Liz and Sam are in the library in the bunker when Dean walks in with a bag of food and he looks at Liz and Sam who are both on their computers and he says, "Did you catch us a case?" Sam says, "Uh, no. Uh... Get this. Some-- some dude took a picture of a weasel riding a flying woodpecker. Midair. I-it's kind of nuts." Dean says, "So, I'm guess there's nothing on the Amara-meter, either." Sam says, "Uh, no. I'm starting to think that God's psycho sister has gone to ground. What about you? Hear from Cass?" Dean says, "No, he said he was working on something to draw her out, but it's been radio silence since he was here." Sam says, "Yeah, all this quiet's starting to wig me out." Then Dean takes out a burger with a glazed donut on top and on bottom. Sam says, "What the hell is that?" Dean smiles and says, "That? That's the Elvis." Sam says, "Elvis?" Dean says, "Mm-hmm." Sam says, "I-is that a--" Dean cuts Sam off and says, "That's a glazed doughnut." Sam clears his throat and says, "Yeah." Dean says, "Two, actually. One topside, one on the bottom. Now, your inferior versions-- They'll just take one doughnut, split it right down the middle. Mnh-mnh. Boom." Dean does chef's kiss and Sam says, "All right, well, uh, hope you enjoy it. Wow." Sam slides the sandwich over to Dean and Dean says, "You know there are starving children out there." Sam says, "Dude, I'm not gonna survive hundreds of monster attacks to get flatlined by-- by some double doughnut monstrosity." Dean says, "The Elvis!" Sam says, "Whatever. How many calories are in that thing?" Dean says, "Don't care." Liz says, "I'll give the other sandwich to Henry." Dean nods and says, "You know what? I'll do it." Liz says, "You sure?" Dean nods and says, "Yeah. I have something I want to give him anyway." Liz says, "Okay." Dean grabs the burger and walks down the hallway to his son's room. As Dean arrives at Henry's door, he hears him on the phone, and he knocks on the door. Henry says, "Who is it?" Dean says, "Dad." Henry rolls his eyes and says, "What do you want?" Dean says, "I got some food for you." Henry sighs and says, "Hang on, Mason. It's my dad." Mason says, "Okay, man." Henry takes off his headset and walks over to the door and opens it. Henry grabs the bag of food from his dad and as he shuts the door, Dean puts his hand on it and says, "Wait." Henry sighs and says, "What?" Dean clears his throat and takes out two tickets to a baseball game and he says, "I got you these tickets if you wanted to go." Henry grabs the tickets and says, "Cool. Bye." Henry slams the door in Dean's face, and he sighs. Liz followed after Dean, and she watches Dean's crestfallen face when Henry slammed the door in his face. Liz softly says, "Hey, he'll come around." Dean looks up at Liz and says, "And if he doesn't?" Liz says, "He can't hate you forever." Dean nods. Dean's phone rings and he answers, "Hey. Long time. Your, uh, "Caddyshack" review is way overdue. Yeah, you got it. We're there." Dean hangs up and Liz says, "Who was that?" Dean says, "Claire and I think we may have a case." Liz nods and says, "Okay." Dean says, "I'll got tell Sam." Liz nods and she walks over to Henry's room, and she walks in without knocking and Henry looks at his mom and he smiles, "Hey, mom." Liz crosses her arms and says, "Hey. You know your dad's trying, why are you being so mean to him?" Henry drops his smile and scoffs, "I'm being mean? You think I'm going to forgive him just 'cause he gave me two tickets to a baseball game? Yeah, right." Liz says, "Hen, you can't hate him forever." Henry says, "Sam hated his, why can't I?" Liz says, "Your father is nothing like his father. You can't compare them." Henry rolls his eyes and says, "Whatever." Liz says, "Anyway, we're leaving, so you've got the bunker to yourself." Henry nods and Liz sighs, leaving Henry's room and closing the door. Later, Liz and the boys arrive in Sioux Falls and they're at Jody's sitting in the living room with Claire, when Jody walks in with Alex and she says, "Well, there goes the neighborhood. Hi." Jody hugs Liz and Liz smiles, "Hey." As Jody hugs Sam, Liz looks over at Alex with a smile and says, "Hey, you." Alex smiles at Liz and says, "Hey." Liz hugs Alex and Sam helps Jody with the bags of groceries in her hands. Jody then hugs Dean, and he says, "It has been too long." Sam says, "Yeah, clearly, it's been too long 'cause, Alex, that is you, right?" Alex says, "I don't look that different." Claire says, "It's amazing what you can accomplish when you spend two hours in the bathroom every morning." Alex says, "Since when are you even up in the morning? I'm surprised you're awake now." Jody says, "Hey, I'm pretty sure they didn't come here to watch you two kill each other. Is everything okay? I didn't accidentally butt-dial you or anything, did I?" Dean points at Claire and says, "Sh--" Claire cuts Dean off and says, "I called about the monsters that you refuse to believe are monsters." As Claire walks away, Jody says, "Oh, you got to be kidding. You know, if you'd checked with me, I could have saved you a trip." Liz says, "Well, we figured we owed you the visit." Jody says, "And you know what? Actually, I could use the backup. Let me have that." Jody grabs the bags from Sam and says, "I'm gonna go put another chicken on. You settle in." As Jody walks away, Dean says, "M-might want to make it two. I'm... just gonna..." Sam says, "Yeah." Dean says, "I'm starving." Later, everyone's sitting at the table. Liz is in between Sam and Dean with Claire and Alex in front of them while Jody's siting at the head of the table. Sam and Dean are devouring the meal and Liz is trying to hold in her laugh at how they're eating like they've haven't eaten in forever. Dean moans, "Oh, this bird is fantastic. And when you mix it up with the potatoes and the-- the beans-- you guys eat like this every day?" Jody says, "It's just chicken." Sam says, "It's shaped like chicken. Not a patty or-- or a nugget." Claire rolls her eyes and says, "Can we get to the case? Three people are missing." Jody says, "There is no evidence that they didn't skip town on their own. Two of them were runaways. One was a homeless guy." Claire says, "He was last seen at Brayden Point. I've been stalking it out." Dean reaches over to Liz to grab more mashed potatoes and Sam says, "Dude." Dean says, "There's plenty left. Brayden Point?" Jody says, "Yeah, it's where the kids go to make out. And, yes, there's about four pounds left on the stove." Claire says, "Guys, there's something out there. People are reporting animals they've never seen before, things stalking their front yards that disappear." Jody says, "This is according to the--" Alex goes to grab Jody's wine and Jody says, "Hey, put it back--" Alex puts it back and Jody continues to say, "Neighborhood crime blogs that Claire has been reading." Claire says, "They're eyewitness accounts." Liz says, "It sounds like it could be worth checking out." Claire smiles gratefully at Liz because someone actually agrees with her. Dean says, "What else you got?" Claire says, "I'm-- I'm working on it." Alex says, "Claire did catch a werewolf. Oh, right, it turned out to be a German shepherd with rabies." Jody says, "And before that was the vampire-- councilwoman into erotic cosplay. I didn't know what cosplay was before that. Super-embarrassing for the whole force." Dean looks at Claire and says, "Wow. You've been busy." Claire says, "I've been hunting." Jody says, "A.K.A., menacing innocent people. Claire has a whole string of assaults racked up. The only reason she's not sitting in jail right now is that I'm the sheriff." Claire says, "Fine, I've been wrong. But this time I know there's a monster." Alex says, "Can we stop talking about monsters and hunting? What about real life?" Claire says, "Real life? Okay. Yeah, sure. Let's get real. You and Henry settle on a weekend yet?" Alex says, "What?" Claire says, "When you're sneaking out to Jody's cabin to screw yourselves silly." Jody stares shocked at Alex. Alex can't believe that Claire brought that up. Dean says, "Whoa. Here we go." Alex says, "We're not..." Alex looks at a smiling Claire and says, "You're completely insane." Claire says, "You might want to clear your g-chats before you commit to that." Sam says, "This seems like, uh, family business." Jody slams her hand on the table and says, "Sit! Stay!" Claire chuckles. Jody clears her throat, looks at Alex, and says, "Alex, anything you want to say?" Alex says, "Nope." Jody says, "Okay, uh, well, um, I-I may have-- I've definitely seen birth control pills in your backpack." Sam says, "Oh, we're going there." Dean says, "Okay." Alex says, "Oh, my God." Jody says, "Hey, if we can't talk about it, we shouldn't be doing it, right?" Jody looks at Liz, Sam, and Dean. Jody says, "Right?" Dean says, "What?" Liz rolls her eyes at Dean and Sam and says, "Right." Jody nods at Liz and says, "Thank you." Jody says, "Okay, I'm not gonna tell you that you are too young to be having sex, or you." Alex says, "Who's she gonna have sex with? She doesn't talk to anybody." Jody says, "Hey, um, what I will tell you is that birth control pills are useless against STDs. Whoever you are with needs to suit up every time, always. No pulling up the drawbridge early." Alex's disgusted and says, "Oh, I get it." Claire chuckles. Jody says, "And don't expect the guy, as much as I love Henry, to always show up packing. Am I right?" Dean says, "What?" Liz says, "Right." Jody is so glad Liz understands. Alex says, "Stop! We haven't done anything yet. I'm just... trying to be prepared." Jody says, "Great. Um... we need some more mashed potatoes, right? Mashed pota-- I'm just gonna-- I'm gonna... I'm gonna get some more potatoes. Po-ta-toes." Jody down her glass of wine and leaves the table. Liz looks at Alex and softly says, "Hey." Alex looks at Liz and Liz continues to say, "There's nothing wrong with being prepared." Alex nods. Liz says, "Jody's a little new to this. That's why she freaked out, but I wouldn't worry too much. Do you love him?" Alex softly smiles and says, "Yeah." Liz says, "You'll be fine." Alex says, "Thanks." Later, Liz is in the kitchen with Jody helping with washing the dishes. Liz says, "You know, I think you should go a little easy on Alex." Jody says, "Really?" Liz says, "I mean, she's being careful. Way more careful when I was her age." Jody chuckles and says, "I remember. I guess I'm afraid she's gonna end up pregnant." Liz says, "It looks like she's got it handled. Who you need to be more worried about is Claire. I don't want her going overhead, then she already is." Jody says, "I know. The last guy Claire pegged as a monster; she held a sword to his throat. He is hell-bent on pressing charges." Liz says, "You know, I got to be honest, I really thought it was gonna be Alex with the adjustment issues." Jody says, "Oh, yeah, it was rough going there for a bit, too. But this year, everything clicked. She's dating the most popular guy in school, for gosh sake." Liz smiles and says, "I'm proud of her." Jody says, "But even there, I feel like I should be teaching her about boyfriends and relationships. You know, stuff a mom would teach her. But I'm not Alex's mom. I'm not Claire's mom. I didn't raise them. I don't have that kind of history with them." Liz says, "We can talk to Claire, and we'll get her to settle down a bit." Jody sighs and says, "It's not just Claire busting heads." Liz says, "There's more?" Jody says, "Yeah, she started college, but she hasn't been to classes for weeks. She doesn't have any friends. She spends all her time trolling for cases and reading lore. You know, I've got nothing against hunting, but if she's hiding in it because she doesn't have anything else, I'm just-- I'm worried about her being so alone." Liz nods and says, "Well, I'll put Sam on it. He's more experience with college aspect." Later, while the boys go to a motel to crash, Liz stayed behind at Jody's to stay the night. Liz's in the kitchen making herself a cup of tea when Jody walks in and says, "Hey." Liz looks up and says, "Hey. You want some?" Jody says, "Sure." Liz hands Jody a cup and they go sit down in the living room. Jody says, "So, tell me what's being going with you?" Liz sighs and says, "Where do I start?" Jody says, "How about start with your missing ring on your finger? I mean, you never take that ring off." Liz sighs and says, "Me and Dean aren't together anymore." Jody says, "Oh, Liz. I'm sorry." Liz sips here tea and says, "Yeah." Jody says, "Can I ask what happened?" Liz says, "Um, well, he killed me. Like literally." Jody widens her eyes and says, "Oh, my God." Liz says, "Yeah, honestly it's hard to be around him." Jody says, "How do you do it?" Liz says, "I don't focus on him, I focus on anything else. I have to be strong, if I don't then I breakdown." Jody says, "Liz, you're one of the strongest women I know. I know, you can get through this." Liz softly smiles and says, "Thanks." Jody says, "Do you think that you and Dean will ever get back together?" Liz says, "I don't know. I guess I'm just afraid I'm gonna get hurt again." Jody rubs Liz's arm and says, "Hey, you know, I'm here if you ever need anything." Liane softly smiles and says, "I know. I appreciate it. It's always so nice to talk to you. You're the only mom-figure in my life that I can talk about these types of things to." Jody nods and says, "Yeah." Liz lays her head on Jody's shoulder and Jody lays her head on Liz's head with a sigh.
