≪ °❈° ≫Naeresys was right. Viserys did think about what she had said and did come up with a punishment that wasn't as brutal as the one she did.
Alicent Hightower had been sent to Oldtown. It wasn't a punishment per se since that was where she grew up, but she had not been allowed to leave Oldtown until the King saw fit.
Otto Hightower had been sent to the Westerlands on pressing King business ( one that Viserys came up with) and was not to return until it was resolved.
Of course, that meant that the King did not have a Hand or a Queen by his side. Rumours began that The Queen, Alicent, had been caught having an affair with her sworn guard Ser Criston ( which wouldn't be a surprise), but all those who opened their mouths about the rumours had their tongues removed.
But something that Naeresys knew was going to bite her was the punishment that Lucerys received for harming her brother. (one that Aemond was more than happy to hear about).
The young Velaryon boy had been sent to Winterfell to help out. It was near The Wall enough for him to be scared but not close enough for him to go to the Wall.
Rhaenyra had sent multiple ravens, explaining how unfair and cruel it was to send her son to Winterfell, but the King wrote back saying that it could've been worst and he could've been sent straight to the Wall.
Naeresys was currently sitting in the library with multiple books around her and papers. She had been trying to help her Father as much as possible since he lost his Hand, and it had not been easy.
Naeresys knew that she loved power and being able to help make decisions, but she never actually sat down and tried to do the work the right way. " I give up!" She said, slamming the book shut and pushing it to the side.
"Why are you so loud?" A whine came from the right of her. It was Aegon, his hair a total mess and his clothes wet from wine. "What are you doing here?" She asked, standing up and walking towards him.
"Trying to sleep. Now be quiet." Aegon told her he shifted from side to side and rested his head on top of the pile of books. "Okay, you smell. Have you taken a shower this week?" She said, holding her nose close.
Aegon was a drunk, and everyone knew it. Sometimes he would drink so much that he didn't even know where he was. Naeresys tried her hardest to take care of him and the rest of her siblings.
"Of course I have. I am a Prince." The smelly boy told her. Naeresys rolled her eyes and picked up his arm. "Come on, let's get you to your chamber." Aegon nodded his head and got up, instantly regretting it.
The boy's hangover was awful; everything around him spun, and he wanted to puke. "If you puke on me, I'll have to apologize to Helaena for the two of you not being able to have children when you marry." Naeresys threatened while dragging the boy out of the library.
The walk to Aegon's chamber was fast; when she entered, it was a horrible sight. Clothes were everywhere, and old, mouldy food sat on the table. " Seven Hells... How can it be this bad? Please. Prepare a bath for him." Naeresys told the maid.
Who seemed relieved that the Princess would enter and make the orders, not Aegon. After three minutes, a bath had been prepared, and Aegon had found himself sleeping on his bed.
Naeresys had to slap her brother three times before he woke up again. "Come on, get out of those clothes." Aegon nodded and raised his arms.
He expected her to help him. With a scoff, Naeresys began helping him out. She removed his shoes, pants, and shirt and finally dragged his ass inside the bath.
According to Aegon, the water had been too cold, but Naeresys knew he was looking for an excuse to complain. "Stop your whining."
"I like it when you brush my hair," Aegon told as he leaned more towards her as she ran a brush through his messy, tangled, white hair.
"Well, someone had to. Do not get used to this." The young Princess told him, hitting him with the brush. "Great! Now you've ruined the moment." The boy scoffed.
"I'm done. Get out and go to sleep. The proper way." Aegon nodded his head, got up, kissed his sister's scared cheek, and yelled at some maid to help him.
Naeresys left and went to her Father's chamber, all wet. "Hello, Father." She said as she walked in.
Viserys smiled and returned to read yet another letter from Rhaenyra. All the letters were always the same thing, asking- begging him to bring back Lucerys.
"Enough with that, he is being punished for what he did, and her asking isn't going to change that," Naeresys said as she scathed the letter from his hand and placed it elsewhere.
"Any word from Mother?" She asked. She loved her mother, yes, it was hard to live with her at times, but Naeresys did love her.
"None, my sweet girl." The peaceful King said. The girl nodded and sat near her Father. "I'm sorry, it is my fault that you no longer have a Hand nor a wife to keep you company." The girl told him, with a sad look.
"Nonsense! What you asked of me was the right thing to do—imagine what would've happened if you hadn't. And I've got you to keep my company. Now, if you'd please, run and get the old Valyria book you love, I'll read it to you." Viserys saw the bright look on his girl's face and couldn't help but smile and be grateful for her.
He knew that Naeresys Targaryen would make a great Queen when her time came, and he couldn't wait to hear about it when the histories were written.
( as if he'd be able to read it, with his old age)
