While Dean goes to check on Castiel, Liz goes to Chuck. Liz kneels in front of Chuck and softly says, "Hey. Chuck. Can you hear me? Hey, can you hear me?" Chuck opens his eyes with a groan. Liz says, "Are you, uh... how do you feel?" Chuck says, "You know when you're driving, and a bug hits your windshield? I'm the bug." Liz says, "So, what Amara said about you..." Chuck says, "Dying. Yeah, whatever she did to me, I can feel my spark, my light fading. And when it's gone..." Dean says, "Okay, well, t-tell us how to fix you." Chuck says, "You can't. I-I-I suppose she could, maybe, but that's never going to happen." They hear a door close, and Dean gets out his gun and points it at Rowena. Rowena says, "So, that was a gun in your pocket." Dean puts his gun down and Sam helps Chuck up. Crowley appears and says, "Well... that was a complete and utter dog's breakfast, wasn't it?" Castiel says, "I didn't know dogs had breakfast." Dean says, "Cass is back." Rowena says, "Just curious-- has anyone bothered to look outside?" Everyone goes outside and they look at the sun to see the sun fading. Dean says, "What is it?" Sam says, "It looks like the sun is--" Castiel cuts Sam off and says, "Dying." Sam says, "Why would Amara do that?" Castiel says, "The sun is the source of all life on earth. Without it, everything just... just wastes away." Dean says, "Let's get the hell out of here." Then they're all in the bunker. Crowley points to Chuck and says, "You." Chuck says, "Still got a few tricks up my sleeve. I'm not dead y..." Chuck loses his balance and Sam catches him and says, "Oh, whoa. Okay. I got you." Chuck says, "I should probably sit down." Sam says, "Yeah. Come on." Sam helps Chuck into a chair. Castiel says, "Okay. What do we do now?" Dean walks away and Liz and Castiel follow closely behind. They find Dean in the kitchen drinking a beer. Liz says, "Really?" Dean sighs and says, "Really. What? We hit Amara with everything we got, and she walked it off. So..." Liz says, "So, it's last call?" Dean says, "That's right. Look, babe. If you've got something for me to punch, shoot, or kill, let me know and I'll do it. I'll do it till I die. But how are we supposed to fix the frigging sun?" Dean already downed three beer bottles. Dean says, "You know what? This isn't going to be enough. I better make a run. No reason to die sober, huh? You want to?" Liz glares at Dean and says, "No! I'll stay here, find our Plan B." Dean says, "Okay. Cass, come on." Rowena walks into the kitchen and says, "Teapot?" Liz walks over to the kettle and grabs it and says, "Here." Rowena softly smiles and says, "Thank you, deary." Liz nods and she bristles past Dean and goes into her room to get all the lore books from her shelf, and she walks back into the room to find Rowena and Chuck drinking tea and Crowley drinking scotch. Liz scoffs and says, "Unbelievable. Guys, Amara's out there eating the freaking sun, and we're doing nothing." Crowley says, "And you have a better idea?" Liz says, "Yes. Anything. That's my better idea, because anything is better than this." Chuck says, "Liz. I get it. Even if we could lock Amara away, it wouldn't do any good now. I'm dying. And when I'm gone, a cosmic balance between light and dark-- it's over." Liz says, "All right. Then if we can't cage her, we have to kill her." Crowley whispers, "Bingo." Later, Dean and Castiel are back in the bunker because Liz has a plan. Sam's also back because he went for a walk to clear his head. Now, everyone's gathered in the library and Dean says, "Wait, so now you want to kill the Darkness? You're cool with this? 'Cause, you know, last time..." Liz says, "Look, Chuck's dying. Uh, no offense, Chuck." Chuck says, "Yeah, no, I-- I'm dying." Liz says, "So, we don't really have a choice. I mean, look. You've got darkness and light. You take one side away and--" Castiel cuts Liz off and says, "It upsets the scales-- the whole balance of the universe." Liz says, "Exactly. But you take both away, and now both sides of the scale are empty, so..." Castiel says, "Of course. It's balanced." Dean says, "Right. Yes. Okay. Uh, and look. Hey, I'm game, but how exactly are we going to do this? I mean, Lucifer hit her with a-a hand of God, and, well, we saw how that turned out." Sam says, "Yeah." Castiel says, "She does seem impossible to destroy." Sam says, "Right. Is she, Chuck?" Chuck sighs, "Well, I... I mean, well... I...I-I--" As Dean says, "Chuck!" Rowena says, "Charles!" Chuck sighs, "All right. Fine. The Darkness might-- might have a weakness-- Light." Chuck gets up and grabs a bottle of scotch and goes back to sit down. Crowley says, "He tells us now." Chuck says, "What? I-I just wanted to trap her. I didn't want to murder her." Liz says, "Okay, but now that we're trying to end her, how much light are talking about?" Chuck says, "I don't know. 10,000 suns set to supernova." Dean says, "Well, y-you're God. So, just God them up." Chuck says, "Look at me. I'm... not in the best shape right now." Liz says, "Okay. Uh, that's all right. Uh, we just need other ideas. Um... Rowena. What about the Book of the Damned?" Rowena scoffs, "This is beyond..." Liz looks at Crowley says, "Okay, Crowley?" Crowley says, "Oh, I got nothing." Castiel looks at Crowley and says, "Well, what about souls? They fuel your demon deals. Souls are living batteries. They're full of energy. They're full of light. Each one is as powerful as... 100 suns?" Rowena says, "H-He's not wrong." Dean says, "Okay, so if we got this kind of juice, then what?" Rowena says, "You get me enough souls... I can build a bomb." Sam looks at Chuck and says, "Will that do the trick?" Chuck says, "Uh... maybe." Liz says, "All right. Plan B." Dean says, "Okay. How many souls are we talking here?" Rowena says, "The more the better." Crowley says, "Even if you could get that kind of firepower... you really think it would work?" Castiel says, "I can ask the angels. Heaven is full of souls." Liz says, "Okay. Uh, what else we got?" Dean says, "Ghosts. Well, they're just souls with baggage, right?" Sam says, "Yeah, but we would need a whole lot of them." Dean says, "Waverly Hills." Sam chuckles and says, "Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Of course. Thousands died there." Dean says, "Ton of ghosts." Crowley says, "This is desperate... and stupid." Dean says, "Well, desperate and stupid's pretty much all we got right now, so..." Crowley says, "Fine. I'll go raid Hell and see what's left." Liz says, "All right. Let's get to work." Later, Liz, Sam, and Dean arrive at the sanatorium and Dean says, "Really think this is going to work?" Liz says, "It has to." Sam nods and says, "Yeah and Rowena said it would." Dean says, "Oh. Yeah." Dean mimics Rowena's voice and says, "It's a Book of the Damned spell. Take this wee crystal. It'll suck all the blimey ghosts. Just say the magic word." Dean looks at Liz and Sam who are giving him weird looks. They walk into the building and the EMF's going crazy. They hear a gust of wind and turn their heads to a bunch of old papers flying away. A ghost appears and then disappears. Sam says, "Place really lives up to the hype." Dean says, "Yes, it does." They walk into a big open room and Dean says, "Let's give the magic word a shot, because we're six. All right. Let's bust some ghosts." They salt the room and Dean says, "Where the heck are they?" Sam says, "You got me." Dean says, "Get your Casper asses out here!" Sam says, "You know what? Liz, why don't you finish up? And me and Dean we'll go piss them off." Liz says, "Okay." The boys leave the room. Liz then finishes her salt line when a ghost appears, and she swings her iron rod at it. Sam and Dean lead the ghosts into the room and Sam says, "Okay, I think it worked!" While the boys handle the ghosts, Liz grabs the stone, tosses it into the air, and says, "Haggis!" All the ghosts into the room get sucked into the stone. The stone drops to the ground glowing with souls. Sam says, "Go magic word. Huh." Dean says, "Yeah." They leave the place not knowing that someone is watching them. Later, they're back in the bunker and Castiel says, "The angels are-- Heaven won't help." Dean says, "They know that this is the end, right? Of everything." Castiel says, "Yes." Liz says, "And they don't care?" Castiel says, "No, it's not that. It's... They know-- They know God is dying and they don't think we can win this. Souls or no souls. They're sealing Heaven, and they're 'dying with dignity.'" Dean sarcastically says, "Well, that's awesome." Liz looks at Crowley and says, "All right, Crowley. What about you?" Crowley says, "Well, I had all the souls we needed." Dean says, "What do you mean 'had'?" Crowley says, "While I was indisposed, a few of my demonic pals decided to raid my stash." Castiel says, "Well, what we have-- it's not enough." The emergency lights in the bunker go red and Crowley says, "Well, that could be nothing but good news." Sam and Dean both cock their guns and point it at the door, while Liz's hands glow getting ready for anything and Castiel gets his angle blade out. They hear footsteps approaching the door and the door opens revealing Billie, the Reaper. Everyone puts their weapons away. Billie says, "Nice digs." Sam says, "Billie?" Rowena says, "Who's Bille?" Dean says, "Reaper. Wants us dead. Tons of fun." Liz looks at Dean and says, "The same Reaper that told you I was alive?" Dean nods and says, "Yeah." Reaper looks at Crowley and says, "Hey." Sam says, "Wait a second. H-how did yo-- What are you doing here?" Billie says, "I saw you three at Waverly Hills, and call me a curious kitten, but with, you know, credits about to roll, I got to ask-- why you three busting ghosts?" Dean says, "Why do you care?" Reaper says, "Dead folks-- kind of my thing. So... spill." Sam says, "We're collecting souls to build a bomb." Dean says, "To blow the Darkness to hell." Billie says, "Okay." Sam says, "Okay? Uh, w-what does that mean, 'okay'?" Billie says, "Means way things are going, I'm about an hour away from reaping God himself." Castiel says, "So, you're here to help us." Billie says, "Little tip-- you want souls, call a reaper." Billie has the stone in her hands. Dean sarcastically says, "Well, this is exciting." The stone glows and a bunch of souls appear and go into the stone. Billie opens her eyes and Liz says, "How many souls are in there?" Billie says, "A couple hundred... thousand. I raided the veil. Like I said, dead folks-- Kind of my thing. We good?" Rowena grabs the stone and says, "Very." Reaper says, "Super." As Billie walks away, Dean says, "See you around." Billie turns around and says, "Yeah. You will. Just hope it's not today. Crowley." They both give each other suggestive looks and Liz scrunches up her nose in disgust. Castiel says, "So, what now?" Liz says, "Well, now we have the bomb, so we just got to find Amara." Chuck says, "I can track her. She's not warded anymore. Why would she be? She won." Dean says, "Okay, so?" Castiel says, "We need somebody to get close to her, someone with a... personal connection." Everyone looks at Dean and Dean nods and says, "Well, what are we waiting for? How do I smuggle this thing?" Crowley says, "We could always shove it up your--" Dean cuts Crowley off and says, "Hey." Crowley says, "I mean, you could." Rowena says, "You won't carry the bomb. You'll be the bomb. I'm going to take what's in there... and put it in here. Once you get close to her, you press your fingers together like so-- boom." Liz and Sam widen their eyes. Dean nods and says, "Okay." As Rowena holds the stone she says a spell, "Sine mora surgatis." A white beam comes out of the stone and goes into Dean. Liz's holding onto Sam's arm, and she looks away. Dean groans and Castiel says, "Dean, are you okay? How do you feel?" Dean says, "Like my insides just got flame-broiled. Is that normal?" Rowena says, "Sweetie, we're so far past normal. You've got about an hour, maybe a wee bit more, then you're literally a walking ticking time bomb." Later, everyone's at the cemetery and the boys are in front of Mary's grave while everyone's at a distance away. Sam says, "Dean, you know, you don't have to do this." Dean nods and says, "'Course I do. I just have to get close. I can do that, okay? I can do that." Sam says, "You know, if this works, um, that bomb goes off." Dean says, "I know." Dean pats Sam's shoulder and he walks away. Dean looks at Chuck and says, "You cool with this?" Chuck says, "No. I-- Even after everything she's done, Amara's still my sister. She's, my family. I can't-- I don't want to see her dead, but..." Dean says, "Yeah?" Chuck says, "I understand." Castiel says, "Dean." Dean looks at Castiel and says, "Cass." Castiel hugs Dean and Dean pats Castiel's back and says, "Okay. All right." They pull away and Castiel says, "I could go with you." Dean says, "No, no, no. No, I got to do this alone. Listen, if-- when-- when this works, Liz, Sam-- they're going to be a mess. So, look out for them, okay? Make sure they don't do anything stupid." Castiel says, "Of course." Dean places his hand on Castiel's shoulder and says, "Thank you for everything. Okay, look. I want a big funeral. All right? I'm talking epic. Okay? Open bar, choir, Sabbath cover band, and Gary Busy reading the eulogy." Sam says, "Done." Dean says, "And for my ashes, I like it here. Yeah. You know, as far as eternal resting places go." Dean takes out the keys to the Impala and he walks over to Sam, and he says, "Come on. You know the drill. No chick-flick moments. Come on." Sam clears his throat, grabs the keys, and says, "Yeah, you love chick flicks." Dean says, "Yeah, you're right. I do. Come here." Dean brings Sam in for a hug, and they pull away. Dean then looks over at Liz, who has tears in her eyes, and he walks over to her and grabs the hand with the engagement ring on it and he kisses it and says, "Liz, I'll always love you. I want you to make me a promise." Liz softly says, "Okay." Dean says, "I want you to find someone who'd treat you right. Someone who'd love just as much as I love you. Will you do that for me?" Liz says, "Dean." Dean says, "Baby, promise me." Liz sighs and says, "I promise, Dean." Dean nods and brings Liz in for one last hug and Liz squeezes Dean with tears rolling down her cheeks. Dean pulls away and softly kisses Liz tasting her tears. Dean pulls away and places one last kiss on Liz's forehead and he pulls away and says, "Okay. Let's do this." Chuck snaps his fingers and Dean disappears. Later, everyone arrives at a bar, and they see a crowd with a man holding a sign that says, "The end is near." Crowley says, "He's not wrong." As they walk to the door, there's a sign that says, "Sorry, we're closed." Crowley sighs and says, "One little apocalypse and they shut up shop. Quitters." Crowley flicks the doors open and they walk in. Crowley says, "Your round, Moose." Liz walks around the bar and she grabs a bottle of whiskey, and she goes to sit in the corner away from everyone drinking with more tears down her face. Crowley turns on the tv and the news anchor says, "And while law enforcement is telling people not to panic, residents are being advised to stay in their homes as authorities are baffled by this st--" Crowley turns off the tv and says, "Boring." Castiel looks over at Chuck and says, "He looks horrible." Sam walks over to Chuck, and he says, "Hey, Chuck. How are you holding up?" Chuck says, "Oh, aces." Sam says, "You know, we, um... we need you to try and hang in there just a little longer." Chuck says, "I know. I'm trying." Sam says, "I'm going to go get you some water." Sam walks away and pours Chuck a cup of water, he turns around to find Chuck gone. Sam says, "Chuck? Chuck?!" Moments later, the sun comes out and everyone leaves the bar to see that the sun is really bright. Crowley says, "He did it." Rowena says, "He bloody did it." Crowley says, "And Dean?" Meanwhile with Dean, Amara restores Chuck back to the way he was. Chuck looks at Dean and says, "I think we're just going to go away for a while and..." Dean says, "Hey, yeah. Family meeting. I get it." Chuck says, "But first..." Chuck places his hand on Dean removing the bomb inside of him. Chuck says, "Better?" Dean says, "What about us? What about Earth?" Chuck says, "Earth will be fine. It's got you... Liz and Sam. Oh, speaking of Liz, when you see her. Give her this." Chuck hands Dean a small vile of a glowing blue substance, which is Liz's grace. Dean puts Liz's grace into his pocket. Chuck walks over to Amara and holds her hand. Amara says, "Dean, you gave me what I needed most. I want to do the same for you. Also, as a gift for my great niece, for saying I'm sorry, she'll have what she needs the most also." Amara and Chuck then disappear into light and darkness, and they fly away into the sky. Later, Liz, Sam, and Castiel walk into the bunker and as they're walking down the stairs, Castiel says, "Guys, I'm so sorry. If you two want to talk... I'm here if you guys need anything." They hear an unfamiliar voice say, "Hello, hello." They look up to see a woman and she puts her hand on a sigil and Castiel vanishes. Sam says, "Cass!" As Sam goes to get his gun out, the woman has her gun out and says, "Don't. Elizabeth Singer and Sam Winchester. Toni Bevell. Men of Letters, London Chapterhouse. Oh, you won't have heard of me-- us. We're very traditional. Keep out of the way, keep to our studies." Liz says, "You, um... what?" Toni says, "They sent me to take you guys in." Liz scoffs and says, "To take us in?" Toni says, "Assuming the world didn't end, and--yay." Sam says, "Look, lady--" Toni cuts Sam off and says, "We've been watching you, Elizabeth, Sam. What you've guys done, the damage you've caused-- archangels, Leviathans, the Darkness, and now, well-- the old men have decided enough's enough. I mean, let's face it, Elizabeth, Sam." Toni looks at Sam and says, "You're just a jumped-up hunter playing with things you don't understand and doing more harm than good." Toni then looks at Liz and says, "And you, you're nothing but a witch who doesn't know how much power she holds. Now, where's Dean?" Sam says, "Dead. Listen, lady. I don't know who the hell you are or what the hell you want--" Toni cuts Sam off and says, "Stop." Sam says, "Put the gun down." Toni says, "I said stop." Sam says, "You and I both know you're not going to pull the trigger." As Sam keeps walking forward, Toni shoots her gun. Meanwhile, with Dean he's in the woods trying to find his way to the bunker when he hears a woman say, "Help! Help me!" Dean leaves the woods, and he stops dead in his tracks when he sees a familiar woman alive and he's confused and says, "Mom?"
