Six-year-old Naeresys Targaryen loved doing things she wasn't supposed to, running in the halls, not going to her sewing classes, hiding from her maids and mother, and so on.

But her favourite thing to do was to spy on the Small Council whenever they gathered. Naeresys loved getting her father's attention, even though he sometimes didn't give it to her. Everyone in the castle could tell that out of the 4 children he had with Alicent Hightower, Naeresys was his favourite.

Naeresys learned that if she listened to the conversations of her grandfather, Otto, then she could find out when the Small Council would take place and sneak in and spy on them.

She spied on them successfully thrice until her mother stormed in one night.

"Where is she? This is the third time she's done this. Maids don't know where she is! The guards haven't seen her! That girl is always doing something." Alicent yelled, standing in front of the Small Council.

" Who do you speak of, Alicent?" Otto asked his daughter, who looked very stressed.

"Naeresys! The maids say she disappears every night; only the gods know where she goes. I have had guards search this castle up and down, and she is nowhere to be found." Alicent told them. The looks on their face became clear. It was of concern.

The king stood from his chair and looked straight into the eyes of Otto Hightower. "Find her and bring her to me now." He said with authority.

The Council members all left to search for the princess behind a table, trying her best not to giggle.

"Alicent, we'll take it from here. Go rest, and we will bring her to her chambers." Alicent nodded and walked away.

"Otto, go with them and search for her." The king told him. Otto was about to say something, but the moment the king turned and looked out the balcony. He knew that it was no use.

As Otto left the room, the door behind him slammed shut, and dust floated around and tickled Naeresys sensitive nose.

She tried her best not to sneeze, but the more the dust floated around, the more her nose tickled, and in the end, Naeresys let out a cute, tiny sneeze.

The sneeze may have been tiny, but it was big enough for Viserys to listen and look over at the table.

Naeresys could hear her father walking towards her and quickly shuffled around, not realizing she was making more noise.

"Naeresys..." Viserys called out as he got to the table. Naeresys let out a small giggle and pulled herself up just enough to see her nose and eyes.

"Hello, Father," Naeresys said, giggling. "What are you doing?" Viserys asked his younger daughter.

"Oh, nothing." The 6-year-old responded, giggling some more. "Naeresys...." Viserys said as Naeresys's nose went red.

"Fatherrr." Naeresys trailed on. " Are you spying on me?" Viserys questioned. "No, that would be wrong," Naeresys responded, giggling.

"  I missed you, Father. You had not come to see me, so I came to you," Naeresys told her father, walking up to him.

" Next time you want to see me, ask for me. Now you will not be doing this again." Naeresys nodded and looked up at her father.

"Yes, Father," Naeresys replied. Viserys then grabbed her hand and began to walk.

"Let's go to your chamber. You need sleep." Naeresys nodded her head and walked happily beside her father. "Only if you read me one of the histories." Viserys smiled and continued walking.

As Viserys closed the book, Naeresys snuggled into bed more. "Now remember what I have told you, no more spying on the Council." Viserys reminded her.

"No more spying on the Council, I promise." Naeresys lied, crossing her tiny fingers under her blanket. "Goodnight, my princess," Viserys whispered as he kissed her forehead.

As the years passed, Naeresys continued to spy on the council, only this time, she made sure no one would ever miss her when she did it and no one would see her leaving.

At first, spying on the council was supposed to be fun, but as she continued to do it, she realized that it could be so much more than that.

She knew of secrets her mother could never have thought of. She knew strategies of wars yet to come and those that were happing. Naeresys knew every single decision made for the kingdom and loved it.

Of course, she would act clueless and smile, like the princess she was meant to be, but every night she would stay up and use what she learned from spying on the Small Council to see if there was an alternative.

She would write down things she thought could be more helpful for the kingdom and the realms. Then, in her mind, Naeresys could see herself on the Small Council, making the decisions and helping out.

Of course, that was nothing but a silly dream, yet something in her told her that she would be there sooner or later.
