(Violet's Perspective)
I guess I should care more about my siblings, but when they're not mean to me, they mostly ignore me.
My least favorite is Allison because she's always going around like she knows everything just because she gets amazing grades.
She's my sister, but she can be such a bitch sometimes.
I went into her room at night when she was asleep, because I knew she was a heavy sleeper and I wanted to scare her awake just to be an asshole.
But when I entered her room and saw all her stuff, I decided it would be more fun to go through it.
I looked around. The room was mostly visible because Allison sleeps with a nightlight on for some damn reason.
The first place I thought to look was under her bed, because this house has exactly zero good hiding places.
I expected to find something sketchy but it was all totally innocent. Just some art supplies and a folded piece of paper.
I took the piece of paper because I didn't know what it was, and then I left the room to find a place with good enough lighting to read it.
I made my way to the room that I share with Lucas, and I turned on the lamp next to our bunk bed.
Lucas had been in bed trying to sleep and he sat up straight.
"What the Hell, Violet..." he muttered.
"Shut up." I said as I used one hand to climb the latter, holding the paper in my other hand.
I got up to the top of the bed and I sat on the mattress, eagerly unfolding the note.
Lucas turned off the lamp.
"Turn the light back on, you airhead!" I demanded loudly, hitting the bed frame loudly to get my point across.
"Okay! Jesus Christ, bitch..." Lucas muttered before turning the light on.
I stared at the paper and began to read. And I could not believe what I was seeing. My sister... MY sister... Allison Gonzalez– is in love. Not only that, but she's in love with a girl.
"Holy shit." I said.
"Wha-at?!" Lucas said through gritted teeth.
"Our sister's in love with a girl." I told him.
Silence.
"What?!" Lucas asked.
"Yes." I confirmed.
"No." He said in disbelief.
"Yes, dumbass." I said again to get the point across.
"Prove it." Lucas demanded.
"Okay, get your lazy ass up here and look at this love letter I found under her bed." I told him.
"Ooh, this should be good." Lucas laughed as he got out of bed and immediately began climbing the ladder up to me.
He sat in front of me and I handed him the letter.
"'Dear Marigold'..." Lucas began, muttering the words of the letter as he read it to himself, his eyes going wide as he read it.
Eventually he finished reading it and his eyes moved back to me.
"Holy shit." he said.
I nodded to show that I agreed.
Lucas jumped down the ladder, creating a loud BANG on the floor when he landed.
He began walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I'm telling the brothers." he replied.
"Wait, hold on a second, I have a plan." I said.
"Mine's better." Lucas insisted, stopping to look back at me.
I jumped down the ladder and guarded the door.
"Yeah? Then what is your plan?" I asked with an angry face.
He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, how about my plan then? I promise, it's more elaborate than a damn shrug." I insisted.
"What kind of eight year-old goes around using the word 'elaborate'?" Lucas said.
"Shut the fuck up and listen, okay?" I said angrily.
He threw his arms up defensively.
"Okay, so I know for a fact that Allison is going over to that girl's house to hang out this weekend." I began.
Lucas gasped.
"We could get this girl's phone number and then text her exactly what the note says when Allison is at her house. And then we watch the world burn." I said.
Lucas smiled evilly.
"Let's go tell the brothers." Lucas said.
"But not Andrew!" I insisted.
"Why not Andrew?" Lucas asked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Do you ever pay any attention around here??? Allison and Andrew are way too close. He'd tell her our plan and would spoil all the fun." I told him.
Lucas crossed his arms and looked at a random spot on the wall, deep in thought.
"So we can tell the twins. But not Andrew." I said.
"Alright, deal." Lucas agreed.
We then went downstairs to find everyone.
Henry and Noah were on the couch watching something on TV, not fighting for once in their lives.
"We have an announcement to make." Lucas said.
"Fuck off until the show's over." Henry said.
We ignored him.
"You're gonna find this a lot more interesting than your show." I insisted.
"Are you deaf, Violet?" Noah asked. "We wanna watch the show." He added.
I took the TV remote and turned off the TV.
"Well, too bad." I said.
Henry almost got off the couch and from the anger in his eyes I could tell he was gonna beat the shit out of me, but Noah held him back until he calmed down.
"Our sister is gay." I told the twins.
They shrugged.
"We know." They said in unison.
My eyes widened.
"What the fuck do you mean you know?!" I asked, thinking she had confessed to them.
"It's obvious. She hasn't even told us; we just know." Henry said.
"I don't understand how you could 'just know'!" I told them, saying "just know" in a mocking tone.
"Well for one, when we were all watching Weird Science that one time, I could tell she had a super big crush on Lisa." Noah said.
"That's proof enough." I replied.
"Anyway, what's even more interesting than our sister being a lesbo is the fact that we have evidence of her first crush. Her first real crush." Lucas told them.
They gasped.
"And what's even more interesting than that is the fact that she's going over to her house this weekend." I told them.
Another gasp from the twins.
"We have this love letter I found under Allison's bed." I said, holding up the paper.
Noah snatched it away and unfolded it to read it, letting Henry read it over his shoulder.
Their eyes went wider with every word they read.
"Holy shit." Henry said.
Noah nodded in response.
"I have a plan." Lucas said.
I snapped my head to look at him.
"It's not your plan, dumbass, it's my plan that I already explained to you, therefore you know the plan. My plan." I told Lucas.
"Alright, fine." Lucas said with an eyeroll.
I explained my plan to the twins as they listened to me for once in their lives, and they seemed to be on board.
"And we aren't including Andrew in any of this. He's too close with Allison. He'll stop us in a heartbeat." I told them.
They nodded in agreement.
"Where is Andrew, anyway?" I asked.
"He's in his room sleeping. He wants to be prepared for his math test tomorrow." Henry said with an eyeroll.
I laughed.
"What a snob." I said.
Sure, I get okay grades. But I don't even really try. I just do. I get good enough grades to get by and that's fine by me. I don't need to be the special childhood prodigy.
Allison and Andrew, however; they wanna go to college and be smart.
I don't know how Lucas and Henry and Noah feel about education, and I don't give half a shit, either.
We discussed the plan some more until we had it all figured out, and then we went up to Allison's room.
I took her phone and placed the button on her thumb to unlock it, knowing she unlocks her phone with Touch ID.
She moved her head around a bit, and we thought she was gonna wake up, but she didn't.
We went into her contacts and looked for this Marigold girl, and found her with no trouble at all.
Once I found the number, Henry wrote it down in a small notepad before leaving the room.
We went through her phone a bit more just for fun, but Allison began to wake up, so I quickly put the phone back in its place and followed my siblings out of the room.
