "Did you hear from Dean or Sam?" Liz shakes her head and says, "No, um... I've been pretty busy. Why what's going?" Castiel says, "When the Mark of Cain was removed the Darkness arrived." Liz's confused and says, "The Darkness?" Castiel nods and says, "The Darkness was locked away by God. It's a very powerful being." Liz softly says, "And I let out." Henry says, "No, mom. That's not your fault." Liz nods and says, "Yes. Yes, it is. I'm the one who wanted the Mark of Cain off Dean's arm and now there's something called the Darkness." Henry says, "But you we're doing it to save your life." Liz nods and says, "Yeah and now look what I did. I should have just listened to Dean and now we don't even know what the Darkness wants." Then the bunker door opens, and they hear footsteps, and they look over to see Sam and Dean. Sam smiles happy that Liz is alive and well and that Dean didn't kill her, but what he doesn't know is that's far from the truth. Liz says, "Hey, guys." Sam walks over to Liz and gives her a hug and he says, "I told you so." Liz hugs Sam confused, and she says, "You told me what?" Sam pulls away and says, "You're not dead." As Liz opens her mouth, Henry cuts her off and says, "Actually, she was." Sam's confused and says, "What? What are you talking about?" Sam looks over at a guilty Dean and he says, "I-is this true? Dean?" Dean doesn't answer Sam and Henry scoffs and says, "Of course it's true. I was there. I held my mom in arms while she was bleeding to death, and she breathed her last words to me which were 'I love you'." Sam looks disappointed at Dean and Castiel looks at Liz and says, "How are you alive?" Liz says, "Well, I guess it's true what they say about father like son." Sam's confused and says, "What do you mean?" Liz says, "Henry sold his soul for me. Dean sold his sold for Sam. Your dad sold his soul for me and Dean. My dad sold his soul to Crowley. I mean, I don't know how much more I can take. Everyone I care about has sold their soul." Henry says, "It was worth it. I got my mom back." Sam says, "Yeah, I probably would have done the same." Liz sighs and says, "Of course you would. Anyway, I'm alive but I'm human." Castiel says, "You're human?" Liz nods and says, "Yeah, I don't have my angel grace, so I can bleed like you guys." Henry says, "Yeah and Crowley doesn't know how to get her powers back." Liz says, "Yeah, I miss it, but I was human once before without using my angel powers." Sam nods and says, "Yeah, but we'll still find a way to get your angel powers back." Liz nods and Liz noticed Dean not saying anything and says, "Um, Dean could I talk to you alone?" Dean nods and they both leave the library and Henry says, "That conversation is going to be good." Liz and Dean walk into the kitchen and Liz says, "So... can I see your arm." Dean nods and takes his jacket off and lifts his sleeve up and Liz sees the Mark completely gone and Dean just watches Liz intently and she rubs her hand on Dean's forearm where the Mark of Cain use to be and Dean notices that Liz is promise ring is off her finger and he sighs and softly says, "Liz?" Liz looks up at Dean and she removes her hand from his arm and Dean feels that his relationship with Liz is over and Liz says, "Listen, I know your sorry, but I just feel we're not connected anymore and it's my fault." Dean shakes his head and says, "No. It's not. It's mine. I remember what I did to you, and I liked it. Damn it, Cain said this was gonna happen and I thought I could stop it, but I guess I couldn't. I broke my promise. I hurt you. I hurt the one person I promised I wouldn't hurt, and I did." Dean feels a few tears roll down his cheeks and Liz wants to wipe them, but she refrains from doing so. Liz nods and says, "I'm sorry, but I can't be with you, and I hope you understand that I'm just doing what's right for me." Dean wipes his tears and nods and says, "Yeah. I understand." Liz nods and says, "I'll always love you, Dean, but taking a break from each other it's what needs to happen." Dean nods and says, "So, are you leaving?" Liz says, "No, no, of course not. You're still family and so is Sam. It's just Henry hate's your guts. Your own son hates you Dean, and I don't know how to fix that." Dean says, "You don't. I do. It will take time for him to trust me again and I'll wait as long as it takes." Liz nods and softly says, "Yeah. So, I'm just gonna head to bed." Dean nods and watches Liz walk away with sigh and he's gonna get Liz back, he knows she just needs time.
