Chapter 17: "Red Meat"

Liz and Dean are in a cabin fighting werewolves, who've taken a couple hostage. Liz gets slammed on the ground by one of the wolves and she grunts. The werewolf snarls at Liz and it knocks her gun out of her hand. With a wave of Liz's hand, the werewolf is thrown away and Liz stands up going to retrieve her gun. As Liz goes to shoot the werewolf, a gun goes off and Liz feels a pain in her abdomen, and she looks down to see she's bleeding and she looks up at the werewolf Dean was fighting to see him smirking at her. Dean widens his eyes and watches Liz fall to the ground holding her bleeding stomach.

48 Hours Earlier, over the course of a few weeks, Liz and Dean got closer almost up to the point where they've almost shared a kiss but got cockblocked by either Sam or Henry. Right now, Liz and Dean are alone in the bunker, while Sam's out with Henry because Sam felt like he hasn't been spending much time with his nephew with everything that's been going on and he wanted to leave Liz and Dean alone knowing the looks they have been giving each other. While Dean's looking at lore, Liz's on her computer and she found a case. Liz looks over at Dean and she says, "How's it going over there?" Dean says, "Same." Liz says, "Hmm." Liz looks back over at her laptop and Dean says, "And you, anything?" Liz says, "Yeah, I think so." Dean looks up at Liz and says, "Yeah? On Amara, Lucifer, Hand of God?" Liz says, "No, no, it's a case. Werewolves looks like. Um, a pattern of missing campers-- five in the last three months." Dean says, "So, they got lost." Liz says, "Well, that's what the rangers thought, too, until a couple days ago, when they found a body--" Dean cuts Liz off and says, "Let me guess-- minus a heart." Liz says, "Yeah. Now, they're calling it an animal attack, but..." Dean says, "All right, well, why don't we make call and we put somebody on it." Liz says, "Yeah, but..." Liz sighs and closes her laptop. Liz looks at Dean and says, "We'll get him back." Dean says, "How?" Liz says, "I don't know, but you need to have faith that we will. In the meantime, we got to get out of here. Clear our heads. I mean, this is a case. Let's do what we do. Let's work it." Back in the future, where Liz is bleeding a lot, Dean then angrily kills off both of the werewolf's and rushes over to Liz. Dean has a first aid kit and brings it over to Liz and he says, "All right, all right." Liz grunts, "Dean, help them first." Dean looks up at the couple and says, "Okay, just hold tight, you two, okay? All right, listen, we got to get that bullet out of there, okay? This is going to hurt like hell." Dean lights up a tweezer and he puts a rolled-up gauze in Liz's mouth, so she can bite down on it. As Dean takes the bullet out, Liz grunts with tears in her eyes and Dean says, "All right. Almost got it. Almost got it. Right there. Come on, come on! Okay, there we go. There we go. Look at that, huh? Well, you know what? We got to keep that one. That one's going to be a little memento. We'll laugh about it some other time." Corbin says, "Guys? She ain't doing so good." Liz grunts, "I got it. Go to them." Dean nods and goes to untie the couple, while Liz wraps her wound in gaze. Once Dean gets the couple down, he goes back over to Liz and he says, "You good?" Liz nods and softly says, "Yeah." Dean says, "All right, keep pressure on it." Dean hands Corbin some bandages and he says, "Is there a landline in here?" Corbin says, "You don't have a cellphone?" Dean says, "There's no service for miles. I had a signal back at the car a couple miles back." Dean looks down at Liz and says, "Okay, listen to me. I'm going to go for a signal, okay? We're going to get you a real doctor. You're going to be just fine." Liz says, "Yeah, no, I know." Dean says, "Okay." Corbin looks at Dean and says, "Hey, we're coming!" Dean says, "No, no, no, no, no." Corbin helps his wife up and says, "Oh, no, we can't stay here, not with the others still out there." Liz says, "Others?" Dean says, "Okay, listen, my best friend's been shot. She can't stay here alone." Liz helps herself up and she says, "Yeah, I'm fine." Dean sees Liz struggling to stand up and he steady's her and says, "Liz, hey." Liz says, "I'm fine." Dean then wraps an arm around Liz's back, and he says, "Okay, guess we're going. Let's go." The four of them leave the cabin and are walking in the woods.
