Liz, Sam, and Dean walk in the bunker with beer and takeout. Sam says, "Guys? Hey. How's it going in here?" They walk down the stairs and Chuck says, "Listen, I know I've been gone for a while. I missed a few million birthdays." Lucifer says, "Yeah, and then the second your apes send a distress flare-- Boom!-- Daddy's home." Chuck says, "No, that's not what happened." Dean says, "Hey, these apes saved your ass." Lucifer glares and goes to snap his fingers, but nothing happens. Chuck says, "He can't hurt you." Lucifer says, "Oh, so you're controlling me now." Chuck says, "No, it's just a safeguard." Sam says, "Hey, guys, uh, Chuck, um... Lucifer, Liz, Dean... think we can try and focus here, you know? End of the world, common enemy, all that." Lucifer says, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Team Amara. Go, Amara." Lucifer gets all in Chuck's face and Chuck says, "You don't mean that." Lucifer says, "You're really not going to say it." Liz says, "He's not going to say what?" Lucifer says, "Screw you. Screw all of you." Lucifer walks away. Chuck sighs and walks away, but he looks back at the three of them and says, "Kids, huh?" Later, there's loud rock music being blasted throughout the halls. While Liz's eating the food they got, the boys go handle Lucifer. Lucifer's in Sam's room and Sam's banging on the door, yelling, "Lucifer! You know, at some point in time, you're going to have to come out and-- and talk to... God." Dean says, "This is like the worst episode of "Full House" ever." Lucifer turns the volume down and says, "If Dad has something to say to me, I'll hear it from him. Until then, I'll be in my room." Dean says, "It's not your room." Sam says, "It's my room." Lucifer increases the volume and Dean says, "Whatever." Later, Liz, Sam, and Dean are in the kitchen sitting at metal the table, while Chuck's making pancakes. Sam says, "Talk to him." Chuck says, "Won't do any good." Sam says, "Why not?" Chuck says, "'Cause I can't give him what he wants." Liz says, "And what's that?" Chuck says, "What everyone wants-- my sister, my children, my granddaughter, you humans-- an apology. A big, wet 'I'm sorry.'" Liz says, "Well, so give it to him. It's not like he's asking for a weapon or for Hell or for Heaven. He's asking for words." Chuck sighs and says, "I can't say I'm sorry if I'm not. What he wants an apology for, I did it for humanity, for the world. Look, Lucifer wants what everybody wants-- Amara gone. Okay, let's just... give him a little time to cool off." Dean says, "Okay, well, I don't know if you noticed, but a little time is not something we have. The end is freaking nigh." Later, Liz, Sam, and Dean are in the library with Lucifer and Chuck sitting in front of each other. Sam says, "One of you is gonna have to go first. You know what? Uh, Lucifer, you agreed to have a sit-down if God would show, so..." Dean says, "And, Chuck, you-- you did say you'd talk." Lucifer says, "Him first. I'm the one who's owed an explanation." Chuck sighs not saying anything. Dean says, "Okay, let's-- let's try "I feel" statements. Dr. Phil. Huh?" Sam says, "Oh, yeah, of course. Obviously." Liz, Sam, and Dean sit on the steps. Chuck says, "I am sorry that you feel... that I betrayed you, that I acted without cause. I'm sorry that you can't see, you gave me no choice. I'm good." Lucifer looks at the three and says, "You heard that, right?" Sam looks at Chuck and says, "W-we all know that you are God, um, but... maybe could you be a-a little less... Lordly?" Chuck says, "But I am-- I-I'm the Lord." Lucifer says, "Wow. There he goes." Chuck says, "I did what I had to do. To create the world, I had to lock Amara away. And when the Mark corrupted you and I saw that you posed a threat to humankind, I did the same with you." Lucifer says, "No, you betrayed me. You gave me the Mark to lock her away, and when it changed me, when it did what the Mark inevitably does... you threw me away." Lucifer says, "No, Son. The Mark-- You always cast a jaundiced glance at humans. The Mark didn't change you. It just made you more of what you already were." Lucifer leans forward and says, "What I was, was your son... your child." Chuck says, "Why should I put you first above all others?" Lucifer looks at the three and says, "Do you have any idea what it's like to argue with your father when your father is God?" Lucifer looks back at Chuck and continues to say, "Everything is a tautology with you. Everything is, "because I told you so." Everything is, 'It had to be done.'" Dean says, "Pretty sure that's all fathers." Sam clears his throat and Lucifer says, "Okay. Fine. Big picture, as God, you did what you had to do. But little picture-- you sucked at being a dad." Chuck says, "Okay, maybe I didn't handle everything perfectly. But tell me... could I have kept humankind safe with you on the board? I know about your little bid to replace me with the angels. Okay, "New God," what would you have done about you?" Lucifer defensively says, "That is not the point!" Liz sighs and says, "I can't believe I'm actually about to say this, but, um... Lucifer is right. All he wants is an apology, and you're too concerned about being right to give him one. But apologies aren't always about being right. Sometimes they're just about apologizing." Dean nods and says, "Yeah, a-and the great thing about apologies is you don't have to mean them. You know, I-I lie and tell Sam I'm sorry all the time." Sam glares at Dean and Dean says, "I'm sorry. See? That's..." Chuck says, "Okay, enough from the peanut gallery." Liz, Sam, and Dean are zapped upstairs and Liz glares at Dean and says, "Nice going Dean. You just had to make it worse." Dean sheepishly smiles and says, "Sorry." Moments later, Chuck and Lucifer walk together over to the map room and Liz looks down at them and says, "So, are we good?" Lucifer and Chuck nod. Dean says, "Okay. Great." Sam says, "So, what now?" Chuck says, "We trap Amara, put her back in the box." Dean says, "Wait, what?" Chuck looks at Liz and says, "You were right. She needs to be destroyed. But I won't kill her." Liz says, "Why not?" Chuck says, "Amara's been caged for billions of years, but... you know, she was always there. She had to be there-- you know, yin and yang, you know, uh, dark and light." Dean says, "English, Chuck." Chuck sighs and zaps the three of downstairs and he says, "There's a harmony, a balance in the universe. Lights needs dark, dark needs light. If you blow one of them up, then, I mean..." Lucifer says, "It wouldn't be a good thing. It'd be really not a good thing. Like, end of reality, not good." Sam says, "Okay, so we gift-wrap Amara. I mean, we got the team back together, so--" Chuck cuts Sam off and says, "Not quite. We're still a few members short of the original lineup." Lucifer says, "Yeah, first time, it took the combined strength of me and brothers to weaken Amara before... Daddy-o finished her off." Chuck says, "Yeah, even then, it was close. No, with just the two of us, we'll lose." Dean says, "Okay, so, what we'll need more group therapy between you and the archangels if we want to have a shot?" Chuck says, "Well, Michael's in no condition to fight. And it's outside of my power to bring Gabriel and Raphael back." Sam says, "But you restored Castiel." Chuck says, "Archangels are different. They're the stuff primordial creation. Rebuilding them, it's-- it's time we don't have." Liz says, "All right. So, what do you need to win?" Chuck says, "What do you got? So, what do we bring to the table to make up for archangel power?" Sam says, "We could try and find more Hands of God." Chuck holds up his hands and says, "A little redundant." Dean says, "Well, what about Crowley? Big demon power, former King of Hell. He was a player in his day." Lucifer says, "We have the angels." Liz says, "Rowena. I mean, she's a snake, but she's a powerful witch. And she's got the Book of the Damned." Sam says, "Getting these groups to enlist and then work together, it's not going to be easy." Dean says, "Couldn't you just compel them?" Chuck says, "I invented free will for a reason." Dean says, "So, we're tying our hands on principle?" Chuck says, "No, you can't make an effective solider by force. They have to choose this fight." Dean says, "But they're going to want to know they're backing a winner." Lucifer says, "So..." Lucifer nods his head at Chuck. Liz gets the hint and she says, "You want us to play the God card?" Chuck smiles and says, "Yeah." Lucifer says, "So, what's the plan?" Sam says, "We assemble our band of brothers, hit Amara with everything we've got. Then when she's weak..." Chuck says, "I finish her off." Sam says, "So... a page from the original playbook. This time with witches and demons subbing for archangels." Lucifer says, "Exactly." Dean says, "I still don't like it. But why trap her when you can kill her, you know? I-I mean, I got to admit, there's a lot less room for error if you shoot to kill." Chuck says, "I explained why." Dean says, "Right, but why keep her in play? So, she can escape, and we can go through this all over again?" Liz says, "Dean, what is this about?" Dean says, "I-- Nothing. Am I the only one thinking rational here?" Lucifer looks at Liz and says, "It's about her. Liz, it's about his girlfriend." Dean glares at Lucifer and says, "Okay. Shut up." Lucifer says, "I mean, think about it. Dean Winchester meets the biggest evil in the universe, and he takes a pass? Come on. Now, he wants Daddy to do what he couldn't." Liz looks at Dean and says, "Is he right?" Dean looks at Liz and says, "Oh, I'm not getting into it with him. Not going to happen." Liz has her answer when Dean dodged the question. Lucifer looks at Dean and says, "Hey, Dean. Come on, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. We opened a vein for you three." Dean says, "I tried to kill her. And it didn't work." Chuck says, "Maybe it didn't work because you didn't want it to work. Maybe you didn't want to kill her." Sam says, "You want God to kill Amara because you don't want Amara to be killed?" Dean says, "Yeah, maybe there's a part of me that just can't hurt her. But if she's already dead..." Sam says, "Then she's already dead. Right." Lucifer says, "Well, that got weird." Sam says, "Dean... we always sweat this stuff, these choices. But, for once, we have God on our side. I mean, for once, we can actually just do things his way." Later, Liz arrives in Grand Isle, Louisiana because that's where Rowena is. Liz walks into the small cabin hearing Rowena say, "A jaw of pig?" Liz holds up the jaw and says, "Check." Both women face Liz and Rowena says, "What are you doing here, daughter? Give it!" Liz says, "Not till we've talked." Rowena says, "You walked right into a powerful coven." The woman says, "Ah, it takes three for a coven." Rowena rolls her eyes and says, "Witch's den... without a weapon." Liz's eyes glows and says, "You and I both know I don't need a weapon. Besides you can't." The woman looks at Liz intrigued and says, "She's right. Read her aura. She's under some potent protection. Never seen that before. Hear your daughter out." Rowena rolls her eyes and says, "Well?" Liz says, "We need you." Rowena smiles. Liz says, "We're going to play the God card." Rowena chuckles and says, "God's back. You've tricked me before, Elizabeth. Why would I believe a word you say?" The woman says, "It would explain that aura of protection. Not no regular magic." Rowena looks at Clea and says, "Clea, dear, is this how it's going to be with is in Crete?" Clea rolls her eyes and Rowena looks back at her daughter and says, "Even if God's back, why would I care? Hello, pagan here. I serve magic, not God. Sorry. Not interested." Clea says, "I am. What? I can't serve both?" Clea hold up her gold cross around her neck. Rowena says, "No." Clea says, "Row, you brought me a plan to escape. This here's an opportunity to fight and win." Liz says, "She's right." Rowena looks at her daughter and says, "Nobody's talking to you, blondie." Clea says, "I can enlist others. Sister witches." Rowena says, "You're mad. We don't stand a chance against Amara!" Clea says, "Rowena, honey... there is a chance." Clea hold up a tarot card with the sun on it." Liz explains the plan and Rowena says, "Simple... bordering on insane." Liz says, "Still in?" Later, everyone's in an industrial warehouse and Crowley says, "I don't hold grudges. Besides, that dog collar was a lovely touch, really made my eyes pop. Almost wore it here today." Lucifer says, "Oh, I'm glad you're such a good sport." Rowena walks over and Lucifer looks over at Rowena and says, "Hey, Red. Looking gorgeous as ever. Hey, I think a little apology is in order." Rowena says, "You think you're the first man to try and kill me?" Rowena looks at her son and says, "Hello, Fergus." Crowley says, "Mother." A bright light appears, and Chuck appears. Chuck says, "Hello, my children." Crowley says, "Him?" Chuck says, "Rowena. Crowley. It's good to finally meet you in person." As Rowena walks forward, she says, "Sorry about, well, everything I've ever done in my life. Really, y-you can't have been a fan." Chuck says, "Oh, yeah, I've been quietly rooting against you both for some time now. Although, I can't deny you're one of my guilty pleasures." Rowena laughs, "Oh, God." Crowley's disgusted and says, "Oh, God." Dean says, "All right, no flirting, and no fighting." Liz says, "Yeah, and no deals. No talks about who is owned what if we survive this." Dean says, "Nobody likes each other. It doesn't matter." Liz says, "We only have the fight ahead." Chuck says, "Amara's looking for me. But I'm warded against her, for now. The second I drop the warding, she'll show. She'll be expecting a fight and we'll give it to her. Shock and awe. Shock and awe. You have your troops in position?" Rowena raises her hand and Chuck clears his throat and says, "Yes, Rowena?" Rowena smiles and says, "Fabulous plan... God, but doesn't this strategy strike anyone as a wee bit un-strategic? Shouldn't we at least try to catch her off guard?" Crowley says, "Is that sequence set in stone? Demon, angel, witch power? Seems to me that the first response should come from the most disposable force." Lucifer says, "Right! Good argument, Doggie. Demons first, it is." Crowley says, "The weakest should go first. Naturally, that means the witches." Sam says, "Enough." Chuck says, "After that, it's Lucifer turn. Physical attack, one on one." Dean says, "What about Cass?" Lucifer says, "Oh, don't worry. Your pet's safety is my highest concern. Trust me, he's on board." Chuck says, "Once she's been weakened, I will take the Mark back from Amara and use it to seal her away. You ready?" Chuck looks at Sam. Sam says, "Yeah." Dean says, "Wait, what?" Sam says, "God and I talked about this. Someone needs to bear the Mark." Dean says, "Well, that should be me. I-I've had it before. I'm damaged goods." Chuck says, "Exactly. You've already been tainted. I can't transfer it to you. Sam volunteered." Sam nods. Dean drags Sam aside with Liz following. Dean says, "First Cass is making kamikaze side plans and now you? You couldn't have talked to me and Liz?" Sam says, "We did talk." Liz says, "And what happens when the Mark turns you into a psychopath?" Sam says, "You guys lock me up where I can't hurt anyone. And you throw away the key." Dean says, "Sam, no." Sam says, "Dean, you told me you couldn't beat Amara, that it would have to be me or Liz. Well, this is it-- me. We talked about this. It's time to do the smart thing." Liz says, "So, what are we supposed to, just sit by and watch?" Sam says, "No. We're all in this fight together. You two are leading this army." Dean says, "Oh, you mean babysitting the bad guys? Okay, Sam. Okay. God's plan." Moments later, it's show time, while Rowena goes to handle Amara everyone else gets ready. The room starts shaking and they hear thunder. The room starts sparking. Crowley then goes to walk outside and fight with his demons. Then it gets quiet, and a battered and bruised Amara walks through. As Dean takes a step forward, Sam holds him back. Amara looks at Chuck and says, "Hello, brother. You cheated... again. But--" Amara gets cut off by Lucifer stabbing Amara through the stomach. Amara gasps and Lucifer takes the spear out as Amara drops to her knees with a groan. As Lucifer goes to stab Amara again, Chuck stops him and says, "Ah! Son." Lucifer backs away and Chuck looks down at Amara and says, "I'm sorry. For this, for everything." Amara says, "An apology at last. What's sorry to me? I spent millions of years crammed into that cage... alone.... and afraid, wishing-- begging for death because of you! And what was my crime, brother?" Chuck says, "The world needed to be born! And you wouldn't let me! Amara, you gave me no choice." Amara says, "That's your story. Not mine. The real reason you banished me, why I couldn't be allowed to exist... you couldn't stand it. No, we were equals. We weren't great or powerful, because we stood only in relation to each other. You think you made the archangels to bring light? No. You made them to create lesser beings, to make you large, to make you Lord. It was ego! You wanted to be big!" Amara stands up and Chuck says, "That's true. But it isn't the whole truth. There's a value, a glory in creation... that's greater and truer than my pride or my ego. Call it grace, call it being! Whatever it is, it didn't come from my hands. It was there... waiting to be born. It just is, as you and I just were. Since you've been freed, I know that you've seen it." Chuck looks over at Dean and says, "Felt it." Amara also looks over at Dean. Amara looks back over at Chuck and says, "It didn't have to be like this. I loved you, brother. Well... you've won again. Finish it. Kill me." Chuck says, "I'm sorry." Chuck then starts burning the Mark off Amara and Amara feels the burn and says, "No. No! No!" Sam then starts grunting as the Mark starts appearing on his arm. Chuck says, "I'm so sorry." Amara says, "No. Not again!" Amara then grabs Chuck's throat, and she angrily says, "Not ever again!" Chuck starts floating in the air and he's gasping for air. As Lucifer goes to charge at Amara, Amara flings him away and she says, "Goodbye, nephew." Lucifer's banished out of Castiel's body and Dean says, "Cass!" As Dean takes a step forward to Amara, Amara flings him away. Amara says, "I'd die a million times and murder you a million more before going back there! Tell me... if you won't change, why should I?" Dean says, "Amara, no!" Amara's darkness then starts attacking Chuck and he's grunting in pain. Amara says, "Sorry, brother." Chuck starts glowing white and the three humans shield their eyes. Chuck's body then is dropped to the ground and he's unresponsive. Dean says, "No. Amara, what have you done?" Liz softly says, "He's dead." Sam says, "God's dead." Amara says, "No. He's dying. My brother will dim... and fade away into nothing. But not until he sees what comes next. Not until he watches this world, everything he created, everything he loves turn to ash. Welcome to the end." Amara then disappears.
