(Allison's Perspective)
She loves me back...
I couldn't believe it!
She loves me back!
I hugged her tightly.
She hugged me back, holding me close and making me feel safe in her arms.
As she held me in her arms I couldn't help but realize I felt as if I fit perfectly into them.
I pulled away slightly to look into her eyes, and she stared back into mine.
Her eyes sparkled like the stars.
And then she kissed me.
I leaned in, kissing her back.
The kiss was short and innocent.
Her lips smiled against mine, and mine smiled back.
Once we pulled away I just held her and let her hold me in return.
"So... I'd like you to help me clear up my confusion about the letter?..." Marigold began.
"Oh, of course." I said, pulling away from the hug and looking at the text message on her phone.
"I wrote that letter down on paper. And I folded the paper and hid it under my bed. I guess my siblings got a hold of it..." I told her.
"But that doesn't explain how they knew what number to text it to." Marigold said.
I thought for a second.
"Yeah, I don't know how they got your number, either..." I admitted, telling the truth.
I looked at the number.
I read every number over and over again, trying to recognize them.
I opened my phone and typed the digits into my contacts.
Lucas's name showed up.
Of course Lucas did it.
And I'm sure Violet helped.
I'm gonna mutilate them when I get home, I thought to myself.
And I knew Andy had no idea that this was gonna happen, because he would've stopped them. I know he would've.
And I'm sure when I tell him that they did that, he'll beat them up.
I have mixed feelings about my siblings beating each other up. Sometimes they deserve it. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes even if they deserve it, I feel a little bit guilty seeing it happen, because those are my brothers and sister.
My sister, I don't care much about. Andy, I love dearly. Lucas, I hate just about half of the time. But the other half, he's okay. Noah and Henry are usually alright. Except Henry and Noah are the best at defending themselves, because they're the oldest, and so they're stronger than most of us. But sometimes Andy can beat them in fights.
Marigold must've seen my face of anger.
"What's wrong? Did you figure out who's number it was?" she asked me.
"My little brother, Lucas." I told Marigold.
She nodded understandingly.
"I'm sorry your siblings suck." Marigold apologized.
I smiled, glad that she cared enough to say that.
"It's alright. Sometimes they're not so bad." I replied.
She walked over to me and looked over my shoulder at our phones.
She linked my arm with hers and put her head on my shoulder.
Butterflies flooded my stomach and I blushed while smiling.
I looked over at her and kissed her forehead before returning back to the phones.
"Should we text back to get revenge?" Marigold asked me.
I took a second to think.
"Nah. Maybe I should wait until I get home to tell them that their little plan changed my life for the better." I told her.
She smiled at me.
I smiled back.
"Do you wanna cuddle while watching TV?" I asked her.
She kind of froze after I asked that.
"I've never cuddled before..." she admitted.
"Me neither. But do you wanna try?" I asked.
She nodded.
We sat in her bed and I put my arm around her shoulders.
She leaned into my arm and seemed comfy.
I was comfy, too.
"Are you comfy?" I asked her.
"Yes." she replied. "And you?" she then added.
"Yes." I told her.
So she unpaused the TV, and we continued watching shows and movies together.
Once we got bored of watching stuff we listened to albums on her record player while drawing in her sketchbook together.
We chatted and laughed and smiled.
It was the best day of my life so far.
And then– way too soon, it was five o'clock, and Andy texted me that he was here to pick me up.
I frowned at my phone.
"Awww..." Marigold whined, knowing what the text was about just by my reaction.
"I wish I didn't have to go..." I admitted.
"Me, too..." she replied.
I turned off my phone and looked into Marigold's eyes.
"I had a really great time today. I love hanging out with you. And I love you." I told her with confidence.
She smiled brightly.
"I feel the same." she replied, hugging me.
I hugged her back.
"So, are you my girlfriend now?" she asked me.
"I'd really like to be." I told her.
She pulled away slightly and gently cupped my face in both her hands.
"Then it's official. We're a couple now." she said to me with a bright smile and stars in her eyes.
I couldn't help but smile back just as bright.
We kissed and then hugged tightly again.
"I love you, Marigold..." I said softly to her.
"I love you too, Allison..." she replied, running her fingers through my hair.
She kissed my forehead.
I put my stuff in my purse and put my boots on before letting Marigold follow me downstairs and into the driveway.
She stayed on the porch while I opened the passenger door of Andy's car.
"Bye!" I waved to Marigold.
"See you on Monday!" Marigold replied with a smile and a wave.
I got into the car, and as I buckled my seatbelt Andy began to pull out of the driveway.
I still had butterflies in my stomach.
"So, how was it?" Andy asked enthusiastically.
I turned to him with a bright smile.
"She's my girlfriend now!" I told him.
He cheered happily.
"How did that happen?" he asked.
"Oh, you're gonna love this;" I said, and began telling him.
I told him how Marigold got the text and how I tried to take the phone away. Then I told him how eventually she read the whole thing and admitted to liking me back, and that she kissed me.
I told him that after that I looked up the number in my own phone to find out who it was, and he was Lucas.
Andy swore he had nothing to do with this, and I told him I knew that even before he said that.
"I swear to God when we get home I'm gonna-" Andy began through gritted teeth.
He paused.
"...Have a... talk... with our siblings..." he completed, keeping his eyes on the road as he drove.
I laughed.
"Yeah, me too." I replied.
We talked on the rest of the drive home, and eventually it was time to confront my imps of siblings.
